Food: The chips and salsa are very good. Salsa has a good kick, but it's addicting The chicken tacos weren't bad, meat was a bit bland, but it did come with a lot of meat Crispy taco had an interesting taste. Couldn't tell if it was the meat, or the shell Service: not bad. Friendly staff, just a busy night, & didn't get to see her much Ambiance: a bit loud. Crowded, & music was up a bit, making people talk louder haha Prices are a bit high, but for the portion sizes, it's not bad. About $15 and up per plate read more

Ordered a burrito without sour cream and it was filled with sour cream. Also ordered Chips and guacamole and they didn't give me either of those. It was delivered via Uber Eats but the store said I would have to drive the burrito back to their store and show them the sour cream or there was nothing they could do. Absolutely do not recommend. read more

True disappointment food was flavorless tacos were similar to those at Taco Bell. I would not recommend this place. The beans were just awful. They don't have any alcohol other than beer I would look for other places if you're looking for Mexican food in Carlsbad read more

First appearances can be deceiving. When we were seated, the service was great. Then when the food came out, it was really good. I had chicken tacos. Don't pass this place up and enjoy a great meal. You won't be disappointed. read more

Who needs a half-ass Yelp review when the parking lot is consistently a testament to how good this place is? We came here on 04.23.24, after attempting to have dinner at a local brewery that doesn't serve alcohol. Parking lot space - good luck finding one. This place is always packed to the gills with hard working locals looking for a satisfying meal at a great price. My go-to when in NM - enchiladas, Christmas-style. This place does the unique, and honestly genius move of not only using two salsas on these, but of also using two different cheeses that complement each salsa and flavor profile. Red sauce gets yellow cheese; green sauce - you get the white. Fantastic. Beans and rice also good - but I saved my appetite for the enchiladas. Oh, and the chips and salsa? Superb. Definitely worth a visit. Spread the word or just drive by and check out that parking lot. read more

Tasty Mexican spot with classic plates. Came here after visiting the Carlsbad Caverns and we had a delicious meal. I opted for the camarones a la plancha while my friend got the adobo pork plate. The shrimp was grilled to perfection and went well with the sautéed onions and green bell peppers. There was a small side salad with avocado slices on the side with the rice and beans. Complimentary salsa and chips were provided. There is a small cash discount but credit cards are accepted. Parking is available. Service was friendly but very slow. It's good for families. The vibes are casual. Overall, a good place to have a reasonably priced, filling meal. read more

Great spot for tasty Mexican food! The place was pretty crowded for dinner time and seemed like a local favorite. Service was friendly but a little slow. I got the adobo plate with corn tortillas and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The red sauce was pretty good, and everything was well seasoned. I liked that the vegetables that the plate came with was really fresh. Big portion as well. Parking out front and bathroom available. read more

Great food. Carne asada was some of the best I've had. But my child ordered a meal and the waitress misheard her. When the food came and we pointed it out they refused to admit the mistake. Made us take the plate because they couldn't take it back to the kitchen, but then charged us for it and wouldn't take it off the ticket. Other wise it would have been 5 stars. read more

This isn't a bad stop, but we were a little disappointed with the flavors of the food being bland. Our service was quick and food was hot, but we expected much more after hearing many recommendations to come here. read more

Delicious carne guisada and the best cheese enchiladas I've ever had. The green chile burrito is as big as your head. The restaurant is filled with locals, which gives it authenticity vibes. Service is friendly and fast. Definitely recommended! I'm giving 4 stars because it's not a fine dining establishment--but we'd definitely come back if we ever roll through Carlsbad again. read more

Food and service is just satisfactory for being in NM would have anticipated more authentic tex mex.

Food was delicious! Portions good for lunch. Waitress was pleasant and on top of her service. Local restaurant with local people and ambiance. No wimpy salsa for hubby who doesn't like spice! read more

Pros: We were fed. It was fast and not expensive. Cons: Mediocre flavors at best. The shiny, weird tasting Guacamole is a crime against avocados. My enchilada sauce was a frighteningly unnatural shade of neon red. Clearly this place is a favorite of many. It was slammed busy. It has high ratings. It is not for me, one visit was more than enough. read more

Good food and a wide selection. Guac was good, salsa for chips was hot, and Margaritas were refreshing.

Best pork chili verde Ive ever had! Nice waitress and host. Lovely interior. Five stars all the way

Enjoyed the food, very big portions! Fast service, food came out quickly once I decided what to have.

Great service and food. Much better than I expected. Was told beer and wine only but they had great margaritas. read more

Stop by on a road trip and I hope I can come back someday. The food and service were both wonderful.

My Uber driver recommended this place... very glad he did! Considering how many Mexican restaurants taste the same this place stands alone! Food was very good and service on point. Decor was casual, beer was cold! I will definitely come back when I roll through. read more

Fast and lovely service, great prices. Food was overal pretty meh. It definitely could've used more seasoning or cheese or sauce or something but most of it felt dry and tasteless. We got the burrito/enchilada/hard taco combo, a quesadilla, a tamale, and the popusa platter. All of it just felt like meat plus carb. The rice, beans, and pico de gallo were all delicious though, and so was the horchata. read more

Delicious food, reasonable prices, great atmosphere. Definitely eat here anytime you're in Carlsbad

Delicious burrito with quality meat! There's nothing worse than biting into a burrito with a big piece of fat in it. Their burrito had quality carne asada, chopped fine and no unpleasant bites. The margaritas were pretty delicious too. As one reviewer said, the parking lot is always full. This is where the locals eat. They did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and gracious. Our food came out really fast. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. read more

Wow! I would give 10 stars if I could! We stayed at a hotel down the street and were looking for dinner nearby. Had take out- meat is fantastic (had carne asada and adobada), tortillas/tacos are good quality.

If I had this place here in cali I would become a regular. But for now it will be a spot that I can guarantee I will come back for. First time trying sopalpillas and would have them again. Their mini tacos were delicious and filling. And the frijoles charros were just the best to finish off with my tacos. Definitely going back!!! read more

We had the most fabulous meal here! My husband and I were looking for a nearby Mexican food restaurant while visiting the area. This rated the best so we thought we'd give it a whirl. We were warmly greeted, seated and promptly provided chips and salsa. The chips are nice and firm and easily stood up to the most delicious salsa I've ever eaten. Yes, it has a bit of a kick but not too bad, unless you can't handle any heat. I ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla and my husband ordered The Chile Verde. The shrimp in my quesadilla was perfection and accompanied by a creamy, delicious guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. My husband's Chile Verde...oh my lord! When I tell you the meat was tender, I mean so tender it nearly melted in your mouth. It was packed full of flavor and was accompanied by fresh tortillas, beans and rice. The portions were such that we decided if we are ever able to visit again, we'll order the same meals and split it in half so we can enjoy a bit of each. The vibe is inviting and relaxed. I'm so glad we found this gem! read more
