It's…read morebeen a few years since I walked into this local establishment & I decided to give them another chance. Maybe watching few seasons of The Bear made me more empathic to a small business. I use to work in a small cafe back in the day so working in food service can be trying sometimes. I noticed they have added some menu items and Friday/Saturday dining options as well. Today they had a Monday feature of Tri-Tip Sandwich with either fries or fresh fruit. A free drink was included and I chose lemonade with cucumber and fresh mint. OMG that was delicious. They also had several flavors, strawberry-Hibiscus, strawberry, raspberry, and the cucumber mint lemonade. I chose to dine in and I received my food hot. The fries were perfect. Crispy and not greasy. I chose a hot chipotle ranch & ketchup. Yah, being a vegetarian is hard. I wasn't vegetarian today. I tore up that sandwich and left no crumbs ok maybe the butt end of the roll but that's for Buddha. While waiting I saw the advertisement for Friday night dinners & Saturday Brunch with Mimosas & Micheladas. It's just two staff so go easy on them. They off a 3% discount if you pay in cash. They also accept tap pay. Cool tunes too. Until next time. . .SYOYelp

Yes, but just barely because of the salmon salad and not for the large price increases…read more Only problem is all the gas stations at this location charge a lot more than other stops on I-5 (this visit $1 more than the Love station further north). HAVE AGAIN: Salmon salad is wonderful. Have this every time. NOT HAVE AGAIN: The kids burrito with BBQ beans, rice and tri-tip could be delicious but the beef is in large chunks and very unpleasant for kids (or adults) to eat.

We happened to come for gas around lunch time and decided to try the food at Wild Jacks. Burnt Ends Burrito: Brisket, tri-tip, rice, beans, chipotle cheddar cheese, wild jack's ranch. The burnt ends are the most desired part of a Brisket. This one tasted more like leftover meat and I couldn't taste any of the burnt ends. This is a very good way to get rid of leftover scraps but they should change the name. Pulled Pork Nachos: Had a nice looking color from the salsa but the pork was dry and not that great. Sweet Potato Fries: They had that cornstarch coating that some places do to make the fries more crunchy, tasted OK but I prefer them as normal fries. Kid's Cheeseburger: A bit bland and normal for the price we paid, I think they would have enjoyed the McDonald's one more.

We stop here while we were on the road. They have stores inside and this restaurant and a bar…read more Their patio is not open so they are not accepting animals only service animals. Our dog is a certified service animal and because of that they were able to give us a table. We waited like 10 min and we were greeted pretty quick. Food is pretty expensive but tasty so is worth the stop. Along with the menu they gave us the requirements of the behavior of the service animal. I would love that they apply same structure of service for people who dine with toddlers and children's that do not behave. They throw tantrums and is pretty upsetting and disrupt the environment of the guest surrounding that table. My dog behave as she should compared to the table next to me who had a toddler who ... well... was screaming and crying .... I hate flies and there were a couple inside the restaurant... No more notes!

We stopped by Harris Ranch and had mixed feelings about the experience…read more The sirloin steak was actually pretty good--well-cooked and flavorful. However, the prime rib was just average and definitely not worth the price they're charging. For a place known for steak, I expected more consistency. The bread was a letdown--cold and hard, which is surprising given the overall pricing. When you're paying premium steakhouse prices, you expect better quality across the board, especially with sides and basics like bread. Service was also just okay. We waited longer than what I'd consider normal for a dinner service, and nothing really stood out in terms of attentiveness. That said, the setting is nice and it's a convenient stop if you're driving north. But honestly, it's not worth going out of your way for ( paid $120 for 2)

On a road trip, my friend Denise and I were looking for a convenience store in roads that were not…read morepaved with cement nor were they in the center of a chic boutique and a hits-the-spot every time boba shop. Yes, we were basically on dirt roads that saw a few scattered homes here and there, and visible old school phone towers (the brown kind) connected with wires (where crows sit on a row) existed, and not much else. We drove around in some circles, looking for this fabled store and found nothing, not even a Bigfoot. We noted how the moment felt like we were on an Iowa highway because we saw expansive fields and experienced a Middle-America atmosphere. I wanted a small stalk of wheat in between my teeth. As we drove, we saw this place and decided that this joint would replace the store we were looking for. At this point I started to listen to Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas. If you know, you know. As soon as I entered I felt like I had stepped into a diner in the middle of nowhere, the type of spot where brothers talked about saving people, hunting things, you know the family business. My friend Denise did not know what I was talking about and when I tried to introduce the world to her with corny prompts she decided not to play along. Still for a fan the experience was nothing but a win!(chester). I cannot remember the person who helped us but she was a server who reported that she had lived in the surrounding area for most of her life. She was deepening the believe that we were on a route diner neglected by city reality. During this visit, I had fried okra for the first time in my life. It was weird to taste but not in a bad way. More like I had never tasted this texture before in my life. The texture that I had not tried before in my life was a gooey vegetable. Like the texture of the outside was exactly as advertised--- fried goodness. The actual okra was the gooey part. I do not want to sound crass, truly, I do not, but it did feel like enjoying something slimy, and I will leave it at that. Again, not wrong, just weird But I will not get it again. The server- the homegrown one- gave us fried pickles and these were much more to taste. Like, I i have had fried pickles before and I loved them but I had some that were not for me. But these, these, were pickle spears fried to brown goodness, and the mixture hit green- which does not mean go, more like Hulk enjoys, instead of smashes. It was a simple dish yes- green spear pickle fried but sometimes the goodness of a county fair is exactly what a roadtrip snack should be. The fair came to my table and I am not mad at that. On this trip I did have the Willow Dip which I feel is a close cousin to a french dip. What this place did well, at least I think, is putting it on an onion baguette. I am not sure if onion baguette is a middle-of-nowhere bread, but, I allowed it because the taste of the bread was, like tailored made for me, I am a sucker for onion, and not just because it gives me sexy breath. The food was standard, solid fare. Everything was just good nothing wrong with it, all good with it. The sauces were tasty, and added smoky sweet flavor that was welcomed. So this elevated the dish by addding a hickory taste. It did not save the dishes, but did make them better. The decorations were texas heavy. I should have taken more pictures. But sometimes the imagination allows for a space to feel more than at it is.
