We had plans to go out of town for several days and because other family members were traveling to the same destination (where pets were not allowed), we had to board our dog for the first time. I called and was given a tour of the entire facility. The person who took me on the tour was very cordial, very accommodating, and answered all of my questions. Each staff member I ran into was very pleasant. I was shown a price sheet of the different boarding options and choose what I felt would work best (we did the National Parks area). I was informed that vaccine records would need to be verified and that there would need to be a meet and greet for the staff to check my dog's "temperament." This needed to be done before I could even make a reservation. All the while, I was hoping that there would be a reservation available by the time this was all done (I originally thought that we could go ahead and make the reservation and then take care of the other requests). In any case, as it turned out, there were a few spots left by the time everything was done. Because our dog is small and a bit timid, I specifically requested/wanted to make sure that he was walked alone, and didn't have his play time with any other dogs. I even paid for photos to be sent to us each day. There was an issue when I picked up my dog and I had to contact management to determine what happened. My frustration with this is that I should not have had to ask what happened; it should have been noticed and I should have been informed immediately. There was especially no excuse, in my opinion, for this oversight - especially when I was being contacted each day. I am still not totally clear on what happened, but I appreciate that my concern was immediately addressed by a manager, including ways to ensure that there wouldn't be a repeat of what happened. Because of the response, I will consider boarding my dog here again if I am in need of boarding services.

What I appreciate most is the consistency, professionalism, and genuine love Carrie and her team of professionals show for every dog. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my pup is in such great hands. If you're looking for a trustworthy, talented, and caring grooming team, this is the place. Highly recommend--5 stars every time!

Girl working told my wife he didn't eat all week. I carried him to the car and took him home. He never walked or stood again. Took him Monday 7/14 to be put to sleep. Plus both dogs stank so bad, I had to drive home with the windows open. My older dog is on medicine for an enlarged heart and another for a malabsorption disease. The woman who helped us picking up the dogs said that they did not give the malabsorption medicine to her but did give her the other pills. She said that she was not the one that did the intake (she was) and wasn't working over the weekend. I typed explicit notes on how much food, medication etc., the pills were organized in a pill container and I found that note crumpled up on the bottom of the bag with all their stuff. Over the next day my older dog was restless and panting so I ended up taking her to the emergency vet for treatment. She had fluid on her lungs and was put on oxygen and given IV treatment to remove the fluid. All in all it cost me $1,600. I truly believe they did not give her the heart medicine that keeps this from happening. I called and spoke with the owner who said he would "talk to the girls" about this and he was sorry. After thinking about this over the weekend, I called back and asked for a refund which I did not get. He said the girls claimed they gave her all her medicine, and I told him that I did not believe him. He said well he believed them and I was not getting a refund. It is clearly evident that I dropped off a dog exhibiting no apparent health problems and picked up a very sick dog. The owners really could have cared less about what happened. He basically paid me back with nothing but lip service. I will NEVER board my dogs there and recommend other do not use them. Side note: I live in Tallahassee not in California and I am not sure how my location changed.

I was told by reception they would pass info on to Dr. Todd, but told me it is probably a side effect of getting the Bordatella shot. Fast forward a few more days and it's getting worse. So I called again. First person who took the message said she had Tracheobronchitis (now I know what that is as I worked 4 years for a vet when I lived in Chicago) - aka Kennel Cough. Doc didn't call back so I called again - second girl I spoke to said I'd have to wait until end of day because doctor schedule was full. I just hung up - doctor called back and said it was a 'flu that was going around' - why lie? It cost me $90 for the meds. When I went to get the meds the girl told me that the 'kennel cough' would start being relieved within a couple days of starting meds. So that evening - the second dog started with the coughing and spitting up - had to pay another $90 for meds for her kennel cough. Here in lies the problem - both dogs are 4 years old - and have been boarded at other places many times. NEVER had kennel cough - or whatever NFAH wants to call it - but if you're going there prepare yourself for this. It's highly contagious and if they were to properly sterilize exam rooms, properly verify animal vaccines before boarding and properly sterilize kennels it could reduce incidents. My dogs have not been in or near any other animals since January. This was a direct cause of taking them to NFAH. I trusted them. Paid over $250 for shots, then another $180 for meds to get rid of the kennel cough they contracted at NFAH. Shame shame.

UNPROFESSIONAL, UNTRUSTWORTHY, TREAT ANIMALS LIKE PRODUCTS ON A FACTORY LINE. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU…read moreLOVE YOUR ANIMAL. Be warned that when the vet tech does an intake form with you and your dog, that she will then take your dog to the back room not just to get weight as is the norm but she AND the vet will then, allegedly, do everything you discussed with vet tech. After a long wait, the vet will come in and tell you the results of his, alleged, examination--still without your dog present. When questions were asked re costs for extra blood tests & whether records showed vaccinations from previous year (thus eliminating the need for them at appointment), the vet said he'd go check and return with the information. He never came back because he had already administered the vaccine and didn't want to tell you, and when the vet tech finally returned dog, she provided a doc showing vaccination had already been administered (so vet lied). There was NO written summary of the exam documenting what had been done. Conclusion: removal of animal for complete exam behind closed doors is suspicious and contrary to standard practice. Most vets/vet techs WANT the human involved with the exam. I have NO assurance that anything they billed me for doing actually occurred, nor do I trust this vet or vet tech. When all of this was relayed to both vet and vet tech, the only reply was they'd put it in my records that I wanted to be present during the exam of my dog. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG/CAT.

Not only do I trust them completely with my dog, but the text updates are so very nice when away from your fur baby. I love the idea of my dog staying at a home where he is not in a kennel for a majority of the day like he would be at another boarding place. He gets plenty of play/social time with other dogs. My dog seems to be excited when I drop him off, unlike other boarders he's previously been to. Not to mention the price is much better. I would not advice to leave your dog here if your dog does not so well with many other dogs as they all have free roam of the house, for the most part. Whether scared/anxious or aggressive with many dogs. A kennel will probably do better. For social dogs, this is a great option! Isaiah is professional and very friendly. Isaiah- our main point of contact for our two dogs we boarded- was so authentic, kind, and professional. I am so happy with the treatment that my two dogs received; you can tell that this place cares about the animals they are taking care of. Our dogs were not held up in their kennels the whole time and were treated like actual pets, not just things that needed to be stored (like other boarding places do). We received updates and pictures daily, and seeing how genuinely happy our pups were was such a relief. The cherry on top was that the boarding family was very flexible with our schedules when it came time for pick-up, as our return flight back to Tallahassee kept getting delayed and we missed our original time. I will not be boarding my pets anywhere else but here!
