I walked to the tranquil downtown Coyoacan area and saw La Casa de los Tacos was open, so porque no? The girls were so nice. And they were open with a few diners inside. It was kind of empty and chill, but the ambiance was festive and exciting due to the music and activities going on in el parque nearby. I was so hungry I wanted to eat everything, so I got the tacos con chapulines (HELLA FIRE) and a side plate of arroz con platanos. I also ordered a beer, but that never came out. Their salsas are hella good. Especially that insane truffle one, who knew! It was SO good. The pan fried platanos were so delicious and the perfect little craving I needed for a sweet treat afterwards. They accept cash and card, and make sure you tip you extranjero/turista!

They started a simple tromp in a corner with just 4-5 seating spots, and where people from the neighborhood used to order their tacos to-go. Fast forward to 2019 and this simple taqueria now has indoor seating, TVs playing sports, and two al pastor trompos! My go-to order is their tacos al pastor planchados. Planchados means that they will cook the meat a little longer and with some burnt parts. Their meat is always super flavourful and of really good quality. Their salsas are also pretty amazing and my favorite ones are the orange and green one. This taqueria is not on a tourist area of town but if by any chance you find yourself near this area, I highly recommend them!
