Parque Arauco Mall SANTIAGO , CHILE…read more Just going over my notes from my last trip to Santiago and discovered my notation that I ate at Madam Tusan in January 2012. I am embarrassed to report that I do not remember what dish I ordered, but I did write in my notes that the food was EXCELLENT ! I do remember the meal because it was delicious, a fusion of Asian and Latin flavors. I plan to return and visit again in January 2015. My flight leaves tomorrow night for Santiago. Next time I will render a better report. I would highly recommend Madam Tusan as a fine place to dine. Sin embargo , espero que me entienden. ok...I am in Chile now, but in the city of La Serena, north of Santiago. The other day, when I was in Santiago I went to the PARQUE ARAUCO MALL. Then I saw it, the other Madam Tusan. I knew that I ate at Madam Tusan but did not remember where it waslocated. The address above at Av. Andres Bello was not the one I ate at, it was the one in PARQUE ARAUCO. Either way, the food there is excellent.. Of course there is parking in the Mall parking lot, for a small fee.

The traditional chile Rocoto sauce ( hope I spelt that correct) was out of the world ..had to order it twice ! BTW -the Chaufa ( Peruvian Chinese rice) though nicely done is not different from Any fried rice at a chinese restaurant .

Decided to try this place on my first night in Santiago partly because it was reasonably rated, but…read moremostly because it was close to my hotel and pouring rain outside. That night, it was clear I was the only customer. There were seven or eight guys standing around waiting for something to happen and, when I walked in, began to excitedly approach me like a pack of American used car dealers. I meetly thought of my dad's childhood warning to me-never eat in an empty restaurant. I have a mind to walk back out, but looking at the pouring rain, I decided to plunge forward and take the risk that my first meal in Santiago might be my worst. Surprise upon surprises, I wasn't disappointed. In the least. I ordered a Peruvian fish platter with a delicious side of some sort of savory corn and bean cake. The food was moist, flavorful, and it was clear that these guys took pride in what they were doing. The meal was accompanied by a side of some sort of delicious cilantro tapenade which I quickly slathered all the food with, only increasing the flavor. All in all, a satisfying dinner. I didn't feel taken advantage of in the least, and my used car dealer fears were unsubstantiated. I was in and out of there relatively quickly, which was fine--I had other things to do. The price was about 10,000- US$15- not a budget meal, but not highway robbery either. I wouldn't make a special detour for this place, but if you were looking for a slightly classy Peruvian meal in the neighborhood that won't shock your wallet, Olan might just be the ticket.

Every dish that I have tried is wonderful!! I prefer seafood dishes and have never been disappointed. The ceviche is always fresh (get the corvina!!) and tasty. Chicharrón de camarones (calamari) is lightly breaded and savory. And don't miss the machas a la parmesana!! To wash down the food, a glass of pisco sour catedral is a must!!! Olan is a little more expensive than other Peruvian restaurants in Santiago, but is well worth the price. You can taste the quality and attention to every dish you order here. I have never been disappointed with every visit and always look forward to another visit when I return to Chile.

Gold rings, necklaces and watches and an attitude to match. My family were visiting awhile back, so I thought I would take them to the tastiest food in Santiago: Peruvian. After some debate, we decided to go to Barandarian in Bella Vista so they could also check out the patio and this cool artsy strip filled with graffiti, nice architecture and one of Pablo Neruda's homes. When we arrived, we were sat promptly and received a lunch menu. Right away the owner, who happened to be there that day, came over to our table and started speaking with us in English. He was super nice (trying to charm my stepmom haha). He made sure our dishes came out perfectly and quickly. He also recommended what we should try based, one plate included goat which was quite good and the other was the tallarín saltado which was delicious (I definitely recommend it)! We had pisco sours to start. They were good, but mine was on the sweeter side so I asked if I could get some extra lemon juice and the waiter was quick to get it (free of charge). After we finished our meal, the owner came back and took a picture with us, he also gave my stepmom a "recuerdo" which was a picture she had commented to him earlier that she liked (very nice on his part). Overall, the food was good, a little on the pricier side, but definitely worth it and the service was great.
