On the afternoon of January 28th, my visit to the Target on 23rd Street began with a simple mission - to pick up a few random items. However, my attention quickly shifted when I stumbled upon a couple of captivating Lego sets that prompted me to make an impulsive decision, resulting in a substantial $600 purchase of three distinct sets, each valued at nearly $200.
The excitement from our Lego haul was short-lived, as my wife and I soon realized the need for storage bins to organize the multitude of pieces. Opting for convenience, we decided to stop by the Target in Lakewood at the Lakewood Town Center, closer to our home. Little did we know that this visit would take an unexpected turn.
Upon reaching the Lakewood store, our shopping experience took a regrettable turn when we encountered an employee named Rox. She confronted me with accusations of cutting in line at the self-checkout. Unbeknownst to me, I had inadvertently entered through the wrong line, missing a small sign that could have spared me from the ensuing embarrassment.
As I approached the only open self-checkout register, Rox, who seemed to be in a managerial role, raised her voice and publicly berated me for cutting in front of other customers. The situation escalated as she directed me to a different line, opening more registers in self-checkout. Expressing confusion, I was met with further condescension, and Rox made disparaging remarks about me to other customers in line.
Feeling humiliated, I sought assistance from what appeared to be a store manager to address the situation. Instead, Rox followed, continuing her combative behavior, raising her voice, and offering no resolution. This unwarranted confrontation prompted me to reconsider my shopping allegiance.
Despite my significant expenditure at the store, I returned every item purchased from the Lakewood store, totaling nearly $600. Frustrated and disheartened by the lack of respect and professionalism displayed by Rox, I opted to reorder every product from Amazon. This experience has left me with a sour impression of Target's customer service, and as a result, I have chosen to take my business elsewhere. Target, despite its vast inventory, will no longer be receiving my patronage if this is the treatment customers can expect. read more
