I usually wind up in the dressing room (which, UGH, don't get me started on the dressing rooms...can we get some proper fucking hooks, people? Heaping your finds onto a bench isn't the way to start your fitting adventure!) with my arms full of things to try on. One by one, they are all poo-pooed, whether it be for fit, transparency, a flaw, defect, or hole, general lack of quality. Sometimes, I'll find something that fits, looks good, and doesn't look or feel like it's going to fall apart the second time I wear it. So I buy it. Sometimes, I wind up with several things that meet this criteria yet I just don't feel that owning them is worth the hassle of going through the checkout. And this is no slight against the checkout process or the employees. That bit's fine. The clothes just aren't worth it sometimes. And don't get me started on the damn shoes. Worst. Organization. EVER. Yes, this is probably due to customers being inconsiderate assholes, but there's not even an ATTEMPT at organizing the clearance shoes. Have YOU ever tried to shop for shoes by guessing which ones are your size just by looking at them in the box? Why can't the clearance shoes just stay with their same-size brethren, colored dot in place, and skip that whole migraine-inducing process.

Soon, I dried my tears and realized...my size 22/24 ass can still shop there! Jeans and button-down shirts are out of the question (linebacker shoulders for the lose!), but most of the tanks, tees, sweaters, cardigans dresses, knit pants, etc. in XXL fit like a dream. The biggest issue I have is with shirts being too short, but I'm 5'9" and this is not Old Navy's fault. I really enjoy the clearance section. I've been known to walk out with 6-8 articles of clothing for $25 or less. It's an awesome place to stock up on wardrobe basics.

(Publix Buy 1 Get 1 Free beats most…read moreall commissary prices especially on items normally costing $3 or more, such as any frozen items, 6-pack of bottled Pepsi, Lays chips, Ritz crackers, breakfast cereal, or small bags of cat food. And Publix takes 2 coupons on those 2 items). Yes, Publix takes a coupon against the "free" item. This sweetens the deal even more. Meat is high at the commissary, particularly the boneless rib eye and porterhouse steaks. It's the same price "on sale" at Publix. And Publix runs them on sale a lot. Hamburger meat is cheaper but only a great deal when it is about to expire at Moody, such as Sunday afternoon. I don't like the texture of the hamburger grind either; Publix grind is better. However, other meats can be good deals such as chicken or pork. Normally Publix cannot touch the commissary prices. Some produce can be a much better deal at the commissary. The deli is no deal on sliced meats and cheeses---go to Publix, much cheaper and great sales too. This is why you won't see people waiting at the commissary deli. Strangely, some jar pickled items are cheaper everyday at Publix. Such as jarred pickled okra. It's 10% higher at Moody. I just don't understand that since items at Moody are sold "near cost". Is the Dallas TX buyer paying too much for that item? Tent sales during the holidays are a must attend. Most tent sale items are limited quantities available from manufactures and worth the trip to Moody. Arrive on the first day of the sale to ensure the items are not sold out. Any item "on sale" at the commissary is usually a good deal. I try to primarily shop the sales. Normal everyday prices on all McCormick spices are about half the price of Publix. Most commissary items are Name brands and cannot compete with store brands (prices) such as Wal-Mart or Publix.

I forget if it includes used books. But they are great deals. This is a Christian / religious / spiritual / inspirational bookstore. They have Bibles and a lot more. Included are children's books and children's activity stuff that you find in bookstores. Includes some books-on-tape, books-on-cd. Most books are on big pieces of plywood supported by saw-horses, so it's kind of a warehouse deal. If you shop at one store, you get a discount coupon for the other store. It goes both ways, so don't buy everything on one stop, go next door, use your coupon there, get another coupon, and come back here to finish up. If you're a book-lover or a fan of independent bookstores, you owe it to yourself to stop and browse if you are driving by on I-75. It's just 1/2 block from the Interstate highway. The other store has secular books: fiction, non-fiction, computer, children's etc. I was last here in November 2009.

They even helped me order a dress out of a catalog and it came out perfect! I also returned here to look for my wedding gown at the last minute (eloping), even though they didn't have much to choose in-store that I didn't get one from here, the staff was still very sweet. This store is probably the only nicest gown store I've been to in Valdosta (and be forewarned NOT to go to Lezlie's Bridal... they have the rudest service EVER). I would still recommend others to check out Only Options for any other formal attire, other savvy casual wear and also home decor. It's also at a very convenient spot in town so that you can go to the mall right after to find matching accessories and whatnot in the same day without feeling lagged from driving all over town.
