I love colorful, uniquely New Orleans art and Tami Curtis fits the bill. I just happened to find her gallery in the back of another store I was visiting and I loved all of her bright, beautiful work. Tami herself is friendly and is happy to tell you about her pieces. She sells originals and prints of her work including such subjects as Louis Armstrong, Pete Fountain, BB King, St. Louis Cathedral and much more. I don't know if I'll ever have enough money to own a Tami Curtis original, but I would love to add one of her gorgeous prints to my collection someday. read more

A friend saw her art at a local event and purchased a Mr. Bingle piece for me so I ahd to find her studio and see more...turns out she's in the pop up space behind Miss Smartypants. Easy-peasy. I stopped in to peruse her wares and was super excited by the old theater seats completely painted with images of Louis Armstrong along with song lyrics. STUNNING! If only I had room and $$ for such a purchase. She sells originals and prints with lots of NOLA local flavor. Definitely a great spot to peruse for something new for your house or a gift. And I love my Mr. Bingle read more

Tami is a fantastic artist and my wife and I own a couple of pieces of her artwork. So I decided to purchase a gift of 4 art lessons for my wife for Christmas. My wife was thrilled and very excited to begin her lessons quickly. While Tami is a great artist and maybe teacher, she is very unorganized and flaky. She blew my wife off for two months on why she couldn't start her art lessons. Then when she finally arranged to start the lessons, she forgot about the first lesson, cancelled two others with short notice and then stood her up for another lesson. My wife finally has to cancelled her art lessons with Tami because she was so frustrated and disappointed. We did get a quick refund for half of the lessons at least. Tami's art is great and she is a very sweet person, but beware if you want to purchase lessons. read more

Lovely gallery of the even more lovely Tami Curtis' works. If you're looking for AUTHENTIC New Orleans art by a real live Louisianan, this is it! She's got a great sort of pop art meets impressionist style. Her water meter cover imprints make a great souvenir or gift for someone that holds New Orleans near and dear like I do. She also has an amazing musicians series that any jazz or blues lover would enjoy. I pick one up every time I visit Nola. Her prices run a full range so you can pick up a little post card or print very inexpensively or you can invest in one of her beautiful originals that I'm sure you will enjoy for years to come! read more

Tami Curtis - Some of Tami's work from when I met her on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. - Art Galleries Near Me - Bay St Louis, Mississippi

We've been to New Orleans dozens of times and find we're better informed than many of the natives. We even dined at 2040 St. Charles on our honeymoon and know why there's a tribute restaurant to Olde N'awlins Cookery in the Quarter. I purchased a special item last January and recently asked to Tami do a very special personalized item for our anniversary. I trust her to capture the spirit of what I want. Very reasonable terms and can't wait to see the finished piece, she described it back to me just as I envisioned it. You'll want one too. Got my project as promised. Thanks to Tami for helping to surprise my wife with the best gift ever. Will visit often as trips allow. Wonderful and affordable. read more

I first met Tami when I randomly walked into her studio while exploring Magazine St. Her work immediately conveys in vibrant color all the beauty, charm and character that makes New Orleans the magical place it is. My girlfriend and I spent several hours speaking with and getting to know her, and we've been friends ever since. Five pieces of her work now hang in my home, and many more will in the future! There aren't many more genuine or talented people in the world, and no trip to New Orleans is complete unless some her of work returns home with you. Do yourself a favor and check her out! read more

Tami has been instrumental in my daughter's development as an artist. My 9 year old daughter has been obsessed with art since she was about 3. Very talented, she wanted to learn and grow by studying with a working artist. Tami Curtis has been the perfect fit as she's an active artist with her own gallery (where the classes are held) and also a patient and gifted teacher. Zora has been studying with Tami once a week for the last year. Tami includes fundamentals of art, art history, field trips to museums and lots of studio work. All of our family is amazed when they see the work that Zora does in Tami's studio. I would highly recommend her for art lessons - or to just buy some of her work. read more

Tami Curtis is an amazingly talented artist with a love for color, and a love for the rich New Orleans heritage that surrounds her. I was able to attend her introduction of the "Flying Horses" at the New Orleans City Park Carousel, and was totally amazed and in awe of her work. What a wonderful person to work with in any way. She has a love for family, friends, her home city of New Orleans, and the creativity that is such a huge part of her life. She lives life to the fullest, and maintains a positive attitude. If you need an artist, definitely give her a call! read more

No one paints local musicians and natives like Tami Curtis! I have in my dining room a large original of restaurant employees taking a smoke break. The colors are vibrant and she captures so well the personalities of the workers. I also own a multi-media of Louis Armstrong which is amazing and a scripture board with my favorite verse on it. I treasure her work! Tami is also very personable, so stop by her gallery on Magazine Street which has many affordable items and NOLA souvenirs. read more

Tami is a wonderful local artist with such a love of the city and for people. The gallery is so warm and inviting and we could spend hours looking over the art work. While we were there, she was so sweet and showed us so many pieces as well as some that she was currently working on. It was nice to be able to speak to the artist and take home a few signed pieces. We will definitely be continued customers and hopefully one day will own an original! read more

I met Tami through Facebook. That's when my love affair with her work began haha! I have multiple prints by her, and one actual canvas painting. Tami took a childhood memory and a photo of mine and turned it into a work of art. She did everything I asked, and even added a little lagniappe on things I wanted but couldn't articulate. She is amazingly responsive to emails and messages, as well as phone calls. I've recommended her to quite a few of my friends, and I've warned her that I will buy out her store if I'm ever in NoLa again! Seriously, if you want unique art, this is the place to find it. She won't let you down :-) read more
