So I had my husband dial the number for me to call their office. The lady "Lauren" or "Laurie" refused to schedule an appt for me and saying "They would not schedule an appt for me unless I fill out some forms online." I explained to her that I could not do it online and if I could schedule it over the phone and fill out the rest of the forms when I come earlier for the appt. She was very cold and had no compassion and kept repeating "They would not schedule any appts over the phone or in person". Awful customer service! What if you are blind, old, disabled or just not good with technology. Making online forms "mandatory" for everyone and refusing service to patients just because they can't fill out online forms is just not acceptable.

At my first in person appointment Jen explained how the body all works together and who would have known that scar tissue in my décolleté would hinder my breathing and reflect in my pelvic floor! When she told me my belly was very firm I was feeling kind of righteous about my abs until she said I'm not using the right muscles for the right movements resulting in a very inflexible "canister" - and taught me how to massage my belly to create more movement and flexibility. They…read moreschedule too many patients back to back & you're kept on hold for long periods to make an appointment - the other day I was on hold for over 10 mins and finally had to hang up - you also wait for a long time in the waiting room to get adjusted because they schedule patients on top of one another - what's worse is there's only one exam room that's a community room so when you get adjusted and want to talk about private topics, it's in front of everybody in the office. Zero privacy! I wanted to have a private talk with the owner & she brushed me off in a very arrogant manner & she said she was too busy to talk. They are all about volume and not personalized service - I got home and within 30 mins I made an appt with another firm - there are many other chiropractors in town who run a professional & efficient office. Elk's lack of professional is beyond the pale. They need bigger office space to accommodate all who they schedule, and patients should have private rooms - I've been going to chiropractors for over 30 yrs and I've never not had a private room where a patient can have a private convo with the doctor.

My experience in the past (in other states) has taught me that I do best with a "hands on" approach rather than being one of several patients whose exercises are monitored by a single PT for 45 minutes each week. Jamie is exactly what I was looking for... He spends 70 minutes at my home and uses a variety of techniques to treat muscle and misalignment issues. He also prescribes exercises to improve strength and increase mobility and range of motion. Having him come to my home has been a huge blessing, not only in terms of convenience but also in that he is able to evaluate how things like my sleeping position could be impacting my chronic pain issues. Jamie has a geniune interest in seeing his patients improve and is not opposed to suggesting other forms of therapy if he feels they are indicated. We all know that physical therapy can be painful at times. Jamie's compassion and professionalism go a long way toward making the experience as "tolerable" as possible.

On his first visit, he determined that my pelvis was misaligned which caused my SI joint to slip, which caused my right leg to be shorter than the left, which caused misalignment of my right knee, which had resulted in torn meniscus in my right knee and a meniscus surgery a year prior. He gave me exercises to perform at home between visits, made suggestions on proper hiking techniques to prevent the SI joint from slipping; and if it did slip, how to place it back into place on my own. And the best part...he comes to your home for therapy sessions. Now how convenient is that?!
