I have to give Target four stars. I cannot give them less, because...well, because it's Target. I love this store! This is the first time I have ever been to the Target in Hampton. Upon entering, there is a Starbucks to your left (as many seem to have them now). The Starbucks could have been a little cleaner, but the girls behind the counter were pretty great. They were super friendly and got the orders perfect. The store was just like any Target. It was clean and open with plenty of space in the aisles and no clutter. There is always a great variety of items which makes you not want to leave empty handed. I was impressed by the gluten-free section which not only carried gluten-free products, but higher quality brands at very reasonable prices. Their produce was comparable in appearance to any of the local grocers, but a tad high. The one thing I didn't care for in this location is that the temperature in the store was a bit cool and not comfortable. At first I thought it was from being near the front of the store with doors opening and closing constantly, but it was pretty chilly throughout. read more

Bathrooms are always nasty no matter what time of day you go there. Other than that, it's fine. I really like grocery shopping there.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't ask for a bandaid if merchandise falls on your hand and makes it bleed profusely. Customer service might tell your cashier to turn off their light while you've been waiting in line behind another customer doing several transactions (using coupons) while she turns on another register allowing other people to come into her line without inviting you to her line first, when you have been the only other customer in line. read more

I visited target in Hampton for the very first time this week and I had two very strange encounters. I was shopping with an older friend of mine and when we were done we had worked our way to the back of the store being unfamiliar with the store we had gotten turned around. She saw a stock person and asked him "how do we find The exit?" irritated,He quipped "the same way you came in" .. embarrassed for my friend I said to him are you saying that you don't know where the front of your store is? He sneered. After wandering a bit more we did find the front of the store and went to customer Service to ask for a particular item that was advertised as being sold at the Hampton store (cinnamon crest toothpaste) . At customer service I encountered Bridgette and asked her to do a search just to be sure that they did indeed normally Carry the item. to which she answered "if you didn't find it we must be out of it" Since there was no one in line I asked her again can you just look it up to see if your store normally does carry the item so I can check another time - reluctantly she pulled out her hand held and started looking ... Although I gave her the complete name of the product she decided she would look up "cinnamon" a few seconds later she said I found cinnamon candy" I said to her "you put in crest toothpaste cinnamon flavor and you got cinnamon candy??" She said "Oh no, I didn't put in toothpaste" Finally, I left the store - forever. read more

Love this store- visit almost daily. Have everything from trendy clothes to a decent food and gorgeous home goods. The only complaint I have is that every time I've been to the pharmacy (seizure meds so monthly twice now) there has been a mishap and I've also seen a lot of others upset over mishaps. I am going to go out of convenance but if they keep messing up, I will have to switch to a different pharmacy. And the employees- Phaeacian included- have always been nice. read more

There is always an issue when I come to this location. I've ordered items online to be picked up in the store and it's never a smooth process. They can never find my order in their system and even when I've shown proof of purchase and confirmation emails to prove it says my items are ready, they take 20 mins to get the item in the back. I've been twice now where their system "just shuts down" and they can only take cash. Associates have told me to use their ATM but who wants to pay a convenience fee when it shouldn't cost you?! I know I can't be the only one that doesn't carry cash all the time! The associates are nice for the most part but are never very eager to fix the solution and just say "come back later.." This target location is more of an inconvenience rather than a convenience. read more

I go to this Target store all the time. The store is always clean and the racks of clothes and other merchandise are tidy and easy to find in the sizes I need for my family. I agree with others that parking can be a pain but that's typical of a major chain store. The friendliness and availability of the workers could be improved. read more

Several managers (5) standing up front calling for backup when one of them could have easily assisted. As I was checking out a face wash was left in my cart that I didn't see when I put my items on the belt. A lady manager came over to my cart and grabbed the item and said "did you plan on paying for this?" I've been a RedCard holder for 10+ years, a former ETL, and a loyal customer. I should return my whole purchase today. What a terrible experience! No, I didn't want to steal a $3 face wash. I'll be doing the rest of my holiday shopping elsewhere for sure! read more

This is the worse Target I have ever been to. When u first move here from Newport News, I had my script move to there. That was the biggest mistake I had ever did. They said that I had already picked up my script and I never did. I had to fight with them and finally got help from the Target in Newport News. That was almost a year ago. Then just because they were closer I decided to goto the Hampton target because it was closer. I went in to get coffee from Starbucks but the line was so long... All the way to the exit doors.. I thought I would just wait and get some on the way out. I then went to get water that was on sale at Walgreens and the local grocery store but they would not price match them because they said they are not thier could competitor. I went back to get coffee and again the line was so long and there was only one person working. I really felt bad for the lady working there busting her ass off. Waited almost 35 minutes to order my drink and then another 20 minutes to get it.... While I was waiting, I told the lady it wasn't her fault that she is slammed and that someone else should be helping her. By that time I had lost it... I asked for a Manager, waiting for the manager for over 20 minutes. Her name was Tiffany Black. I explained everything to her and the only the she had to say was she was sorry and no one told her that Starbucks was slammed... How can no one notice it wasn't slammed with people wanting? The checkout lines are right in front of Starbucks. A really lame accuse. Then she still wouldn't honor the price match. At the same time all I got was I'm sorry and no reason for me to come back or to let me know that they will make sure they fix the issue or give me any reinsurance that the matter would be fixed. I don't know how she became Lead Manager but she didn't fix anything and didn't sound confident that she would at all. This store has always had issues and I really don't ever see it changing. I will NOT be going to this Target anymore. Thier standards are really low. I am originally from California and all the Targets there are great. This Target, I would avoid as much as you can. The management sucks and they really don't care about you. Another note, if you call customer service to call complain to them, they only ask your name... No number, no address no anything...i asked if I was going to be getting a call back about the issue and they said no, but here is your case number. Really? Again, no reinsurance that they are going to do the right thing. Why is it that customer service is getting worse and worse everywhere you go? What happen to the days where companies and people do the right thing??? I guess it is all about capital greed. Very sad!! read more

I used to enjoy shopping at the Target in Hampton. Lately, not so much. The apparel department (sportswear for women) used to be organized and fun to shop. Now the fixtures are crammed into the shopping area and carts are hard to maneuver in the confined space. The fitting rooms used to be clean and well maintained, now they are full of other shopper's unwanted selections and dirty with no attendant to keep the area clean. Today there was one cashier. One. When I was checking out, there were 9 people in line behind me (I counted). Peninsula Town Center is growing as we speak with new restaurants and shops joining the shopping center. I understand that staffing and payroll may be an issue, however, to have more on staff would be a great return on investment. On the plus side, the grocery side is better maintained than the soft lines side. read more

I can't figure out of its the Starbucks or the bathrooms that make it smell like urine when I first walk into the store. The store is clean and prices are a bit higher but I will much rather pay it to be able to get around in the store without rude people blocking the aisles with carts and kids and cashiers open to ring your purchases up than Wal-Mart anytime. read more

I loved Target before it moved to the PTC now I love it more. It's a beautiful store and a great location.Normally I come the Target for home decor and other personal items that I could get from Walmart, but prefer to go to Target. Great layout, nice and clean and neat as the any establishment should be. read more
