Week one was spent taking up 200 sq ft of old floor but not all the motar. Power said he had aa crew down with prior job. Could start Monday. I would have all three. I had 3 guys half a day. Ended up one guy, everyone else gone. Poor communication. One day I am told "tomorrow, final demo and dry fitting cement board. Didn't happen. There was another day of demo and some incorrect dry fitting. This is the point at which I said no more. What really sent me over the edge was they turned my water off on Wednesday and I advised multiple times I had an appointment and needed to leave by 230. The owner was supposed to come back before I.Left and turned the water back on. He texted me at two twenty seven and said he was about twenty minutes away. I was so mad and I had to go, so I did if they were. Said he'd come back that night later from Bloomington. I guess and turn the water back on, but I said, forget it. I tried to do it myself, and I couldn't, so I spent a night without water. It is so disrespectful, in my opinion to tell somebody. You will be there before they leave. But then don't be there, and they end up having a night without any water. I had new flooring company come out who said as they looked in the bathroom that they had broken my plumbing pipe.Now I have to have that replaced and have a drywall person in to fix that. I asked for a refund of the unspent.Amount I had paid up front. The owner is giving me the run. Around and now he won't respond at all. I have a lot of texts that show everything i'm saying, if anybody wants to see them. The owner told me that I have very unrealistic expectations. That could be true. But when the new flooring guys told me what it would take to fix the problems this company caused, it's less time than these guys already spent here. One of the workers for this company also told me that the they have been working on a job in Champaign for a month and a half, and they're nowhere near done. That's unverified by me. But now I have to sue this guy to get my money back. Also to get money for the plumbing that they damaged.And the drywall repair, which is another three hundred and fifty dollars. Beware. The values you read on their website which say what they are committed to are absolutely untrue, as it relates to my experience with them.

They got straight to the point and charged a reasonable amount for my bathroom addition. People do not understand overhead of a business & time it takes. Contractors are hard to come by. I am very thankful for this local business that is well rounded in handling the framing, drywall, plumbing, and construction of my renovation.

The bad: Fitzpatrick charged $85 for the 21 minute service call. That's $243/hour. I opine that Fitzpatrick should have billed only $30 for the 21 minutes labor @ $85/hour. But I paid the $85. But charging $33.47 for the $6 part is an outrageous 458% markup. I paid to Fitzpatrick $10 for it, still a 67% markup. With my check I mailed to Fitzpatrick printouts from Lowe's, Home Depot, and Menard's for the same flexible copper refrigerator tubing, all at about $6. The day of the job I had to phone the plumber on his private cellphone because he forgot our scheduled appointment. He was eating lunch. He arrived 30 minutes late. What I don't understand is why would Fitzpatrick grossly overcharge me for only a 21 minute job with a $6 part? Why incur a customer's ill will over a small quickie job? Take your business elsewhere. Later that month, I was told to expect to move into my "turnkey" Heckaman Home in "July or August." I moved in two weeks before Christmas despite many things not being completed. Many of the things I was told verbally didn't happen. There are NEC violations in the breaker box, there was needless damage to my large lot and yard ornaments, ceiling insulation was loose cellulose that wasn't leveled and fell far below general standards for this area. A Pex fitting blew apart the first time I turned on the plumbing. I received a large bill from a sub-contractor that I hadn't contracted with. There was no caulk around plumbing. The list could go on and on.
