The price of their courses is cheap compared to what you'll find in other private schools. The teachers and principal are very easy to reach and communicate with. The course work is very fair, and even if you are struggling you can easily get help from the teachers. Overall it was an amazing experience and I recommend it to any student who's interested in Private School

My husband and I both grew up in small towns where the school was a part of the community and…read moreteachers were an extension of family. They had an vested interest in our success and instilled a sense of hard work and fun into our education. When our son was to start JK this past year we looked at a number of public and private schools to find something that mirrored our experience. We were very lucky to have stumbled upon Olivet. The sense of community, strong emphasis on being a good kind person, small class size and importance placed on outdoor learning had our attention. We went for a tour and were welcomed with open arms. In a city like Toronto and the large class sizes in our public schools with so much attention in "checking" boxes and treating all children the same we were very happy and impressed with the culture and principles practised at Olivet. I strongly encourage any family contemplating an alternative to public school to invest the time to tour Olivet. We are very happy with our decision and our daughter will be attending once it is her turn.

Attending The Linden School was one of the worst experiences of my life. It has been over 10 years…read moresince I left, and I still carry trauma from my time there. Instead of being a place of growth and encouragement, the school created an atmosphere of fear, exclusion, and constant judgment. A teacher, Rory consistently singled me out in ways that felt unfair and humiliating. The leadership under the principal, Janice, only made things worse -- the administration fostered an environment that was punitive rather than supportive, and students like me were left feeling isolated and diminished. The impact of this experience has stayed with me long after, which says everything about the culture of this school. I would strongly warn families to reconsider before sending their children here.

She started at Linden in junior high school with average grades and a perception of herself as an average student who struggled in various subjects. She left Linden with top grades across all subjects and a perception of herself as someone who could do anything she set her mind to. She went on to attend the University of Toronto and graduated with an Honours Degree with Highest Distinction. I will always be grateful to the Linden School. This school had a profoundly positive impact on my daughter's life.

I am a parent of a 5-year-old boy, and I enrolled him in a week-long summer camp recently. My son…read morewas not enjoying the experience whatsoever, due to lack of interesting and engaging activities and a divide he felt between him and his counselors that made them seem cold and unapproachable. However, the tipping point for me was when my son came home with a large cut on his left ankle. He told me that he had fallen on concrete at a park during camp and had scraped his ankle. When he approached a teacher, asking for help, she shrugged him away, telling him that another camper had recently fallen as well and that she was handling it better than she was, and for him to "suck it up." It was evident that my son had gotten his injury tended to only an hour or so after receiving it, and this experience, as well as his time at the camp overall, left him with not only physical but emotional harm as well. This was the school's summer program, but if the camp was any indication of what attending the school is like, I would strongly advise against sending your children to receive their education at North Star.
