The security guards were very friendly and showed me where to park. There is a buzzer to get you in the building, but once you are in, there is no way out until the school is out bell rings. It's a performing arts school and you can tell this by the kids. If I could go back in time, I'd love going to this school.

Students are selected to major in one core art area: Communication Arts, Dance, Digital Media, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Music is sub-divided into programs in Concert Band/Jazz, Orchestra, Vocal & Piano. Burt Reynolds was a graduate and the pick-up/drop-off area of the school as "Burt Reynolds Drive." This is the oldest high school in Palm Beach County. It was originally for white students but integrated merging in the 1970-1971 school year with the black Roosevelt High School following integration, forming Twin Lakes High School. In the 1980's this became a magnet school where students needed to perform for admission. Alexander W. Dreyfoos donated funding for the transformation of the campus, making the largest private contribution ever made to a public school in Florida, pledging $1,000,000 to support the Palm Beach County School of the Arts. A total enrollment of almost 1,300 students, with 41% minority enrollment and 16% economically disadvantaged. They are selected from across Palm Beach County through a process of competitive auditions in one of the six art areas. Most students commute to the school by District buses, by Tri-Rail to the train station across the street on Tamarind Avenue, and by car. A few students live locally and walk or bike to the campus. The Class of 2010 collectively received over $19 million in scholarship offers.

I've trusted Music Man for years now. Because a valve boneman needs an expert brass repair person…read morein the same way a voice guy needs a good ENT. Or like a celeb-photog needs a souped up Vespa. Albert @ Music Man is that guy. (Not the celeb-photog...the repairman.) His knowledge of brass, woodwinds and mechanical slide-whistles is mind-blowing. Through the years, I've come to him with every sort of brass problem; from sticky valves to slide dings (in the more "conventional" horns from the arsenal) to pungent odor-removal following return of an instrument borrowed by a colleague who smoked...Lord knows what. (Thanks to their patented Chem-Clean System!) Albert kept my instruments happy. All of them. Not only that, but if you're in need of - say - a mouthpiece or band instrument, if Music Man doesn't have it, they know where to get it. I love these guys. You can too. Bring 'em your axe and watch 'em work. Music Man...a worn-out musical but impressive brass repair and band instrument facility.

In Oct Music Man picked up my sons tuba for repair....4 months later it was returned but it was another students tuba and they didn't believe my son. At the end of the year they said we had 'stolen' property. My son had no tuba for 4 months and a pretty junky one the remainder of the year. Music Man apologized and issued a credit but didn't pick up the instrument at the end of school. I have attempted to return the Tuba to the stores twice and they won't take it because the serial number isn't a match to the original rental because of their error but they keep billing me. So; they won't take it back and they even began sending me text messages for money. Sadly I have been very patiently emailing Cindy at Music Man on this since October. Perhaps I should bill them for my time? I've given them many chances to provide great service after their errors but they just cannot get there.
