Not a bad tamale option in Holland. The tamales were fresh and delicious. I tried the beef, pork and chicken. Got a strawberry as well. That was the star of the show. Online ordering is first available at 11:30am, but they open at 11am so I called so that I was able to get my order ready in 15 minutes which was awesome. I was trying to schedule my order in an attempt to have the food at my house by 11:30 but with the snow I was running late. The food was ready for me when I got there. The girl taking my order and handing it to me was very nice. She was very thoughtful about asking whether or not I wanted ice in my horchata which I did not. I ordered food to share with my friend so I got the 2 tamales meal choosing pork and beef and the 2 taco meal and got the steak and carnitas, junior supreme nachos, and a flan. It's hard to give a local taco joint less than five stars and that's how I feel about Tamales Plus, which I probably visit every other month. The tamales are great, as the name implies, but you can't go wrong with tacos, either. They have sweet tamales, as well, which isn't really my thing, but I've had their flan and that deserves a shout. Tamales Plus has really tasty and satisfying food. The ratio of masa to filling in the tamales is good/consistent, they use quality meat, no fat or grizzle to be found in the filling. I've tried something different each time, and have enjoyed them all immensely. Not too spicy for this gringa to eat, and super satisfying. The large Tamal bowl was a great choice, I will be getting that again for sure. Tres Leches is a must for me. The young ladies at the counter are always polite and welcoming. Found another hidden gem in Holland!! To no surprise tamales are their specialty from savory to sweet (which I didn't even know was a thing?!) they even have vegan tamales!! As far as tacos go they are keeping it simple with chicken and steak options but offer fish tacos on Fridays and Saturdays. I tried the steak tacos which were pretty unique - a bit sweeter and reminded me more of the traditional pastor tacos. The tacos were a smaller portion but very tasty!! They also infuse their own water- we tried the pineapple which was fantastic and more like a juice. They also had walking tacos with a variety of chips to choose from including Hot Cheetos. Since moving from CA we have struggled to find our new go-to Mexican restaurant. This just might be the one. It is really cute and pleasant inside and the food was delicious. Stumbled on this little place while working in Holland and I'm glad I did. The excellent curb appeal and giant Tamale sign drew me in. The menu was authentic yet diverse which resulted in some decision fatigue, I wanted to try everything. I ended up going with the tamales because I felt they'd live up to their name, and they did. Delicious! Fiance and I stopped by today for a late lunch after driving past this place many times. We each got a couple chicken and steak tacos with cilantro and onions, and a couple pork KETO tamales. Yes, this place has Keto tamales!! Almond flour ya'll.
