Completely volunteer-run, this shop really has some cool stuff. Make sure you check out what's in the cases, as one special volunteer looks up all the vintage treasures and decides how to price them. The people here really care about animals and donate their time and goods to make animals' lives better. While I was there, I heard several conversations sharing the love of animals and even saw a few people stop in to donate their unique treasures. I especially loved the craft section, Vintage Christmas ornaments, the jewelry section, and enjoyed looking through the records. I even had to go home with a painting, although we had very limited space in our car. Don't miss the entire room for men's stuff called the "Man Cave"!

We bought a rhubarb plant to replant at home. My husband loved the gyro food truck and I tried a prime rib sandwich with peppers, o ions and cheese and a cup of tatie tots. I noticed that the food truck I got my sandwich at had a decal stating they were with the fire department. This flea market is run by the fire department. We also bought a couple of nylon lounge seating that looks like an inflatable canoe. I guess you can float on the water with them too. Hasn't been warm enough to try that out yet. I expect us to go back to this event several times between now and Labor Day.

I especially liked that many of the booths were shaded under big trees. Plenty of food trucks and snacks too. Bring cash as most stalls didn't take cards. It's not the Eiffel Tower or the Grand Canyon, but it is such an interesting place to stop and stretch your legs on a nice day while you're out on an up-north excursion. Read the Sacajawea inscription, see my photo. Due to Covid-19 the gift shop was closed, so we had to figure out what this place was about just by reading stuff on the outside of the building and other signage. Fred Smith was quite a character! You're not supposed to touch or climb on the statues, so if you keep your kids under control, this is a fine place for them. Lots of mosquitoes, have bug repellent.
