Great place for Southern Italian cooking - especially if you like seafood
My wife and I were recently in Salzburg with a tour group and we needed some dinner and we were looking for Lasagna. I know, I know. In Salzburg, and we want Lasagna? Well, we found Taste. It which did serve Italian food, yes, in Salzburg, mostly with seafood... unfortunately, I don't really care for seafood.
Chef Walter Sanguedolce himself came and greeted us, a nice touch. We could tell he was a master of his Sicilian cooking since the majority of his menu included seafood. Did I mention I don't care for seafood?
Anyway, the Lasagna lovers in the group opted for the Spaghetti Bolognese and it was fairly good, but a tad under seasoned. My wife had Spaghetti Pompadour, but she thought there was a wee bit too much garlic for her liking; she does not like garlic as much as I do.
Regardless, the staff were all gracious and accommodating, especially considering that none of our group spoke Italian. Plus it was a treat to meet Chef Walter San-guedolce himself. So, if you do like seafood and want an excellent meal prepared by a Chef specializing in Sicilian cooking, you owe it to yourself to check out Taste.It. read more
