I have been wearing contacts since I was 15 and every appointment I've had has always included a fitting to make sure they are comfortable. The eye doctor rushed out to her car the minute my exam was complete. I paid for the eye care club online and had receipts proving it but the staff couldn't find it, not blaming them at all. I asked to just pay for the exam so I could leave and ended up being charged a second time for the eye care club. Now I'm having to call multiple numbers to get any kind of answers on getting a refund and have to risk spending a ton of money on contacts that I may or may not be able to use since I can't find any online that fit my prescription and I wasn't able to ask the eye dr any questions that I may have since there was no fitting.

Too over 20 minutes on the second attempt, to schedule an appointment for an established patient. Absolutely frustrating.

Unfortunately, from start to finish, the visit was extremely disappointing and did not meet the…read morestandard of care or professionalism I was expecting, particularly given how highly your practice had been recommended. Upon arrival, my first impression was concerning. While waiting, another patient left the office stating they had been waiting over three hours and that this was "the norm" every time they visited. Regrettably, my own appointment ultimately took approximately two hours, which appears to confirm that long wait times are a systemic issue. During my initial screening, I informed the technician that I cannot be dilated due to a medical condition. I also explained that my medical insurance has covered retinal imaging for the past three years at my previous eye care center as an alternative. I was told this would need to be checked. I was then sent back to the waiting room and, roughly 20 minutes later, brought to the imaging area. At that time, I was told there was no clear answer regarding coverage, but that the photos would be done anyway. During this interaction, Dr. Cash came in, examined my eyes, and instructed the technician to proceed with the photos. At no point during any of these conversations was I informed that I would be financially responsible for the imaging, nor was I asked for consent to proceed knowing there would be an out-of-pocket charge. Based on my prior experience and the information provided, I reasonably assumed the photos would be covered by my medical insurance as they had been in previous years. After completing my exam,which I would like to note was handled very thoroughly and professionally by Dr. Boyd,I was taken to the lobby to select glasses and check out. It was at this point that I was informed I would be charged for the imaging. When I questioned this, I spoke with the manager, Benja. Unfortunately, her response was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to explore any resolution or attempt to work with me regarding the charge, despite the lack of disclosure beforehand and the fact that the photos were ok'ed by Dr. Cash. Benja's attitude and refusal to assist were extremely disappointing and left me feeling disrespected as a patient. This interaction ultimately overshadowed the positive experiences I had with Jasmyn and Dr. Boyd, both of whom were friendly, accommodating, and thorough. This was my family's first visit to your practice, and due to this experience, we will not be returning. I have also shared this incident with family and friends who currently use or were considering your center, and they have expressed similar concerns about trust and transparency as a result. This outcome is unfortunate, especially given the strong recommendations I had received prior to scheduling my appointment. I believe patients should be clearly informed of any charges before services are performed, particularly when alternatives are discussed and prior coverage history is communicated. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve patient communication, billing transparency, and management interactions moving forward

Last fall I switched to Schaeffer Eye Center located in the Providence area of Huntsville. The service was fantastic and although the selection of frames is less than Lenscrafter's, Schaeffer still had a good selection to choose from. The thing that surprised me the most when I bought my glasses was the low price. Given Schaeffer's is not a nationwide franchise I expected the prices to be higher, but to my surprise they were much lower. So good service, adequate selection, and low price. Overall very good. Moving from last fall to today: I was working in the yard and a large piece of concrete hit my face and scratched my glasses. I went back to get a new pair and the lady checked my file and said the glasses were under warranty and they would order new lenses for me. What a pleasant surprise! Dr Sullins is one of the best eye doctors I have ever visited. He is very caring and personable…read moreduring your appointment and answers any questions or concerns you may have. His staff has always been absolutely amazing, normally on time and it is very fast paced but not rushed. Check in with the front desk and either grab a seat to read a magazine or look around for new glasses. Once they call you, the appointment starts and all the eye test and check ups are done. Dr Sullins comes to discuss what plan of action we should take (I am about as blind as a bat). If I have any questions he explains the answers, and if I am trying a new lenses the explanation of the lenses material and reviews from other customers are given. Once the new prescription is given and contacts I am given the option for glasses or contracts or both, depends on your insurance and your funds. They do take VSP which is phenomenal. The staff also does not rush or pressure you to buy glasses or contacts. They let you look and take your time. I recommend all family and friends to Dr Sullins, our family has started within the past 3 years, and we will continue to be patients!

At that time, I paid my co-pay and out-of-pocket for retinal photos. I received a surprise bill on September 24, 2025, for $150 "surgery copay" for collagen plugs. In total I made 9 phone calls and one trip to the office to try and get this sorted out. I had been in communications with Monica throughout the process of trying to get the bill sorted out. Monica told me that they would write off the $150 surgery copay back on September 25, 2025. I thought the bill was sorted until I received another bill on December 30, 2025, for $100.00. I went in on January 13, 2026, to once again get this sorted out. I sat down with Monica, and she told me that it should be "fixed" now and that yes, Dr. Watson agreed to write off the surgery copay. I received the bill again via email, on February 22, 2026. I called left another message on February 24, 2026, for Monica. It is March 2, 2026, and she has yet to call me back. I don't have time to continue the back-and-forth after I was told twice that the issue was resolved. I paid the bill as of March 2, 2026, but I will not be going back.

But when I asked to send them back the reply was "what do you want done? Just chop them off!" I said " gee I don't know. Could they could just file or melt. I don't really know what they will do." So I picked them up today and I was told they were wet and not to wear them for a while. So after drying they were rough with little spikes like roughness where the round circle was!
