I know, I know...before you come at me with pitchforks for giving Tambu Lounge 3 stars, hear me out. Don't get me wrong. All the cast members & bartenders were genuinely friendly. Food & drinks were delivered in a timely manner despite how busy it was. Food was fresh and came out pippin hot. My gripe is how long the standby line is. The lounge area is small. We tried twice to come eat here for dinner time and both times the line was NOT moving. I peeked in the lounge and saw several tables just sitting there and chatting. No active food or drinks...you can tell they were done eating & drinking. Come on man. Please be considerate and get out so the next party can be seated. I feel like they should put a time limit here. Thank goodness I just so happen to see two empty chairs at the bar and the patrons sitting close by were kind enough to tell me these seats are first come, first serve. Jackpot! So we ordered the following: -Yuengling beer -coconut mojito mocktail -potstickers -two orders of their famous Ohana noodles All this hype from social media about these dang noodles. Personally, my husband and I both thought there was a bit too much sodium with their teriyaki(?) sauce. And to be honest, we've had better noodles. It tasted like something you can get at Panda Express. Oh well...ya'll enjoy these. So minus one star for the line not moving due to people just sitting around hogging up tables and minus one star for the overhyped salty noodles.

I ordered a take away gin and tonic. The bar server Christine got me in and out! I sat outside of the lounge and enjoyed my predinner drink! I recommend!

I love the Tambu Lounge!! The bar tenders and wait staff are always so friendly and attentive!! They serve food starting at 4p which is such a treat because it's similar to the food at Ohana! I love getting the noodles!! As the Bar/Lounge is out in the open it can get loud in the area but it's still a very relaxing spot to take a break, especially on a hot day!

Loved the in non alcoholic Lychee Ginger Lemonade. The service is prompt and very pleasant. They serve small food items like Hawaiian potstickers. Their ambiance is cozy with a touch of island life; the Seven Seas Lagoon in the background and swaying trees calling your name. This lounge is located on the second floor of The Polynesian Resort, right next to Ohana's restaurant.

Waited about 20min to sit, but worth it. Less money than a full sit down of O'hana. One woman working the whole area. Impressive.

Stopped in at the bar for a quick drink. The hibiscus margarita was so refreshing and delicious. We also tried the espresso martinis on the menu. Unfortunately, this drink didn't hit the mark. It tasted tangy which threw me off. The bartender was so nice and managed to get our order without too long of a wait even though they were busy. I would probably try a different cocktail next time but the lounge menu was intriguing so I'd like to return.

I loved the whole environment and drinks and food. The service was great as all Disney properties do. We were trying to get in downstairs but the wait was too long. After we had some drinks and food we headed to shop areas and on to our next adventure. I'm definitely coming back for another drink and more wings!

Great spot for a drink or a quick bite! Bartenders were friendly and fast, and vibe of the bar is great. Plenty of seating around the bar and at the lunge area. Small menu for bar bites between 4-10pm, but i would recommend the pot stickers!

Could never go wrong with anything at the Polynesian! It's hands down the best property on Disney and with the best drinks and service! We had a drink while waiting for our restaurant reservation and we had a blast. They get creative with the drinks and the bartenders were funny and hospitable. Love this spot!

Corner bar with some seating upstairs in the Polynesian Resort. Every time I am here it is crowded and noisy, and ppl creeping the seating area just crashed and tired instead of letting patrons use seating. But at least I can grab a beer here when you can't hardly get one in Magic Kingdom. Limited beer selection, and cocktails. Stand in q to order and pay.

We always go to the Tambu lounge for drinks & apps, the Ohana restaurant is next to it & they have a prix fixe menu there & it's a ton of food, you can get the Ohanas famous noodles, ribs, shrimp & dumplings at the lounge & the drinks are great.

Tamara and John are the absolute best- A+ services whether dining at the bar, seating area, or to-go. You can order many things a la carte that you would get from Ohana, but the potstickers are my go-to. Grab a backscratcher or a Lapu Lapu and enjoy your evening.

Love stopping here for a drink. The bartenders always make a quality cocktails and there's an easy place to grab a to go drinks. We ordered a Mule, gin and tonic and we had to try the lapu lapu. All were well made and exactly what we were looking for

View from my perch, around 1pm, on the first Friday of 2024. Just look at that Polynesian Mai Tai!

If you are not wanting to dine at the resort, you can take a bus or monorail from Magic Kingdom. It has been a while since I did a review and we have been here quite a few times over the last year. I felt it was time to update. I have a love hate with this place, I used to love it, then we had some negative experiences however, the last few visits have been great. They now open early at 11am which is really great as it gets so busy! We love to stop here when doing a monorail crawl but also recently took my mom and dad here. You need to add your name to the list and your wait can be different all the time. It really depends on how many names are on the list. I will say that larger groups tend to wait much longer. If you are a smaller group such as 2, and are seated at a table for 4, just know that they will seat you with others. MY biggest issue with this place is I believe it should have a time limit. It is incredibly small inside and we have waited over 3 hours to go in. I just feel if Beak and Barrell at Magic and Oga's at Studios has a time limit, they need one here. Maybe bump it to 60 minutes. The problem comes with that there is so much to see and interactions happening with drinks being ordered that you could literally sit in there for hours and order 1 drink. We have had many drinks on the menu including wine and beer. I am not in love with all their drinks, they are very rum heavy and can be very sweet and full of juice, however there are some good ones. I have also tried just wine which is also fine. My husband frequently orders the beer flight which includes 3 different types of Kona beer. Some of my favorite cocktails are the Rosita's Margarita, which is Casamigos reposado tequila, bols orange curacao liqueur, fresh lime juice, falernum and organic agave nectar. It is really good but can be sour if not made correct. Don't be afraid if that happens to ask them to add a little extra sweetener. I also enjoy the Mosquito Mojito which has Bacardi Dragonberry Rum, Organic Agave Nectar, Falernum, Mint, and Fresh Lime Juice topped with Soda Water. It is a classic mojito but can also end up being sour. I usually ask for a little extra nectar. They also serve food. We love the food here and they have actually updated their menu recently. Our favorite item is the Thai Chicken Flatbread with bacon and peanut sauce which is delicious and the Pan-Fried Dumplings. They have a new Shrimp and Plantain Roll which looks great and we will be trying it next time. Some of their drinks come with an interactive experience including the Uh-Oa, the Nautilus, the Hippopoto Mai-Tai and the Krakatoa Punch. And anyone who orders it, gets to sort of take part in the interactive experience. The whole lounge has effects. Would I recommend this yes. I am torn if this is a 4 or a 3. The wait is ridiculous at times, but it is really fun. I prefer the table seats as opposed to the bar or high tops personally and you cannot really ask to sit somewhere. I do think this needs to be expanded. Outside they have a different version or Trader Sam's, same menu no interactivities. They need to take that over and make this lounge much much larger. I would say check it out if you can get it or dont mind waiting. Put your name on the list and go to a different bar and wait!

It reminds me of a sports bar, they do have 1 TV so not crazy. I also usually see adults, particularly men, coming here to grab a drink to go. This spot is directly next to Chef Mickey's, which mean it can get loud and it can be really hard to grab a seat. My biggest issue with this spot is the people who have zero intention of buying a drink, sit at the tables or the lounge chairs and wait for their table at Chef Mickey. There is a really great view of Bay Lake but it can be so hard to sit here and enjoy a drink and the views. I do wish the cast members did a better job at Outer Rim and Chef Mickey telling people it is a not a waiting area. I also do not understand why Chef Mickey's does not have better waiting benches or seats. I do feel for the servers because the guests are taking up seats from those that would actually spend money and grab a drink. My wife and I have had to leave because there were no seats. The menu is simple, just drinks, no food. There is a pretty well stocked bar along with a few of their "specialty" drinks. They are nothing super fancy and I do think if they had some themed drinks to their name, outer rim, they would be more popular. I also used to love ordering their bourbon flight which they have recently removed. It was one of the best deals and I'm sure Disney realized they were offering this at a steal! I would say the best part of this lounge is the views of Bay Lake and getting to watch the monorail going through the hotel. It can be relaxing in the middle of the day when Chef Mickey's is closed and it is quiet in the hotel. As I said, I think this is more of a stop for people to run in and grab a quick drink to go. Overall this spot is fine. We do not run here all the time, esepcially when our favorite lounge is on the first floor, but we will swing by from time to time. It is a great stop if you are partaking in the Monorail Crawl. If you want food or a snack, the quick service location is directly across from here as well. You are able to grab food and bring it into the lounge. I would say it is worth looking at, it could use some updating, maybe walling off the side of Chef Mickey's and making it more enclosed, refreshing the carpet but the drinks are solid. But please if you are just waiting for your table at chef mickey's, remember that outer rim is a bar/ lounge. Do not sit here to wait for your table, you are taking away tips from the server.

The disappointment and aggravation didn't stop there. Once seated at our table, the service was slower than slow and never improved during our meal, despite the server's attempt to be jovial as well as apologetic while blaming the other staff members for the issues.
