Where do I even start? The amount of complaints I have filed. The drivers not coming to the right address. Then claiming I was a "no show." The drivers getting gas, coffee, napkins before and after they drop me off from my destination. Being late for work. You should already be prepared. Being left outside for hours. Driving fast. One driver can never remember where I live when they have taken me home multiple times. Having road rage. I got a letter and it felt very discriminating but was explained later on. Public transport is the backbone of any major city. We NEED Tarc. However, the grants and money need to go to MORE routes, not less. I say this as Tarc cuts, and condensed, quite a few routes. The buses tend to run late, without any real-time data for the rider, most of the time. The drivers are not friendly, respectful, or helpful. The buses are not cleaned daily either. This is BS.... The whole committee should do something about the Tarc situation, these drivers need to learn to stay focused to all the bus stops that people are on, especially at night, They are more likely to pass us up and not pay attention. I don't know if they know there are bus stops available or just not want to pick up customers. Some bus stops do have lighted entry and some do not, they need to have more street lights available for all bus stops so bus drivers can see at night. And Bus drivers need to start paying more attention to the people that are on the bus stops, not doing their own thing. Something needs to be done. read more

If you have the option to take other means of transportation then do it. I understand this is a city bus station but they love to leave people stranded. When you call they just say you should have checked the website. No you should find someone to run the routes till there end times. Because of them people have gotten stranded and lost jobs. If you are a TARC rider, yay! If you have never been on the TARC, give it a try! If you have never been on public transit...shame...shame... I love public transits. I take them whenever I have a chance. TARC's vehicle conditions are about the same as the many other public transits I have taken: Cinti, Chicago, LA, NYC, Seattle, DC, Baltimore...etc. The passengers are generally the same, too. They range from tired commuters to curious tourists. Almost everyone I met on the bus have been very courteous or they just keep to themselves. No one has ever bothered me. I particularly like the new LouLift *free* electric Rt #1 Bus. It is not only free to ride; it also has free wifi!! What more could we ask for? You can take this from downtown all the way to Churchill Downs! On the way, you could stop by the Speed Art Museum, U of L campus, the Filson Historical Socieity...the possibilities are endless. Of course I do wish the runs are more frequent and more timely, but hey, this is a leisure route. Relax, you don't have to fight the ever-present construction downtown. Take in the view and enjoy the wifi! read more

there is a bus that goes to GE appliances in the morning that arrives at 5:50 AM. The shift starts at 5:54 AM and there is a couple of minutes to get all the way to the building. Tart needs to send the bus here earlier in the mornings to get people here on time if they have a contract with GE appliances. read more

tarc has employees that do not care about serving their community. I have been riding the bus for a year now and have had the worst experience. If I could not ride I wouldn't. It gets me from point a to point be but everyday it seems to be an issue. read more

I have seen drivers yell at old people, during the outbreak they never took the virus seriously, they passed by me 7 times in one month even though I was in the right spot, They would put one bus on the route because of construction happening in one place, they never respond back, I had walk home or to work multiple times because they wouldn't have a bus. read more

I had a Bus trip from Hell on Sunday. I was going to my favorite shopping place .My bus didnt show, then the next one ,one hour later was late. What was worse. A lady in a wheel chair came we asked the driver to wait (did he) no. I called Tarc on Monday. Had conversation about the Drivers not showing up, and she was right I could have left earlier not waited till middle day. When they change shifts, that's were problems is. She explained how they are trying hard hire new drivers, ,. I agree, we depend greatly on Tarc, and if it can wait till week day wait. Weekends are getting bad. Drivers are working Doubles. The fare is so reasonable riding TARC. Eccentric people watching at its finest. The buses that I've taken have all been on time. The drivers have all been helpful and friendly. There are plenty of routes to choose from to get where you need including Southern Indiana. I've even let my teen take the TARC when I couldn't get her to places she needed to go. Absolutely horrible service, the drivers are constantly late up to 10 mins, especially the 29 bus.everyday they are supposed to be at eastern parkway and bardstown road at 4:11, and every day they sit across the street right passed the light for 5 to 10 mins. So everyday when they are supposed to be at my stop, I'm looking at the buses back end waiting for them to get a move on. read more

LouLift: TARC needs to decide if this free service is for tourists or locals. Rode #1Route and bus stopped at multiple places to let locals off/on. None of these were remotely interesting to visitors. . . Most were marginal parts of the city. Additionally the 10 to 20 minute wait time was more like 30 to 45 minutes. Very unpleasant experience overall. We were hoping to get a scenic ride out to Churchill Downs/Derby Museum but were treated to a smelly, hot, bumpy trip thru deteriorating neighborhoods. read more

Way back in the year 2005 i was walking to the bus stop at Faegenbush Ln in Buechel pulling a wheeled suitcase. It was about 4:30 am. I made sure i was early since i had to drag my bag along. I see the bus driver pull into the neighborhood, see me on my way to the bus stop then floor it & bypass the stop & whole neighborhood. I missed my plane because of that. TARC simply stated "i was not in the bus stop". They didn't do anything to the driver that bypassed the stop alltogether & early at that! There was no yelp in 2005. However i never forgot. I honestly started back riding due to car issues and with Covid going on I was very hesitant to ride. Since I've been riding when do they clean the buses? Like even before Covid the buses needed cleaning. I feel like this should be a necessary duty at the end of the night. The tarc transportation has fallen off direly. They are never on time. Like ever. Have a back up plan to get to work. A blind woman with no arms and an attitude problem operating a rickshaw with a bad wheel would get you to where you need to go faster than this pathetic excuse of public transportation. read more

Just horrible... They apparently cannot keep or hire enough drivers, which almost always says something about the employer--poor management. They did not have enough drivers this morning, so they just cancelled two routes with no online warning or updates. Despicable. Poor husbandry of public money!!!! read more

Terrible! One morning when I was going to work and the bus was running late due to traffic which I understand I was on the oldham county bus and I had to transfer to bus 18 @4th and market Google maps was giving me directions the bus driver saw my ups badge and told me to get off and try to catch the bus on Preston street and I had no idea where that was because I'm new to Louisville I was stranded downtown walking around trying to find the bus and I have high functioning autism I was freaking out because I was late for work I called my dad and had to convince him to leave his work to come pick me up. I had too take work off that day because I was so worked up along with that people downtown were staring and some were making fun of me when I was upset.none of them new that I had autism.because of this experience I had to quit my job at ups.because there was other way to get to work. read more

I know nobody cares and won't respond to this review, but I am taking upon myself to write it. There is a problem with the driver on the route down muhammad ali, the lane YOUR bus and unskilled driver narrow with no warning. I have lines marking my driving lane which I use, apparently YOUR driver doesn't. Twice he/she has invaded my lane (because I am already there and YOUR driver who is oblivious takes 4 feet of my lane to keep going) Did I mention I was in the lane. He or she is a moron and YOU who employee such person are questionable at best. Either you need to have someone widen the lane so the bus can hog it, or your going to have an accident which will be the buses fault. Again nobody cares we are wasting our breath complaining to closed ears. Maybe I should call our joke of a Mayor, he probably won't care either. I rode the bus for a couple of months--got dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon at the bus stop in front of University Hospital, which was two blocks from where I worked. There's not a worse bus stop in town--people were always asking me for money, the bus stop reeked of cigarette smoke and was full of cigarette butts and smokers. I didn't feel safe being dropped off there or being picked up there. I asked TARC several times if they could move the stop from the one in front of the hospital, to an existing bus stop right across the street which would have been much cleaner and safer. I never got a 'no answer; rather, they ignored my emails after a few weeks. So I quit riding. The drivers were mostly all very nice and accommodating, the price was right but the drop off/pick up point was suitable only for drug addicts and beggars. read more
