OK I should have noticed it said 'Trend' not 'Trendy' Barber on the shop sign…read more OK I shouldn't have taken the presence of a barber's pole outside the shop as membership of a professional barbers' union. OK I shouldn't have been lazy and gone to my usual place in Central London instead of plumping for this local place. OK I shouldn't have assumed that a machine cut can't possibly go wrong. OK I admit that without my glasses during the haircut, I can't see well enough to notice if something is going wrong. OK I should have realised that machine cuts shouldn't take so long and that the barber was taking a very long time adjusting the cut with his scissors. Despite all the OKs, only 2 stars for making my number 6 look more like I've been scalped by Red indians!

It isn't my nearest barber and yet it's still the one I travel that little bit further to visit…read more Not sure what they're like if you require something other than the usual trim/strategic shave that I require these days, as the hair on my head increasingly gives up the ghost, but for my needs they are spot on. No fuss, no coffee, no tea (I'm simply not in there that long) but you do get a lively line in friendly banter for the first and last few minutes, with the desired focus on your follicles in between. Also I find the opening hours really help when you work 45 minutes away and have a busy lifestyle/Saturday lie-in.

The shop's smart and well maintained, with a friendly, cheerful atmosphere and digital radio on in the background. My thinning hair was cut quickly and expertly by Richard Froud (grandson of the original founder) who only charged £10.50. Other customers will hate me for saying this, but they really ought to put their prices up it's outstanding value for money. I'd unreservedly recommend Frouds and will definitely use them again myself. Photo link: http://froudandco.co.uk/sites/default/files/banner.png

There was an extra barber chair when I walked in and they immediately sat me down with no wait time. I was surprised to feel so welcomed by them and no awkward feeling despite being a stranger. Even after giving only a vague idea of what I wanted, the barber immediately went to work. I can't remember his name because it wasn't one I had heard before but he ended up eventually settling in London after a long journey via the Netherlands as a war refugee from Iraq in the 90's. The haircut was quick and efficient, and they waxed my ears which was a strange experience, but overall I felt like I came to the right place. If I lived in the area I would definitely come again.

Don't be fooled by the nice looking shop…read more I came in earlier this week and had a REALLY poor quality haircut. I've rarely had a barber put so little effort into a cut. I've been given a lopsided skinfade and when cutting the top it was a hash job, just cutting anything in any direction without thought. I would have been better doing it myself. As I noticed from the customers before me, this places puts pressure on people to give five star reviews which for a first haircut, is extremely desperate. The barber also made the price of the haircut up for the customer before me and for myself, charging us a different number to what's on the price list. Sneaky all round. If you're going to push new customers to give a five star review then put five star effort in or you'll get more reviews like this.
