My experience with Tamara Tambe as the listing agent was incredibly disappointing. I entered escrow in good faith and removed only the physical inspection contingency. My loan and appraisal contingencies remained in place. When my lender ultimately informed me that my loan could not proceed, I submitted a written cancellation. From that point on, I was repeatedly told that I had "no rights to cancel." As a buyer, it felt as though exercising a contractual contingency was being treated as if I had done something wrong. Rather than working toward a practical resolution, the cancellation process lasted more than a month requiring me to retain legal counsel and initiate mediation over my earnest money deposit. I understand that a listing agent has a duty to advocate for the seller. However, there is a difference between advocating for your client and unnecessarily escalating a dispute. In my experience, what should have been a professional resolution became an unnecessarily prolonged and adversarial process. If I were interviewing listing agents as a seller, I would want to know how they handle transactions when something goes wrong--not just when everything goes right. Based on my experience, I would have concerns about whether extending a dispute for weeks, involving attorneys and mediation, ultimately served the seller's best interests. I hope future buyers and sellers alike experience a more professional, solution-oriented approach than I did. Buying a home should be exciting, not intimidating. Tamara helped sell my home during a divorce. She was a stellar broker who never took sides and truly worked endlessly to get our home sold quickly at a fair price. I therefore called her when I was ready 6-12 months later to purchase a new home. The market wasn't easy as we often were outbid after offering above asking price by often $60K. Tamara never faltered - she is the ultimate, calm, professional - always fresh and positive, and always finding new ideas and new homes every weekend. She helped us work past a very sad loss at a dream home at: 12813 Tiara St - originally listed at $785K. We offered full price - NOT good enough. The Dilbeck agent had us wait for weeks until there were several more open houses - so ultimately, we were presented to enter into a private bidding war with "5 other final contestors....I mean buyers" and we were finally, and ridiculously presented (after several of our counter offers) to make our best and final offer.
