Extremely disappointed with Tanks Plumbing. We originally hired them to fix a clogged sewer line, but during their work, they broke the sewer line itself. It took 5 days for them to come back to repair it, and after replacing the line, they left a 6-foot hole in our front yard -- which sat open and unfinished for 6 weeks. When it was finally time for the final replacement of the $4,000 sewer line, they showed up a day early without notice, when we couldn't be there to inspect the work. During this rushed job, they broke an irrigation line, failed to pressure test the repair, backfilled the trench without telling us, and then pressured us to sign off on the work, claiming there was "no damage." Only after we found out about the irrigation leak did they admit they had damaged it, and their response was completely unprofessional: "Expose it and show me the leak if you don't want to pay us to dig it up." Absolutely unacceptable level of care, communication, and accountability. I would not recommend Tanks Plumbing to anyone. read more

I just went through a nightmare plumbing emergency--a leaking pipe behind a bathroom wall that was spilling out from behind the wall and through the floor. I needed someone immediately and I called about 10 plumbers all over southern Oregon from Yelp and Google. About half of them weren't taking any new customers at all. The other half couldn't come out until days later at the earliest, while some even couldn't come out for weeks. Tank's was the only one who took my call and had someone come out within the hour! I was honestly leery that no one else would even come out and they came out right away, but to my surprise the plumber was really knowledgeable, fast, and skilled. Oh and they also were very clear about how much it might cost even before they came out and did their best to keep the bill as low as possible, while still fixing the problem. If ever I need a plumber again in southern Oregon, I will call no one else. Tank's has earned my trust for life! read more

Completely Different Issue (when it rains....) I cheated and skipped the office phone and contacted JP directly *I was panicked and desperate*. HVAC people were supposed to start work and found a plumbing leak. Not an easy fix, it was an actual hole in the middle of our 1960's original plumbing (not at a connection point - I could have done that myself). Experienced plumbers are STILL in high demand and it's getting harder and harder to find someone you Know and Trust. 3 year old Hot water heater failed. They were the assigned provider by our home warranty company. They don't do weekends or emergency calls. I was told to email and text the two principals which I did. The owner(s) of Tanks doesn't even answer their phones til 10 am. "My wife turns on the phone at 10 am (their website says they open at 8)" We have been without hot water for two days and when I tried to get an approximate appointment time they texted me "No time frame yet. Probably just will be on the working list and we will call when on our way." They had me email and text them and yet they are so disorganized they cannot even answer the phone or give me an estimate of time and day. It's been a couple of months now since Tank's installed our new hot water heater. So this review is a little late in coming. But the pleasure of plentiful hot water has prompted me to write. In a word, Tank's is terrific! All of the staff that I've dealt with have been professional, knowledgeable and kind. The installer who came out to switch out our old heater was efficient and clearly great at his job. Clayton the owner was responsive to my texts and calls from inquiry about the unit itself to after installation questions about adjustments and such. As a local Realtor I have worked with Clayton at Tank's a few times now and every time he and Sandra have been great to work with. They communicate well, always let me know if they can take on a job or not (no ghosting or not returning calls), and when they can do the work, they do a fabulous job and are always on time. Today Clayton and Sandra went above and beyond by taking care of a small 5 minute fix for free, took pics I needed for another contractor and returned an unused water heater that was purchased by the home owner by accident. Found them based on yelp reviews, decided to give them a go. I clearly communicated 3 things I wanted them to do. They were speedy on getting to the job but failed to complete 2/3 of the work hired. Their tech never communicated with me his repairs or finding, so I had to contact the owner. Super frustrated and disappointed to be billed for a job that was NOT completed. To top it off, they wanted to charge me a $25 late fee while I was still trying to resolve the issue with the owner, who agreed the tech only completed 1/3 of the work hired. As a hard working, honest person I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe this was just a fluke. I get that we all drop the ball from time to time, communication/managing/running a business is a challenge in itself. BUT...If it were not for the many positive reviews they have, this would easily be a 1 star rating from me. They seem like a great firm and all, but when a tech can't perform the duties hired or communicate findings it's a real red flag. I'm still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and the chance for the owner to reach out and make this right. read more

Consumer beware. The scores do not reflect the true situation. Clayton Tank is basically an alcoholic so if you call after 4 pm to reach him, you will be treated very rudely. His long time girlfriend Sandra Baker is the office manager (only office person) and she is a very rude, spiteful and greedy person. Both of these people running this business are not interested in the customer experience. They do have plumbers that work for them who are really good, the problem is that they do not treat their employee plumbers with any respect. The plumbers leave to go work for Hukill's their first chance. Do yourself a favor and call Hukill's first. Avoid this company at all costs. They told me I needed a new pressure valve, then they switched the valve and said it was installed backwards. They told me it would be an additional $150 for switching the valve around and this was not including the trip fee. The office manager Sandra Baker hounded me with emails saying I owed them fees outside of the $75 visit. This plumber has zero customer service sense and no sense for employee and customer retention. I took the time to explain the situation by phone and at least 6 emails. Sandra kept going around and around when the problem was that they failed to bill the situation properly. Thankfully, I am able to work with Hukill's on a frequent basis based upon Sandra Baker and Tank's Plumbing trying to black ball me. This company of Tank's plumbing is a nightmare. Just avoid this company at all costs. read more

Clayton Tank was a great advisor when I called him about a job. He showed up at my house after work the very day I called to take a look. He spent time explaining what he thought I'd want to meet my needs best, as opposed to what Hukill's thought, and I completely agreed. Hukill's wanted to dig a trench that would damage my giant cedar to repair a leak in the main water line. Clayton suggested that it would be best not to patch the line, but replace it as it's 50 years old and the PVC will crack again somewhere else from those roots. Made total sense. It turned out that the special equipment that could bore around the roots sensitively instead of chopping through them was available at another company, and he sent me to them, and I was pleased with the work. But if I ever have another plumbing job, I'll want to give my business to Tank's. Good advice from a pro is priceless! SO many positive reviews from friends, not just about the work, but his reasonable price! They were all very pleased with him. read more

Sandra made sure everything was scheduled and CJ (and Caleb) did the install and were great about explaining the process and best of all they followed through on what they said they were going to do. They are friendly from the moment you call Sandra? to schedule, they show up promptly, their work and site protection is first rate and they are reasonably priced. The last plumber they sent out is a gem, Johnny, very knowledgeable, went the extra mile to get us the right part, came back twice in 45 minutes because of a problem with the part and installed the faucet so quickly and cleanly, I didn't even have a chance to have a cup of tea. Every time I turned on my automatic sprinkler system, flushed a toilet or turned on a faucet the house started shaking and made a loud noise. I thought it was an earthquake. Thank goodness for Tanks Plumbing. After a couple of other plumbers couldn't figure out what was wrong, Tim nailed the problem right away. It was a very complicated procedure, but they diagnosed it and figured out the solution. Honestly, it was like having a surgeon.
