I wish I could give Tami 10 stars! Where do I even begin...my childhood friend who lives in Olympia recommended her. I live in California but she said Tami was totally worth visiting for, so I planned an entire family trip around this photo shoot. I had low expectations because the other photographers I've used for engagement, wedding, and other family photos were either not professional, not on time, or didn't have great photos. Tami was AMAZING from the get go. I reached out to her via email and she responded promptly and with lots of info and examples. Fast forward to our trip, on my way out to her studio my 20 month old had an insane allergic reaction to a snack I gave him and he was covered in hives and difficulty breathing. I was 2 mins away from Tami's studio, and was alone at the time with no cell service, so I rushed to her house and she totally calmed me down as I was freaking out because I was so worried about my toddler. She was so kind, patient, and caring. She didn't rush us or anything. My toddler ended up being fine, and she got him to go from crying and breaking down to calm and playful. He's also insanely shy and she actually got him out of his shell. Her photos are sooo wonderful and they were above and beyond anything I ever expected. #THANKYOUTHURSDAY I can not say enough kind things about Tami/Butterfly Kiss Photography. Long story short, an absolutely amazing newborn photographer who totally captured my daughter's newborn phase with images I'll cherish FOREVER. Tami's studio is in downtown Sumner and is super cute! It's near a bunch of other downtown local shops, so we had the opportunity to check those out after our photo session. It looks small on the outside, but inside it's pretty spacious and cozy. Prior to our shoot, Tami had me fill out a questionnaire so that she would have different props and accessories ready for the shoot. I was SO happy with everything she chose, from the styles to the colors. It was all perfect. Our session ran a little over time because my daughter kept having moments of fussiness and wanting her binkie, but Tami was totally accommodating and worked with my daughter's needs. On top of being an amazing photographer and really great with newborns, Tami is really easy to get along with and chat with, which is essential during photoshoots if you ask me! We did not know what to expect when it came to newborn photos- we are first time parents with a long waited for baby girl and knew we wanted professional photos to capture our little one. Tami was excellent with communication about the photo shoot, what to expect, and asked for input about color/style/theme so the photos would complement our style/home. She was prompt with reply's and great with directions on how to prepare the day of the photos. We knew we picked the right photographer when we were just a ball of goo AT her studio watching the set ups she had with our baby. She was so gentle and cautious with moving her around that our baby slept the entire time! The photos themselves are beyond amazing- I get excited to just show everyone because they are SO adorable, the style, the set up, the fabrics, the little bows, head wraps, hats she chose, the blankets she wrapped her in. I'd initially begun searching the Internet for a newborn photographer a few days after the birth of our daughter. I'd reached out to someone I knew who did toddler photos in Gig Harbor and they recommended Tami at Butterfly Kiss Photography. I looked her website up and immediately fell in love with her photos. It was a total bonus to find out she was in Sumner which was really close to us in Bonney Lake. I contacted her to see if she had any availability and initially she was booked but after a few quickly responded to emails, she was able to squeeze us into her studio schedule. Tami is really responsive to emails and asked several questions in an attempt to customize our photoshoot and ensure we got the most out of our session. Initially, the photo session was just for our newborn photos but she worked with us to customize our session and add a short family session for an additional fee which was exactly what we were hoping for. Her natural light studio is very comfortable and includes another separate sitting area. Tami really works hard to make sure you're comfortable and relaxed during the session. She and her assistant were ready before we arrived and helped us get ready for the shoot as soon as we got there. She gives great direction and works very quickly to capture all of her amazing photos. She and her assistant are very professional, extremely friendly and personable, and give great direction throughout the whole session. They really know what they're doing and work hard to make sure you and your baby are relaxed and comfortable. At the end of the session, Tami gave us a small gift bag with homemade jam and a few other fun things - great touch! She's very communicative throughout the following week to let you know the progress of the photo editing process and delivered the soft proof gallery quickly as well as the final edits. Our session also included personalized custom announcements - Tami provided an electronic proof copy to us quickly as well. All in all, I would highly recommend Tami for all of your newborn photos! Tami has amazing talent for capturing amazing photos and is quick and super easy to work with. We really enjoyed our session with her and have already booked our follow up "Watch Me Grow" photo session to continue capturing our daughter's growth milestones over the next year. We have used Butterfly Kiss Photography for the last four years. We traditionally take pictures each fall for Christmas cards and family portraits. Every time we have the best photos! She is so good and gentle with babies and the older kids; I always felt comfortable having her handle my brand new baby. I was apprehensive that our toddler wouldn't cooperate for the photos, but Tami is a rockstar and got some beautiful pictures of both of my children together.
