Top male barbers/hairdressing shop…read more Andy the owner and his crew make this a great place to have your hair cut in. Their friendly and welcoming attitude make this a very popular place. I have been coming here for a long time. Its a small place with 3 barbers working most days. The environment is smart, professional and contemporary. There is a clean and well maintained toilet for customers.(you don't see that, very often!) The clientèle runs from young kids out with their dads, for their monthly chop. Older locals, to young fashionable teens and smart & trendy professional types. Everyone is well catered for, I have never seen or heard of anyone coming out of there with a cut they didn't feel happy with. One of the barbers Greg, regularly does hair for London fashion week, ITV and other popularly known TV progs. There are no appointments, you go in, take a seat and wait your turn, there is a lot of banter and chat, the daily papers to peruse, free hot and cold drinks to help yourself to. There is also a wall mounted, wide screen TV, they like their sports at Directors Cut. They are really great with youngsters, I have sat and watched them give many 1st cuts, working through the tears and restlessness and then rewarding them with a lolly pop, when they've finished. They have been here a while and so many of the kids having their 1st cuts here, now visit as young teenagers. Dry Cuts from £10 and the prices progress up to £16, which inc wet, blow dry, restyle, trimming of beards/moustaches. Every year there is a street party on Pitshanger Lane, the shop donates to this in a big way, paying for fancy street lighting and decorations, BBQ/food stalls and there is always much beer and wine for cutomers who stop by. Directors Cut is local in the traditional sense of the word

To be clear, this is for the location in Pimlico, but I didn't see it listed. Had an amazing first…read moretime experience where the woman fixed a terrible haircut I got before in another place. Wanted to make sure I went back before I left London. This time my haircut is much shorter than I expected, and the shape not so great. Too short on the sides too long on the top, probably would be my last haircut there. Very disappointing when the first cut was so good.

Upon entrance the Mrs and I were accosted by a very rude woman who simply said 'no' before we had a chance to speak. Now, despite this place being a barbers the Mrs has been here several times before and never had a problem. She's never asked for a Brazilian blow dry and all she needs is a bit of a trim on her short hair. After this abrupt introduction I was ready to walk out after the millionth time she jibed ' we don't cut women's hair' thinking fair enough. However there was one gent (who needs a raise) who had no problem and went to it straight away. This is clearly a place for unskilled hairdressers masquerading as a barber's. If what you want can't be measured in numbers and produced in 5 mins by clippers don't come. If you literally want a quick hack then this is your place. For a quirky barbers, full of interesting tack and sarcastic signs on the wall it seems to be devoid of all character. The female staff were just plain Rude. The man however was happy to give the Mrs a trim realising that any custom on a Saturday afternoon, male or female would be better than none. So the Mrs got her cut, and the guy who did it was a delight, but at £15 for a six min trim, there are cheaper and more plesant places to go.
