A few weeks ago my upstairs A/C was being examined at the start of its semi-annual checkup. The associate notified me that the air handler in the attic was dropping its insulation from within, and this would create a problem with continuing the standard semi-annual checkup. This necessitated scheduling an associate on a different day to basically rebuild the air handler. Understandably this was a long project through the day but was completed to our satisfaction. QUALITY: The different associates whom we have seen over a long period of time have been exceptionally professional and courteous. VALUE: Everyone decides what they describe as value. For us it's the confidence that our A/C units will work through the summer and winter year after year. Having a service agreement gives us that peace of mind. SUMMARY: These people have demonstrated exceptional courtesy (every phone call is a new pleasant greeting, every time). One has to have trust in the service people with whom they do business. To make matters worse, he mentioned that if I decided to postpone the repair until the next day, the cost would somehow decrease to around $800. This seemed highly suspicious, especially considering the fact that the part was still under warranty and I would have only been responsible for covering the labor charges. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts and declined his offer. As it turns out, the actual cost of the repair turned out to be a mere $225. The significant difference between the initial quote and the actual cost was truly shocking and disheartening. It was clear evidence of the company's dishonesty and attempt to take advantage of customers like myself. Overall, I am deeply disappointed with Jorge's lack of transparency and integrity. It is incredibly important for businesses to be honest and ethical in their operations, and regrettably, this company failed to uphold those values. Update: The response from Jorge regarding my review makes matters worse. He denies ever going to my property and misrepresents the circumstances (there was no other AC company that worked on this job - Jorge was the 1st one to come out). Jorge lacks integrity and is extremely dishonest. See pictures attached for proof that he was at my property. Stay way from this company. Just be honest Jorge and don't rip people off. Outstanding Emergency Service and Quick Response!…read more We had an unexpected HVAC emergency on a Sunday morning and needed help before the problem caused further damage. Our neighbor alerted us that our outdoor HVAC unit was making a loud noise while the fan was running. When we investigated, it appeared that a snake had become caught in the unit (see photos). We first contacted the HVAC company where we have a maintenance plan, but they couldn't send a technician until Monday afternoon. Since we were concerned about the potential for further damage, we wanted the problem addressed as soon as possible. Based on recommendations from friends and neighbors, we called Family Air Conditioning & Heating around 9:30 a.m. Someone answered promptly and was able to dispatch a technician that same morning. We were given an arrival window of 9:30-11:30 a.m. and received a text confirmation along with a photo and background information about our technician, Ricky. Even better, Ricky arrived within 30 minutes of our call! Ricky was knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. He explained what he was doing throughout the process. After removing the snake's head from the top of the HVAC unit, he thoroughly cleaned the fan blades and vacuumed the bottom of the unit, where the remaining parts of the snake's body were located. He also checked for potential electrical damage. We were extremely pleased with Family Air Conditioning & Heating's responsiveness, especially on a Sunday, and the quality of the technical service we received on such short notice. When you're dealing with an unexpected problem and are concerned about possible damage to an expensive piece of equipment, having someone respond quickly and take the time to do the job thoroughly makes all the difference. After one and a half hours, I called back to let them know I did not need their service. My neighbor was able to help me the following morning. I get a text at 10:30 PM Saturday evening, saying my technician had arrived. I was not home and I quickly texted back saying I had canceled the service call. I had a contract with them to check on my system every six months. Well, they never checked anything of importance since the Freon was extremely low, and there was a buildup of bacterial gunk that was never cleaned out. I have canceled my contract with them and want to warn other customers to make sure they do their job since they did not do that for me.

I also sent them a picture of the actual unit inside. They said they will send a tech to view an outside unit so they'll be able to identify which unit the inside actually is. I got approved after a hard credit inquiry and on the day of install, they said they cannot replace the AC unit because they dont service that type of AC unit. Instead of admitting fault, they also made excuses that the original unit was modified, etc after the tech viewed it, I then asked him to send pictures. When the pictures were not sent they said building didnt allow them in. In essence, they lied about seeing the actual unit on install day. I then asked them to assist me with reversing the hard credit inquiry and they did not respond or do anything to assist. This hard inquiry dropped my score by around 10 points!
