Here goes another Rant. This one is about piss poor management of the Babcock Store in Lake Park…read moreGa. In November of 2023 we purchased a new sofa, love seat and recliner at the store. They had trouble with the printer that day so we received No paperwork on our purchase. My husband went back a few days later, and they said that corporate would mail us the information,. Fast forward to today. We still had no paperwork on our purchase, so I called the store to find out what was going on. The young man that answered the phone told me that it had been mailed twice. I informed him that we have received nothing in the mail. He then proceeded to blame the US Postal Service. That told me right there that it had never been mailed. So, I then asked him when our payment was due, and was informed the 1st of each month. How am I suppose to know this without paperwork, I asked him could he mail us the information, and he said that if I would come down to the store, he would have it printed out. I informed him that I had been tested and was positive for COVID. He again asked if I was coming to the store to pick up the paperwork, I once again told him that I was tested Positive for COVID but I needed the paperwork, and he wouldn't mail it so I informed him I would come down. I did wear a mask when I entered the store, and the gentlemen I went up to ask if he could help. I told him I was there to pick up the paperwork from our purchase back in November and to make a payment. I looked over at another gentlemen and asked if he was the one I spoke with on the phone He said yes. I asked again, why the paperwork could not have been mailed. Change of story by him, it was Corporates Fault. The first gentlemen was asking how to spell our name so that he could print out the information. I explained to him that I had Covid and didn't want to come down, but that the person I spoke with on the phone kept asking me if I was coming down, and I told him yes. That was the only way we were going to get the paperwork since it was never mailed. The first gentlemen asked me if I tested positive for Covid and I explained to him that yes I had and had informed the gentlemen over there that I had. Well, the first gentleman asked me to step back from his work station which I did and began to barite me for coming into a store with Covid. I informed him that I had mentioned it twice to his co worker, but the only way I could get the paperwork was to come in since they don't like to spend money on stamps. The first gentleman asked me to go outside and he would bring the paperwork and receipt out there. I said something I should not have and it really made him mad. Anyway, when he came outside I once again told him that if his co worker had told me Corporate was aft fault (which I doubt) and that he would mail the paperwork to me (which he wouldn't do) then I would have not come down to the store, He didn't want to hear anything negative about the co worker, or their lack of proper procedures in following up with paperwork. I have spent a lot of money at this Local Store in the past but they have seen our last dollar. I don't know that if over the years management has changed hands, if so that must be the problem. They could have mailed us the copy of the purchase the next day, and like I said Bobby even went down there to see if he could get one back in December. So if they could do it today, the could have done it the day after our purchase. BABCOCK YOU JUST LOST ANOTHER SALE AND WILL NEVER GET ONE MORE DOLLAR FROM US.
