Absolutely the worst experience ever! Do not trust the staff to take care of your vision needs…read more First, the pricing is complete bait and switch tactic. Second, the scripts are not what the doctor orders. Two months in of "you have to give it time for your eyes to adjust" was complete blanketed response when in fact, they kept making my driving glasses with a computer script. They put me in danger while giving wrong advisement, suffering burning eyes and headaches, not one employee could look me in the eye and have a resolution focused conversation. I had to call back trying to get a manager on the phone that finally understood what I was going through. Again, go somewhere else where the doctor is invested in the outcome of your patient experience. This was a preventable situation, and no one really cared to address me as a patient.

I asked if she could refer me to an eye specialist, and she giggled again and said, "Do you WANT me to?" (Meaning that she didn't want to be bothered). I realized that I didn't trust her judgement about that, either. I can't see well with these glasses. I can't trust her enough to bring them back. At this point I'm wondering if she gave me the wrong prescription on purpose. Worst eye service ever, and in my lifetime, I never had any issues with anyone else.

Upon arrival, my first impression was concerning. While waiting, another patient left the office stating they had been waiting over three hours and that this was "the norm" every time they visited. Regrettably, my own appointment ultimately took approximately two hours, which appears to confirm that long wait times are a systemic issue. During my initial screening, I informed the technician that I cannot be dilated due to a medical condition. I also explained that my medical insurance has covered retinal imaging for the past three years at my previous eye care center as an alternative. I was told this would need to be checked. I was then sent back to the waiting room and, roughly 20 minutes later, brought to the imaging area. At that time, I was told there was no clear answer regarding coverage, but that the photos would be done anyway. During this interaction, Dr. Cash came in, examined my eyes, and instructed the technician to proceed with the photos. At no point during any of these conversations was I informed that I would be financially responsible for the imaging, nor was I asked for consent to proceed knowing there would be an out-of-pocket charge. Based on my prior experience and the information provided, I reasonably assumed the photos would be covered by my medical insurance as they had been in previous years. After completing my exam, which I would like to note was handled very thoroughly and professionally by Dr. Boyd,I was taken to the lobby to select glasses and check out. It was at this point that I was informed I would be charged for the imaging. When I questioned this, I spoke with the manager, Benja. Unfortunately, her response was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to explore any resolution or attempt to work with me regarding the charge, despite the lack of disclosure beforehand and the fact that the photos were ok'ed by Dr. Cash. Benja's attitude and refusal to assist were extremely disappointing and left me feeling disrespected as a patient. This interaction ultimately overshadowed the positive experiences I had with Jasmyn and Dr. Boyd, both of whom were friendly, accommodating, and thorough. This was my family's first visit to your practice, and due to this experience, we will not be returning. I have also shared this incident with family and friends who currently use or were considering your center, and they have expressed similar concerns about trust and transparency as a result. This outcome is unfortunate, especially given the strong recommendations I had received prior to scheduling my appointment. I believe patients should be clearly informed of any charges before services are performed, particularly when alternatives are discussed and prior coverage history is communicated. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve patient communication, billing transparency, and management interactions moving forward

I'm a new patient referred by my PCP, and so far it's been nothing but problems. The eye exam itself was fine. I picked out a pair of glasses but didn't have my updated ATM card with me, so I asked if I could call back to pay. Each time I called, I was told I didn't owe anything. Eventually, I had to physically go into the office to make payment. That's where the nightmare began. The front desk staff told me I had to wait for the person who originally took my order, which meant a long wait. That person was also surprised the front desk hadn't just taken my payment. Then there was an additional delay because of an authorization code issue. While waiting, I browsed more frames and asked about their BOGO (buy one, get one free) offer--only to be told it was valid for appointments only. I left hoping the correct frame had been ordered. Later, I received a refund notice unexpectedly, which added more confusion. I eventually had to involve VSP to get things moving. Then I got an automated text saying my glasses were ready for pickup--but they turned out to be the wrong pair. My eye exam was on 7/28/2025. It is now 9/29/2025, and I still don't have my glasses. On top of that, they stop answering the phones early, as I learned again today when I called at 4:26 pm CST.

Last fall I switched to Schaeffer Eye Center located in the Providence area of Huntsville. The service was fantastic and although the selection of frames is less than Lenscrafter's, Schaeffer still had a good selection to choose from. The thing that surprised me the most when I bought my glasses was the low price. Given Schaeffer's is not a nationwide franchise I expected the prices to be higher, but to my surprise they were much lower. So good service, adequate selection, and low price. Overall very good. Moving from last fall to today: I was working in the yard and a large piece of concrete hit my face and scratched my glasses. I went back to get a new pair and the lady checked my file and said the glasses were under warranty and they would order new lenses for me. What a pleasant surprise! And the new lenses will come in less than 2 weeks. WOW! If you are looking for a place to get glasses checkout Schaeffer Eye Center in Providence!
