We ordered the pizza with salami , bacon , peppers and added fresh basil. It was delicious. Cooked in an electric oven that made a char on the crust. The crust was soft and you could eat all of it. The peppers were a little spicy. The basil was a bonus. They normally don't cut your pizza. We were splitting it so they cut it and gave us 2 big half's. WOW, this place is just amazing. We stayed in Salzburg for 3 nights and had dinner here every night. Cozy little Italian restaurant that sits 20/25 people inside and probably 20 outside. The food was just spot on, along with friendly service. They took the time to explain the menu and didn't rush you along. The 1st - 2 evenings we just stuck with the pizza's and loved them all. On our last night we had pasta and pizza. Again just amazing. The crust, the sauce just perfect. I'd highly recommend anyone looking for good Italian food that tastes good and is filling to come try this place out. The prices are quite reasonable compared to many restaurants that offer this type of food or atmosphere. read more

I trust my fellow Yelpers to give me great recommendations and they did not disappoint! First, my husband and I live for a good carbonara, the authentic kind. Not the the "cream sauce" kind. I can tell you that Sto bene is the real deal!!! But first, we had to try the bruschetta with their homemade pesto sauce. Ah-mazing! Probably the best I've had. We also tried their red wine by the glass, and it was very, very good. When the carbonara came out, I couldn't wait to dig in. The crispy bits of bacon were tasty and the dish was seasoned perfectly. Stopped here for dinner during our stroll through Salzburg. We ordered 3 different kind of pizzas and they were all delicious. Outdoor seating seems to be the only seating they offer as they wouldn't allow us to sit inside even though no one was sitting at the tables. Service was good and they do have a WC! read more

The waiter gave a table first to the group who came after us then ignored us until one of the waitresses asked us to come in to sit. I thought maybe it was just a simple mistake and decided let it slide. After we sat down and ordered food and drinks, the waiter served us the wrong drink. I had to ask and send it back. I thought maybe he is just very incompetent. We our food arrived, the waiter shaved truffle onto the pasta. It struck me as a suspiciously small amount. I later watched him serve another table with at least two to three times the amount. If you look at photos from other diners and compare it to mine, you'll see stark difference. I truly hope he is just incompetent at his job and not maliciously racist because he can get better at his job but I can not change my skin color. read more

Visiting from Los Angeles we have some awesome Italian restaurants we frequent.... but oh my... Sto Bene far surpassed our expectations!! All the Austrian cuisine restaurants were full so we went to the Italian restaurants. The first one was good. This second one was amazing! Surprised us because we have been to Italy and love Italian food all over the world. I had the lasagna, my son had the pizza with his favorite toppings (anchovies and capers) and it blew us away with the flavor and generous toppings. My daughter said her spaghetti carbonara was better than the other Italian restaurant, and my husband also enjoyed his pasta Arribiata better than the other restaurant.
