Room 9 had vinyl flooring, clean white linens on the beds, and it looks like the walls were freshly painted. The owner, Tim was so accommodating from time of booking and throughout our stay. Upon arrival, we parked outside our room, got dressed to ski, and walked to the chairlift. You cannot beat the location! After a day of skiing, the indoor heated pool was awesome for our family. The cozy room next to the pool with the wood burning fireplace and lots of seating was a gem. We ordered pizza from Western Ave pizzeria and they delivered and Tim offered plates, napkins and utensils and showed us how the coffee tables lifted so we could sit on the comfy couches and eat by the fire. I would highly recommend staying here. It was a clean and comfortable place to stay so we could ski and use a heated pool in February, which was perfect for our family with young kids. We will definitely be back next school vacation week!

The cheese board I thought was fine, although my wife and daughter thought the assortment of meats seemed passed their expiry date. My wife's squash soup had separated and appeared to have an oily film on the surface. She stirred it and it mixed together. The main course turkey white was dry and very grisly and did not have much texture to it. The dark meat was extremely dry. The mashed potatoes were OK but the gravy was mostly AWOL!. There was a dab of cranberries and a decent assortment of vegetables. The dessert was served mine was a chocolate cake and some how they managed to get both sides stale! Not just a little stale but 3 day old stale. We told them about most of the issues and they gave us $25 off and 4 slices of white meat that looked like loaf. Eaten there before and mostly found it enjoyable. But spending $350-400 and getting this is not acceptable. We could have gone to the Red Arrow diner and gotten a better meal for $75.

Continuing to Cayla the day front desk, who is somewhat better and works hard but does not have experience knowledge or support from her seniors. Carrie/Kerry and her GM Michelle are simply lacking the professionalism and respect to even begin to understand the very nature of 4* customer svc let alone the very basics of customer satisfaction. They are borderline discriminatory and at the outset rude, interrupt customers for the most basic requests, repeatedly making excuses, and simply cannot support the level of svc this property should have. We stayed three times to be sure it was consistently bad, under two different booking names. The allure of the high quality restaurant/bar and covered barking let us coming back. But it won't again. We have had enough of the AI robot voice calling us "sugar" and "honey" and offering us walking directions to a "good cup of hot chocolate" instead of just telling us the breakfast hours - which by the way is cooked by a robotic (I'm not joking, com's see for yourself) automated egg cooking machine - which does a decent job! - when it works and doesn't include broken shells. The express machine is good. The evening repackaged Market Basket linzer and black/white cookies are avg. But when you ask three times and make four phone calls just to get a simple work surface desk so you can do emails at night and keep up with work obligations - only to be told that "govt rate rooms only get certain rooms" after being promised a desk - enough is enough. We paid $600, and spent another $500 in the restaurant one week, but apparently they had more important customers. And we were dumb enough to come back the next week thinking it must have been a a busy week. But nope, they just don't care, doesn't matter - they were 40% booked according to the front desk lady - and you get what you get, no desk or king bed available - even though the website showed they were. Sorry folks - this property must have a secret code word - I hope AAA knows they wasted a rating here. Much better properties in NH that better represent our NH hospitality industry. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.

Built around 1817, they have done a great job bringing it up to date without losing its charm, meaning, it's immaculate and everything works fine! The walls are adorned with local art for sale and each room has its own name and character. We stayed in the Juliet and Romeo; the ladies are listed first on each door; a wise move. While there's not a lot to do in Greenfield, New Hampshire, it's all within a few doors of the Inn. Mi Corazon is an excellent Mexican restaurant two doors down; great food, margaritas, and Saturday night karaoke was a blast. Harvest Market, two more doors down, has everything plus locally sourced products from produce to craft beers and specialty foods. The church from the 1700s is across the street but Sunday we stayed behind enjoying the breakfast spread and Keurig coffees. This is a beautiful part of New Hampshire that has kept its charm. The church bell still chimes on the hour in this small town even as time itself seems to slow down.

This beautiful wooded oasis is just up the hill from Fitchburg State University. The home is lovely, with three upstairs rooms available for guests. With our family along, we spent time in two of the rooms. The Harvard is spacious and has a great shower with streams from two sides. What a luxurious experience! The Hudson is also roomy with a serene view of the pool and the back woods (and chicken coop!). It has a jetted tub, so very relaxing, and a shower too. The beds are huge and comfortable, with what must be a pillow-top on the tall firm mattress. These might be the most comfortable rooms we've ever stayed in at a B&B! Breakfast is freshly made with several delicious options from a menu where you make you selections the night before. The eggs are fresh from their own chickens! The hosts Sarah and Ryan served us in a well-lit "Florida Room" with a view of the flower-garden. And we saw a hummingbird flitting among pink and lavender flowers! On the first floor, in addition to the breakfast room, there's a kitchenette with complimentary beer and soft drinks and snack bars, single-serve coffees, and tea bags with a hot and cold water dispenser, (and both milk and cream, thx!). There is a large comfortable sitting room, where we spent part of a pleasant evening with the friendly owners, swapping travel stories. And from there is an enclosed brick pathway to a rec room with a nice billiard table. To the left is the clean outdoor pool, or ahead is the open covered lighted porch with a ceiling fan, which has a step down to the pool. We took a few laps, then walked down and around to the patio with a fire-pit and a large jacuzzi. On an overcast September day, the pool was cool but not chilly, and the jacuzzi was warm with easy-to-adjust powerful jets. The chicken coop is hidden downhill a bit further, and there's no resident rooster so you might hear some cheerful clucking but no raucous crowing. It's just 1.5h by MBTA train from North Station in Boston to this tranquil hideaway. The hosts are charming and hard-working, always making improvements, always ready with friendly conversation. The price is of course a bit more than some local hotels, but not at all expensive, and our envious hotel-staying relatives all came by for a relaxing evening of wine on the porch.

We were traveling with our two children and chose the inn because it appeared to be a traditional New England property in a convenient location. Condition of the Property: The building and interiors appear not to have been updated in decades. Much of the furniture, fixtures, and decor looked extremely worn and outdated. Rather than feeling historic or charming, the property felt neglected. Cleanliness: Several areas of the inn appeared poorly maintained and not particularly clean, which made it difficult to relax in the room or common areas. Management Interaction: Our interaction with the manager, Stan, was uncomfortable. He came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the stay feel even more awkward. Overall Atmosphere: The general condition of the building was unsettling enough that our children were actually frightened and asked if we could leave and stay somewhere else. While the location could be appealing, the property seems to need significant updates, improved upkeep, and a more welcoming approach to guests.
