If you are stopping by Todos Santos on your next visit to Cabo San Lucas, please do yourself a favor and stop by this small but mighty coffee shop. The line may be long when you arrive, but the sweet smells of buttery sugar will keep you convinced to wait for your turn, for your turn will come in a matter of minutes. There's very few seating available and the cafe is fully under the sun, so make sure you are not coming here to have a long chat with your friend. Their coffees are strong and iced lattes are refreshing on a sunny day in Mexico, but the winning item on their menu is clearly the sticky buns. These buns are so doughy and soft and have a generous serving of walnuts; they also are quite sticky as the name suggests from the combination of sugar and butter. I honestly wished they were larger and I am not even generally too much of a fan of desserts. They have scones, hamentashen, and all sorts of other non-Mexican baked goods, which may dissuade you at first from stopping by on your short trip, but honestly, this cafe offers the same quality of a spot you'd find in Manhattan. Everything the 5-star reviews say about this cozy bakery is true. It feels like a bakery that has been transported to Todos Santos from San Francisco. We stayed in Todos Santos for a week and had breakfast here every day except for Wednesday when they are closed. We tried the sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, hamantashen, chocolate chip cookies, breakfast sandwich on focaccia, chocolate pecan cookies, carrot cake, morning glory muffins, and everything was absolutely stellar. Not traditional Mexican, but the best bakery and cafe I've found in a while. The matcha latte was perfectly creamy and rich (even with almond milk) and had the most delicious matcha flavor. The affogato was tasty, but how can you go wrong with good quality espresso and vanilla bean ice cream? I need to avoid sweets, so my husband got to pick. I am not a fan of muffins or banana muffins, so I'm not the best judge. It was light and fresh tasting rather than dense with only a subtle banana flavor and most importantly, not too sweet. I dream of going back and trying one of the blondies or brownies. There is very limit seating outside, but the place is tiny and mostly for take away. I like that they limit it to about two clients at a time for ordering, so there might be a line. Staff are friendly and really know what they are doing. 10/10! read more

While waiting for our COVID tests at St. Jude's we searched for bakeries in the same neighborhood and Taller 17 came up first. It's always nice to treat yourself after that horrid Q-tip insertion. We had to stand in line outside since they were only allowing one person at a time in the bakery. Well worth the wait because the scent of warm cinnamon butter took over the city streets. When I peeked at the goodies behind the glass I spotted the gooey walnut pin wheels on a baking sheet which must have been the hot item that morning. And that they were. This was the best thing I ever bit into. It was warm, sweet, delicate, and all around amazing. I don't normally eat a whole baked treat like that, but I had to since we all had our own, minus the guy who got a cookie. Outstanding coffee and incomparable baked goods served with a smile and some friendly conversation. This instantly became one of my favorite places in Todos Santos. Panderia y cafe superior, Taller 17's owner/master baker, Juliana, has connections with Tartine, San Francisco, California's best bakery. No surprise then that my carrot muffin was the best I've had. The cinnamon roll, rol de canela, I had on my second visit was pure bliss - still warm, fresh out of the oven. Cinnabon seems like a cardboard roll by comparison. My gf ranked her blueberry scone as a 9 or 10. She tends to be a ridiculously tough judge, like the Russians from the Olympics of old! If you don't love this place then you should not be eating baked goods. Definitely one of the best lattes in town on top of all that. Five stars from all the judges! A gem of a coffee shop in Todos Santos! I ordered a caliente chai latte with oat milk and it was perfection. It was actually hot and not lukewarm like a lot of other coffee shops. It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of spice. They also had a display of delightful pastries! I ordered the sticky bun and the texture was on point and went well with my chai latte. Holy cow, amazing coffee and baked goods! My cappuccino was perfection and the scone I had was straight out of the oven! I'm a total scone snob and this was was right off the charts. Hubs had a nice americano and a gluten free brownie that was fudge and delicious. This place is pretty small so not a good fit for big groups. Very cute though and I highly recommended it for some amazing coffee and pastries. Edit: I went there three times today. I have no shame! Hubs needed a SECOND gluten free brownie and then I wanted cold brew, which was outstanding.
