The guys that come out in the field are truly nice and compassionate. However, the secretary/receptionist/ scheduler is one of THE rudest most impolite woman ever. She has no business answering phones because she talks very disrespectfully to the clients and treats them like they are idiots. She acts like she hates her job and she will run customers off. I had water backing up into my tub when I was watering my plants and bubbles coming up into my toilet when I tried to plunge the tub drain. I called Grants Pass Plumbing and they came out to snake the main drain of my house to clear the back up. It seemed to work, but 23 days later when I watered my plants in the bath tub again (for the first time since the snaking), water started to back up again and I had the same issues with the toilet. I called to see if they would come back out to snake the main drain again and I was told that it had been 23 days and "who knows what you've been putting down your drains". I was told that they could come out again, but it wouldn't be under warranty of the first service. I'm very insulted that because they do not know what I've been putting down my drains is something that was actually said to me. We have had Grants Pass Plumbing out to our home (manufactured) for various issues over the last 6 months. They have always been on-time, reasonably priced, honest, friendly, and professional. Linda is the person who does all the scheduling and is right on point. If she is busy getting all the workers out to their assignments that day she will be up front and tell you she will get with you in a little while, she always does. Grants Pass Plumbing will be our go to plumbing co from now on. They have fixed a leak in the wall, installed a new water heater, and fixed a leak under the house. There was only one incident where a guy came out to give us an estimate on the water heater and he wasn't the friendliest (kinda bitchy) but you can't win them all. He didn't do any work, just a quote, which he was $400 over what the office said it would cost. A different tech actually did the install and he was very nice. Jordan was here today and took care of the leak at a minimal cost. Thank you for being such an honest company. read more

Sorry to leave a single star, but that's how I feel after the crappy service and response to our plumbing needs were handled by this joint. We had a stopped up toilet and they came out to clear the line. On their first trip they broke their auger in the line and had to leave the job because they didn't have another snake to use. Came back the next day and augered some more, only to tell me there must be roots in the line. Keep in mind there's still a bunch of crap in the toilet bowl being sprayed around and after several attempts to clear it they failed miserably. I was told that "Bill" (the owner) would now have to come out and estimate what it would cost to jackhammer through the cement slab to get to the pipes. The tech said the line connecting to the main line must be cracked and roots are getting in. I suggested removing the toilet and running a cutting head through the pipe to at least buy me some time and clean things up, but he said they don't do that sort of thing. LOL... The tech (Bill's son) then went out to his van to make some phone calls and get his Dad out for a look. I was then told Bill would be right out to handle the task. Two weeks later. Yes, TWO WEEKS LATER and Bill has never come back nor did we receive any phone calls about when they we coming. Very unprofessional. My wife called a couple times herself to learn "Bill is very busy on big jobs and doesn't know when he can come back"! Are you kidding me??? I have a toilet full of stinky crap and they won't come back to finish the job they started? Seriously!!! Just let that sink in for a moment before you call this place for any of your plumbing needs. Absolute garbage service. The technician they sent out was very kind and patient, he was informative and educational on what our problems were. Although the lady that ran there scheduling was absolutely rude to me and to her technician. I could hear her yelling at the technician while he was calling to get work approved that my home warranty said that would be easily covered. She was rude to me on the phone also and all because she didn't wanna take 5 minutes to call the warranty company. Had an emergency situation during July 4, 2016 weekend, Grants Pass Plumbing never dealt with me before, and out of 6 companies I called they were the ONLY people to come out, do the job right and fix the heating element in our hot water heater. Pricing for last minute same day work, including parts/labor was amazing. After seven months of attempting to have a propane pipe line to my house repaired, Grants Pass Plumbing and Bill did the job, yesterday. Thank you so much! He and his helper (son??) worked on a cold but sunny day in February making needed repairs to the line. Three and a half hours later, they had it back in the ground, pressurized, and fueling my propane range. I was able to use the range, again, for the first time in 3 months. A section of the propane line had emerged from the ground over the course of many years. Last summer through a local propane company, I obtained the card of a man who does gas line work for a living. After coming to the house three times and twice committing to a time period when he would do the job, he did not show up. A skilled handy man attempted to make the repairs but after consulting with some folks at Grovers realized he wasn't qualified. He found another person who might do it. This man visited the house, assessed the situation, and said he would be there the next day. It didn't happen. I started phoning plumbers. Two plumbers I spoke with honestly told me that they didn't want the job -- too hard of work for one; liability issues for the other. Both had worked for me in the past. Two other plumbers I telephoned said they would be over in the next couple of weeks to take a look. They never came. I talked with someone at Grover's who suggested a plumbing company in Medford. I called them. They no longer did that type of work but referred me to another man who did. On his advice, in November we turned off the propane and dug up the line with the expectation that he would then come over to repair it. That didn't happen. Now I had a muddy ditch and 35 feet of pipe decorating the property behind my house to view from my bedroom window. Multiple times during this 7 month period, I considered cutting and capping the pipe, removing the gas range, and going electric. A recent snow storm and lack of electricity dispelled that notion. I wanted my gas range! Only Bill and his team at Grants Pass Plumbing came out, saw what needed to be done, gave me a quote, got me on their schedule, showed up, and did the work. I am very grateful. If I could give Grants Pass Plumbing 10 stars, I would. read more

I have never seen such rudeness. The person in the office (Linda) yelled and threatened me with extra charges to pay for repair services that were contracted by the previous owner. The technician was kind, patient,and helpful but the office was abusive. I will never recommend or deal with these people again. I just wrote a check for $669 for a water heater install. Not the water heater, just the install. I contacted another company first but they were too busy. Their basic install was $250 but were unable to do the install in the time frame I required. I expected there would be additional cost for some new fittings but $400 more no way. If you are thinking of using this company do not have them start work till you have a clear indication of the cost. Grants Pass Plumbing charged me a $135 in labor to go get a fitting they forgot to bring with them and another $204 in parts. Just say no. read more

We used Grants Pass Plumbing to repair a leak in the plumbing under our kitchen sink and also to repair a leaking valve on the water supply line to our toilet in our bathroom in our second home in Oregon. At around 5 pm on a Friday evening, Grants Pass Plumbing arrived at our home (I called very late in the day, so the fact that they showed up at all on the same day was impressive), and I met the plumber, Bill Fairhurst, who turned out to be the owner of the company. We engaged in small talk for a few minutes as I was trying to get a feel of whether I trusted him or not. We immediately hit it off, and then Bill went into our home to take a look at our two plumbing leaks. I was impressed with how thorough he was, and how he did not take any shortcuts to give me a quick free estimate that I would take or leave, but instead, took his time and really examined what the problems were at no cost to me. I was so impressed with Bill that I hired him on the spot, and I had no interest in getting two more free estimates (which is something that I never do). I was expecting Bill to tell me that he would come back on Monday to do the work because it was now after hours on Friday evening, and instead, he told me he would get right to work. Bill fixed our plumbing under our kitchen sink and also told us that part of our leak was coming from our kitchen faucet, so he took it off and rebuilt the internals with parts he had inside his work truck to save us money. Although he fixed the plumbing leak under our sink, he told me he was not satisfied with rebuilding the faucet because it was so old, and he said although it would work for now, he didn't recommend it. Hearing that, I asked him if he would be okay with my running to the local home improvement store to buy a new kitchen sink faucet while he tackled the second leak in our bathroom, and would he install it (it was getting later into the evening on a Friday night). Bill said that wouldn't be a problem, and I was so impressed with how friendly and honest he appeared, I followed up by asking him if he would be okay with me also getting a new sink and faucet for the bathroom counter, and would he install that too. Bill said it wouldn't be a problem and he would take care of it. I quickly got the physical dimensions of the bathroom sink and ran off to the local home improvement center. When I returned, Bill had finished replacing the leaking valve on the water supply line to our toilet, and he went back to the kitchen to replace the faucet on our sink with the brand new one. He did a great job, and did it quickly. What impressed me even more, is how much he tested our kitchen sink to make sure nothing leaked in the plumbing he had just repaired underneath it, as well as with new faucet he had just installed. Bill then went back to the bathroom to replace our bathroom sink and install the brand new faucet. To my dismay, I learned that the prior person who cut the counter to install the old bathroom sink, cut it in such a way that the new sink that should have fit, was slightly too small. Bill felt bad for me and immediately volunteered to go to his warehouse in the middle of town where he had a new Kohler sink that he said he would give to me for free if it fit. Where to you find customer service like that? What plumber volunteers to give the customer a new high quality sink for FREE? I took Bill up on the offer and told him I would return the first sink I bought and see if they had an even bigger one what was not a standard size just in case the sink he had did not fit correctly. Bill jumped in his truck and went back to his warehouse, returning with a high quality sink that he offered to give to me for free, but after placing it in the previous odd shaped hole that was in the counter for the original sink, it didn't quite fit, although it was much better than that first sink that I bought. I then handed Bill the second sink that I bought, but I knew that the second sink was too big for the cut out, and it would require cutting the counter to accept it. Bill went out to this truck to get the tools he needed to cut a bigger whole in my counter top to accept the second sink, and before I knew it, he had mounted the second sink which was a perfect fit, and looked so much nicer than our original sink. Bill then installed the new faucet that I bought and the job came out perfect. The reason why this review is so long is because I was REALLY impressed with Grants Pass Plumbing and Bill Fairhurst, the owner. When all the work was said and done, it was 9 pm on a Friday night, and after all the work Bill had done, the bill came out to only $346.50! I can't say enough positive things about Bill Fairhurst and Grants Pass Plumbing. I would definitely use his company again, and I have absolutely no reservations about recommending him to others. read more

We called GP Plumbing to hook up plumbing to our guest house and to fix and move some exterior faucets on our house. Bill and his son came out, were excellent workers, made suggestions that hid the plumbing work better and did very good work. When the pipe he'd installed to the pressure tank split, Bill went above and beyond. He was in Seattle and, knowing we couldn't use water at all until it was fixed, came directly here after landing in Medford at 10:00 pm and worked until about 1:00 am to fix it in the dark. I would give 5 stars but felt the price was high at $917 for the work. But of course I don't call many plumbers so can't really compare. read more

Bill is the MAN! Shot an email explaining my leaking shower faucet with pictures to make sure they had the right part. Linda contacted me the next day and informed me someone could come to my home later that morning. I asked for late as possible and she made it happen. Bill showed up with part in hand late that afternoon as promised. Could I have done the job myself? sure. But I would have spent oodles of time hunting down the part to a 15 year old faucet. I may not have had all the tools and it would have taken me 4 times as long. Well worth the reasonable cost and I had a blast reminiscing about the good old days with Bill. He even helped me out with some great advice on tankless units and didn't try to pressure me into any purchase. What a cool cat! My wife and I have used this company twice under our home warranty, both for seperate water heaters issues. The first serivce call they replaced an old water heater and the other (today) they needed to replace two old thermostats. I was really impressed with they response time and quality of work done. I requested for service today at 7:30 am from our home warranty company and Grants Pass Plumbing immediatly called around 8:00 am and set up same day service between 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Two employees arrived at 10:15 am, Jamie and Jordan, and got right to work on our water heater that stopped working last night. I am really happy with the work performed and friendly service. If there were zero stars, that would be my rating. This is our second go around with this company. The first experience got a 1 star rating. This time was worse. The guy who came over did not want to wear a mask. Then he did not want to listen to my husband when he tried to tell him of a couple of things (like where the clog was located). My husband is a very intelligent person but has physical limitations or he would have fixed the problem himself. They charged us $195.00 dollars and the issue was still NOT resolved. He wanted to come back and do things that a real Plummer should never do. I don't believe he knew what he was doing. The female (Linda) who answers the company phone is NOT pleasant to deal with. My husband and I felt that they just wanted to come back to make more money. They did not do the job they were hired to do. You would think that they could remove a simple clog. We had a leak in the main water supply to our house. We called Grants Pass Plumbing for the repairs. We were concerned because the new pipe was going to run along the walkway to our front door and we didn't want our front lawn to look like a construction site when they were finished. They carefully dug a deep trench by hand, keeping the dirt off the lawn and placing the sod next to the location where it was removed. They tunneled under two sidewalks and installed the new pipe promptly and professionally. When they were finished all the dirt was gone, and the sod was replaced so carefully it didn't even look like a trench was there! read more

The technician that came out was very friendly. Unfortunately, that is the end of what I can report as positive. We called to report a septic smell coming from our master bathroom bathtub (a tub that is not used very often). We had Googled the symptoms ourselves and narrowed down the problem to be either the P-trap or a dried out seal--a local plumbing company had supported these conclusions as being quite possible. Since our home is still covered under a home warranty, we had to go with the plumbing company of their choice-which was Grants Pass Pluming. The secretary asked if I'd be home between 10 and 2. I said "Yes," but that it would be tough to try and get the smell to be there exactly when the plumber arrived since the time frame was so wide. She stated there was nothing she could do about that, and that if the smell wasn't there when the plumber came, that there would be nothing he could do either. **Worried I'd be wasting money, I called my home owner's insurance co. back, but they encouraged me to give them a try. Long story longer... The plumber turned on all the water in that bathroom, stuck his head down our crawl spaces, left muddy footprints throughout our home, collected my deductible and said he'd be writing up a report. A week later we found out his report stated that there were no plumbing failures, and he felt the smell was a rodent smell coming through our vent system. Bottom line, we paid $60 to a plumber who didn't listen to a word we said and did very little to truly diagnose our problem. Called SOS plumbing yesterday, and they came out and diagnosed the problem completely differently--finding it was a plumbing issue and NOT a rodent smell. I would like to point out the the last time he came out, to access the problem, he checked it out, we talked for about twenty minutes outside about life and living in GP etc. NYEve & Grovers was closed for the replacement pipe, so he had to come back in a few days, which he did and fixed the job in about 30 minutes. He needed to order me a new water heater so he came back the next day with the water heater and installed a new one for me.
