Yes, please…read more There are any number of places in Poland in which to get good pierogi - and as much as I'd love the opportunity to try them all, this is the place where we landed today. It's a cozy and very colorful place, with wonderful aromas and old world charm. The service is, well, decidedly European - you can't be in a rush when you get here, and being all "American" about it won't get your food on the table any faster. I've been living in Spain for eight years now and I find table service to be quite a bit slower than in the US. Then again, they aren't chasing you out of the restaurant when you finish eating, either - they give you plenty of time to just chat with your mates and enjoy another round. As for the pierogi? I would GLADLY come back here!

The flavor was "ok" but there was not so much of the nice sirloin to be found. My wife had the grilled octopus and while the octopus itself was tender and well cooked she didnt quite understand the combination of asian influenced flavors like ginger and chili together with somewhat tasteless lentils. Unbalanced dish to be kind. The 90's Music didnt help with the ambiance so i would choose something else next time.

Despite lousy weather we decided to test some of the selection of 20 mainly Polish craft beers on the multitap. The food menu was "typical" pub stuff, but out choice turned out to be delicious; for the lunch we had a vegan bufallo and mariposa salad. All fresh and well combined. Plus free tap water, still not so obvious in the country. Great coffee from the espresso machine afterwards. We had a genuine pleasure to be served and entertained by the owner; the guy was charming and caring. Asked the waitress what she recommended and she first said octopus... Never had octopus and willing to try it but it's my second night in this country and I wanted a bit more comfort food! I asked her for her 2nd choice, hoping she'd say the pulled pork burger! She said Chicken in Mango and my heart sank a bit because I knew You can only reject so many offers before the waitress realises you don't actually want her true recommendation , lol!! So I carefully asked, 'what's the most popular?' I thought I was clever as everyone orders a burger but she said chicken in mango again?!!!!!! So I gave in and ordered the mango.... It was delicious! Lovely chicken in a tasty mango sauce with pineapples, grapes, turnip (I think) served in a small paella-like pan with a small Side of garlic bread. Ordered extra bread as the sauce to bread ratio was a bit imbalanced. It was so nice and much lighter than a burger that it really was the perfect choice for tonight! Staff were really friendly, good attitude to dogs so there were friendly animals about too. I was a bit awkward entering and might have come across as a bit brash or impolite and they were still very nice to me! It's primarily a rum bar with over 50 kinds of rum! Didn't actually get any rum while I was here...probably because of my awkwardness asking for tap water but I'll definitely come back while in gdansk to try some! Anyway I'll free up th corner of the bar now as the nightlife is really picking up now at 21.50 and there is only so much patience even great service people have! Now to a waffle stand!
