Then the breakfast was unpleasant and the coffee not very good. Bring your own. Also we had really hoped to go for a swim in the morning before visiting Hopewell rocks and the pool was green with algae. Apparently he turns it off at night and he did not have it cleaned by morning which would require the addition of chemicals at this point due to the algae. So no pool. Very disappointing. Do NOT recommend. Also the price was high!

Breakfast included but was kind of crappy - but still appreciated. Coffee was good and it was a quick pick me up to start my journey through the east coast. BACKGROUND I…read morerecently went to Toronto for work. I had the opportunity to explore a little and wound up in Sackville, New Brunswick in Canada, which led me to Marshlands Inn. MARSHLANDS INN Marshlands Inn, originally built in the early 1850's, is a throw back to Victorian times and is owned/operated by Mr. and Mrs. Dane. It is not only a fine dining establishment, that seats up to 80, it is also a B&B with 18 gorgeous guest rooms. SERVICE EXPERIENCE I can not rave enough about the service. I had the opportunity to meet both Mr. and Mrs. Dane. They are truly an amazing couple, who put their heart and soul into this business. As you can see in my attached photos, they intricately decorate the Inn for Christmas with trees in each room, and 1000's of ornaments. Mrs. Dane explained that she decorates for each holiday with equal fervor and attention to detail. Famous for their chowder, I had to try it. UNBELIEVABLE! I had Scallops au Pernod as my entrée: a generous helping of scallops that melted in my mouth with a lingering of delightful anisette. They serve the table with the most INCREDIBLE freshly baked breads. CONCLUSION This is the type of restaurant where you leave feeling like you've just had an experience, not just a meal. There isn't much within walking distance for restaurants if you don't have a car; delivery options are limited. The hotel has pool, waterslide and hot tub. However the pool towels are kept at the front desk which to me is awkward. I went to the desk for a towel only to find a sign saying the agent has stepped away, but if you need service to call a certain extension, which did nothing. No one came. Eventually there were 5 of us waiting in the lobby for service. And really who wants to walk through the hotel lobby on their bathing suit to get a towel? It was weird. By the time the agent came back to the desk it was getting close to time for the pool to close. Overall a good stay. Nothing to write home about but not terrible either.
