Second, and most importantly, Amy did a phenomenal job on my hair!! I decided to stop coloring, several months ago. I've had the demarcation line with grey/silver 1/3 of the way down my hair and the rest a mix of ashy blonde, yellow, and darker brown. There was a lot going on. I was clear with Amy that I do NOT want to get back into a routine of having to color. As an avid scuba diver and outdoorswoman, I am definitely a wash and wear kind of girl. I am NOT going to take any time, so it's got to be easy for me. She knocked it out of the park. Put in I don't even know how many different toners - actually treated every section of my hair that had something different going on, individually. No more line. No more burnt out yellow - just a beautiful blend of my natural silver/salt & pepper, toned. It will take me a day or two to get used to the change but it's time to embrace the "sexy, older woman" vibe. I tried calling around the Portland area as well, but I also could not reach anyone and none of the websites ever responded to my email inquiries. Finally, I found Cassiels Day Spa, and lo and behold, the receptionist answered the phone on the second ring, and I was able to get an appointment this week (they offer permanent hair removal services on Mondays and Tuesdays). Cassiels is a unique-looking spa that was converted from a typical Maine house. It's beautiful and clean inside with a variety of interesting makeup and skincare products. The electrologist, Ashley, is young but excellent at her job. I received 30 minutes of electrolysis for only $35 (It's $25 for 15 minutes, $35 for 30 minutes, and $45 for 45 minutes). The spa was such an inviting environment that I booked a haircut the same day (for only $18). Great place overall -- I will definitely be a repeat customer!
