I should have checked before entering. We went because it was sun nice area when walking BUT food was rewarmed & NOT Fresh. It was served warm not Hot. Men Staff were Very Mediocre and Less than Average compared to the week of dining in this area of 15 other restaurants. Would Not Recommend Dining. I only ate 1/4 of my plate and stopped. Caveatting this by stating I am from the UK where we have excellent Indian and Pakistani food so I may be biased/have high expectations. I had been working a long day and just wanted something quick and tasty and not Mexican food. I came here spur of the moment and definitely wish I had read the reviews beforehand. The man who greeted me at the door (the owner?) wasn't friendly and was annoyed when I asked for the wifi to take a look at the menu so I could make sure there are things I can eat - I am vegetarian and allergic to nuts, and was looking for a paneer tikka masala or a paneer makhani, something creamy and along those lines. They only had two paneer tomato based curries that I had never heard of (note I ate Indian/Pakistani food every week back home and most of my friends are Indian). The restaurant is nice enough with lots of pictures and ornaments and the servers were very nice. I had vegetable pakora and Shahi Paneer with a parantha. The food was not good - the salsas/chutneys were very watered down and tasteless, and the food was packed full of pepper/spice but no flavour. The paneer had a weird texture and the curry flavour (Shahi Paneer) was horrible. I know I am used to very good curry but this was particularly bad. The wifi was also bad and I had trouble accessing the menu which is only available via QR code as well as issues paying by card. Pleasantly surprised to have good Indian food. I ordered the Murgh Chole and it had a great flavor, the naan was really good as well. For those who are used to getting rice with your dish, you will need to order it separately as it doesn't come with the dish. We also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, and I though it was too sweet and needed more a bit more spice. My husband liked the dish, and thought it was good as he doesn't like it spicy at all. So I'm generally very excited to eat Indian food, whenever and wherever. In fact, my Indian food fanaticism might be considered a bit problematic, if you ask the husband. You can probably imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this place (which has been around since 1986 per the awning) with a couple of my friends while exploring Mexico City. Despite the rather lukewarm Yelp reviews, we decided to order takeout from this place one evening after an especially long and tiresome day. I settled upon the Aalu Palak (potatoes with spinach in curry sauce) - it was one of two vegan options, and my friend ordered the Tandoori Chicken. Only the rice was vegan, so I opted for that while my friend asked for some naan to accompany her dish. So our food took a good long while to be prepared, despite the place being completely empty. That's fine, we ordered ourselves a couple of beverages. My friend's husband opted for a mango lassi, which he declared was "strange, not what I was expecting" - it was a really really pale white color, not sure how much mango was actually in that lassi. Tandoor happens to be a Pokemon Gym Stop so my friends' kiddo happily amused herself while we waited on our food (super important info, I know - but perchance you have busybody kids!). Well the disappointment soon smacked me right in the palate once I dug into my Aalu Palak. Holy bland Indian food Batman! By "curry sauce," do they mean water? Because it sure as heck tasted like it! I had to liberally pour salt onto my dinner, and generously glopped on the chili paste they had packed along with our order - to make the Aalu Palak remotely edible. My whole love affair with Indian food stems from its intense flavorful-ness so to say this was a letdown is a understatement. My friend reported her Tandoori Chicken was fine and consumed it without much commentary, so I assume Tandoor did a decent job with that. But for me, what a waste of Indian food! So much potential . . . unfulfilled. Two stars instead of one because at least our server was polite and the chicken was allegedly good. read more

This is an option for those with halal or Zabihah restrictions. I would call the restaurant in advance and ask the owner which items are halal. He said there isn't a big demand for halal items here so there isn't even a local supplier. He slaughters himself and has limited items on the menu that are halal. Out of about 30-40 menu items, 5-7 were halal when I went. The owner was very nice and has been in Mexico City for 34 years. He now has 3 total locations. The service was very quick and the servers were really nice. I'm really picky about my desi food and prefer Punjabi cooking. This didn't taste exactly like what I'm accustomed to having, but it's the only Pakistani option in Mexico City. I ordered the Karahi Chicken, Keema, Chicken Tikka Masala, Beef Biryani with Cheese Naan, Regular Naan; and Paratha. The must have out of these options was probably the Chicken Tikka Masala. I wouldn't recommend the Cheese Naan as you can't tell there's cheese in it. Overall, was great to see a Pakistani restaurant in Mexico City and is a great option if you're craving desi, but this isn't close enough to what I'm used to having so I give this a 3/5. read more

I found this place to be surprisingly delicious. After a week of Mexican food I wanted some good ole biryani and I found this spot on yelp. I got the keema samosas, chicken biryani and naan. Everything was delicious and flavorful and fresh. They gave a dipping sauce with the samosa and traits with the biryani. They have indoor seating as well but I sat outside and people watched while eating my yummy food. Will def be back when I'm in Mexico City again. read more

Tandoor is a fine dining establishment in the heart of CDMX. It is a busy place, with lot of options to choose from. For halal dietary constraints they have some limited options to chose from based on availability. We tried both veggie and meats. Biryani was definitely a winner. Lamb biryani is something which rarely is found to be food and devoid of the peculiar lamb aroma, and this was it. Really good flavors, tender meat with great flavors. Palak paneer was average and the Naan good. Definitely a place to go if you are looking for India/Pakistani food in the Mexico City. read more

First of all i was happy to find a Indian restaurant in Mexico city. Ambience is good. Service was great as well. I am vegetarian .We ordered mango lassi, it was ok in my opinion. Too sweet. Naan was ok. Dal makhani and sahi panner both needs improvement. It was below average . But i did still finish everything as i had indian food after many days . Ordered from this restaurant via Rappi App, we wanted to have lunch. WE ordered combo platters which were on special, I had a Chicken Masala and Dhal plus Naan. All in all we spent $590 MX which is not a low amount just for a lunch for 3. When the food arrived we were shocked, first for the miniscule servings and then for the terrible taste of the food! Everthing was watery and one-note, vegetables were super over cooked, lentils were completely destroyed, sauces had water and received 3 teaspoons of chicken, not even a whole leg, a thigh or even a breast, 3 spoonfulls! We are chefs and know world food and THIS WAS NOT IT! Do not spend your money at this place, we will be speakin to Rappi too, just horrible! Terrible restaurant que no vale la pena! The food is good, but portions are too small, specially for the price it costs. We ordered 3 dishes for 3 people and had to add 6 pieces of nan plus one portion of rice so we could be slightly satisfied. We paid 800 pesos and left the restaurant feeling hungry. read more

It's not the most flavorful Indian food in the world - and a shame at that considering it's in Mexico and can really be bold with its flavors! But when you're craving Desi food it's not a bad option. Their house daal was the best of the three dishes we ordered. Chole needed more spice and salt... shaahi paneer was okay. Decor is decent and it's in a great neighborhood. read more
