Maybe good for the locals, but it lacked any local flavor to my colleagues and me. We all had a special truffle pasta appetizer and cod for the main course. The truffle pasta was very good - subtle flavors and good texture. The cod was average. If not for the pasta this probably would have been three stars. Dining room had a modern feel, similar to the hotel. Service was good, although when clearing some plates before the main course a server took away my bread plate with a full piece of bread on it (so fast I could not stop her). If I return to Gießen I'd like to try somewhere else. Apart from the appetizer just not that memorable. Seems like it should have been better.

There are many Hotels right in the city, but if you prefer a family like environment and great food - this is your place! A tip for families: the Hotel has their own 'pets' just behind of the Hotel. The 'pets' are actually wild boars. They have their own enclosure and come running as soon as somebody walks up to them. Funny!!! But back to the Hotel and Restaurant itself: try it if you are in the area. It's woth it!
