The menu had English along with the Czech, but the staff didn't speak any English. Most entrees can be made with your choice of protein, and they have tofu, so it's very vegetarian-friendly. I had kung pao tofu and a jasmine milk tea, and I tried a bit of my friend's pad Thai. The food and bubble tea were both basic but tasty. Huge portions, very good value for your money. There are many more interesting restaurants in Tábor, but this is good if you just want something familiar and good value.

This place has the full package of really good breakfast, lunch, dessert, and drinks. They seem to change the menu frequently, and all of the dishes I tried were creative and delicious. They also have some interesting drinks, both house-made and bottled. The place is a little small and it was often busy, but I always managed to find a table. They had English menus available, but the Czech menu listed some drinks not on the English menu, so while the English was very helpful for food, you might still want to consult the Czech menu for drinks.

The waiters were very welcoming and explained each course as it was brought out. This was as good as any fine dining I've experienced, and for fine dining, the price is really accessible. It's a good choice for vegetarians - besides the tasting menu, there are a few vegetarian entrees and appetizers that can be ordered a la carte.

The freshly baked, golden, and incredibly fluffy mazanec reminded me of home and the salted tvaroh and butter were a delicious addition. I had the chicken and although it was a little on the heavier side, it was cooked perfectly. The croquette was perfectly crunchy on the outside with a warm and soft center, practically melting in your mouth. Sadly, I didn't make it to dessert because there was no more room but I can only imagine how good they are.

I had an open sandwich with a sweet potato spread, arugula, olives, blue cheese, and walnuts, and a poppy seed cake. Quiet and not busy around 12 pm on a weekday when we went for lunch.

Maybe we were just there at an inopportune time since it looked like there was a big group that had gotten there just before us, but the restaurant wasn't otherwise busy. Cool place, but would only recommend if you're okay with a very leisurely pace.

I had palačinky (crepes) with strawberry jam and an iced cappuccino for breakfast. The crepes were nicely plated but the taste was pretty basic; it tasted like they just used a store-bought jam. I honestly kind of felt like I ordered the wrong thing since everything else looks so good. The cappuccino was very good though! It was so hot out, so I really appreciated that they could do an iced cappuccino when a lot of places can't/won't make it iced.

I was so happy about the large number of olives in this quiche - it was definitely among the top quiches I have had. I had their homemade chokeberry (aronie) tea to drink. It had a pleasant floral flavour and was served in a nice tea set with sugar, honey, and lemon on the side. I didn't need the sugar, but I had a cup with and without lemon. The lemon actually enhanced the flavour. It was about 240 Kč for all of this. Nice environment. The cafe was comfortable and well-decorated, and the staff were polite.

Finally a vegetarian burger in Tábor that isn't fried cheese. I was in Tábor for a few weeks and…read morehad been eating so much cheese since that's all a lot of restaurants had for a vegetarian option, so I was relieved to have a "meaty", non-cheese based veggie burger here. I really liked their veggie burger; the patty tasted homemade, not like a commercial meat substitute. I loved the ajvar on it. The coleslaw was a little plain but good, and I really enjoyed the sea buckthorn lemonade with fruit pieces in it. The pistachio finger for dessert was tasty but a little challenging to neatly eat because my fork did not want to slice through the chocolate around the edges. Everything seemed like it was made with fresh, quality ingredients. This was one of the most expensive meals I had in Tábor. Although it was certainly high quality, it felt like city prices. The burger alone cost as much as an entree plus drink at other restaurants, and no side is included, so you'll have to pay extra for fries/onion rings (89 Kč) or coleslaw (79 Kč), and then another 35-39 Kč if you want sauce for fries. The price is the only reason for the star off. Good service. Our waitress was friendly and the food was fast. I didn't get a good look at the inside of the restaurant because we sat outside, but the atmosphere of the patio area in the square was nice. It was busy but we got in for dinner with no reservation and no wait.
