This place is like going to your best friends house and getting pampered all while having a good time. The hairdressers are so friendly and personable. I called ahead and asked for someone specifically good at cutting bobs. Lauren was the stylist recommended by the woman on the phone. She did such an amazing job on my hair! We cut about 8 inches and it couldn't have came out better. I have gotten so may compliments and I credit it to Lauren! Worth the money, worth the time, this is just the change I needed. My only problem is I that also went back and bought a hair straightener that they convinced me would work wonders. It was having some malfunctions, I traded it in for a new one and had the same problem. Finally, the manager said the owner would be personally testing and sending me a new one, but he never did. That straightener was $$$ down the drain. read more

I've gone to TarraDean Studio a handful of times so far. It's clean, has ample parking, is in a great location, and Apryl is fabulous. She has worked wonders with my hair and is making the grow out process virtually painless. To help with the grow out process and make it fun I've had color and shaved undercut designs along the way. I always look forward to my appointments with Apryl. They have a nice color bar, they offer make-up lessons, there is a large selection of product you can purchase. Since I've left the last review, TarraDean reached out to me multiple times. After several phone calls rehashing all of my issues with the studio, along with promises that they would talk with Tarra and get in touch with me regarding potentially resolving my issues with them, I have heard nothing. So...they spent another hour of my life playing phone tag, explaining (AGAIN) all of my issues with the salon, and them attempting to explain away all of the issues I dealt with. It's one thing to try and discover what the problems were to attempt to resolve them and help a customer leave happy. It's another thing to just grill an unhappy client and then offer no resolutions whatsoever. read more

TarraDean Studio is an adorable little salon near the beach. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating for my last minute wedding. I'm from Chicago and unfamiliar with the area, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that my every need was taken care of. Megan even ran out to pick up mascara that I had forgotten at home. On top of that she drove me and my daughter to Little Harbor Beach so that we didn't have to wait for an Uber (talk about amazing customer service!) She also does a fabulous job shaping eyebrows! April shared in my wedding day excitement from the first phone call to throughout the actual day! She genuinely loves weddings and loves to style brides. This is a nice salon with very friendly and competent staff. I am always happy with the look when I leave. There are only 2 parts I am unhappy about: one is the price- if I get my hair done there, even just a cut, I am not leaving without paying less than $100 (it is significantly more if I get a cut and color!) and you cannot tip on your card- you must have cash. It can be a major pain in the butt to have to remember cash. I know that isn't a shocker- nice salons cost more money than rinky-dink ones. Still, it makes my wallet sad! Tarra Dean is one of the most professional individuals in the industry...hands down! I have been going to Tarra Dean Studio's for 8 years. I have the type of hair that walks to a different beat; it's curly, wavy and thick. I haven't had luck finding the perfect blend since high school - I've had great success with the outcome of my Keratin treatments and style. I get raving compliments about the shape, texture, and shine. I love the energy in this salon, the team is fun, entertaining and the salon over looks Onset Bay - it's beautiful and worth the visit. The cleanest pedicure chairs the industry has to offer. The Nail Technician is also amazing - she explains the anatomy of your feet and signs to look for and or what's going on with the health of your feet. My wife and I have been having our hair cut at Tarra Dean Studio for years. My wife has long wavy hair about which she is very particular. Before Tarra began to cut it, there had been only one other stylist, who since had moved out of state, whom she said could cut her hair correctly. She is always very satisfied with the way that Tarra cuts it. So, after 30 years of marriage, Tarra is only one of two who's work has pleased my wife. This is a professional salon offering latest trends or traditional classics, the environment is warm yet exciting...a small town salon with a city vibe. In my 15 years going to this salon, I have had one bad experience. It was not the salons fault, it was a keratin solution that was manufactured with an issue that caused the treatment to not take properly. Being the customer service driven owner she is, Tarra Dean complained to the Keratin manufacturer and she managed to have the New England region Keratin Complex lead educator come to her salon to redo my Keratin treatment at no cost to me!
