I tried the Jerk chicken with rice and peas. The rice was a little dry and a little bit sweet. They do not use long grain or basmati type rice but the fat short grains instead which I don't think is nice as it's more starchy and heavier.
The Chicken was very nice with a genuine BBQ flavour. However some bits of the chicken were slightly undercooked. I ordered the large jerk but only received two drumsticks and thigh. I would expect one piece of breast/wing as part of the pieces. It was just the chicken that had sauce on it. No additional jerk sauce was poured over so the whole dish was fairly dry. I tried a beef pattie but I have had many nicer tasting patties in other establishmens. I also found a bone fragment and hard bit of veg skin, possibly onion. I was told the food is halal, certainly the pattie packaging had no halal labels nor did the manufacturers website for the patties (first choice bakers). I do always compare carribean food to Cafe Carribean in Spitalfields market as a comparison. I suggest the owners of this place try Cafe Carribean one day especially their jerk with rice and peas. Overall average. read more
