My boyfriend and I stumbled across this inn; while trying to find lodging for our ski trip. I can't say enough good things about this inn! The staff was extremely accommodating, and the food was out of this world. The inn gave off Gilmore Girl Vibes! So cute and so quaint. We will absolutely be back here again.

We stopped in for a late dessert on the spite of the moment and in the true fashion of hospitality the front house staff welcomed us with a smile and set a table for us. If you have never been here it is worth a stop as the food is always fresh and new and the desserts give meaning to the word "Savory!" I have not stayed at the inn as we live close by, but the Grazing Room Resturant should be on your list of top places to stop on New Hampshire if you live here or are passing through.

I am so incredibly impressed with my stay here that I would LOVE to return & have already told so many people about this wonderful place! You have to see for yourself! I wanted a tranquil place that wasn't too far from home that we could get away to for a night. I hadn't heard of this place before, but I had a feeling I would enjoy it from other guest reviews. I booked room #7 for one night 7/13-7/14 to celebrate my 5 year anniversary with my boyfriend. There is so much that I plan to write here, but let me start off by saying that the staff is so welcoming! Both Bruce (the chef) & Jeff (the innkeeper) welcomed us & Jeff brought us to our room. He gave us some background information about the property & offered us beverages if we needed any while we got settled. The room is quaint & I was sure to take pictures to always remember! The bed was comfortable, the entire room including the bathroom were immaculate, & I actually liked that there wasn't a TV in this room! There is a TV in some of the rooms & there is a sitting area with a TV & games to enjoy. When we arrived, we had about an hour before the dinner reservation that I had made so we decided to explore. As many people have mentioned, the grounds are BEAUTIFUL & well maintained! I can understand why people would host a wedding or a party here - it is perfect! We spent some time sitting in the gazebo & walking around enjoying the nature. We loved having the opportunity to take some quiet time & "unplug" from all of daily life. One of the most fun parts of our stay was going out to give the goats treats! They were so cute & definitely knew we were coming with treats because they were pretty excited to see some strangers headed in their direction! I have many pictures of them, as well! After exploring for a bit, it was time for dinner & I could NOT wait to experience The Grazing Room. It isn't often that we get to enjoy farm-to-table fresh food! The menu changes with what is available (which makes sense). It is a bit more on the pricey side, but it is fresh, fine dining so it should be expected. The kitchen was out of the rib-eye that my boyfriend had wanted, but instead he had the lobster dinner which was about $48.00. I immediately knew that I wanted the Summer Risotto (risotto is my favorite!) which was one of the least pricey meals on the menu at $26.00. We started with a cheese plate that was scrumptious! Again, I did take pictures, so check them out! In the background jazz music was playing; it was so calming & fitting for a romantic evening. I don't believe there were many guests staying during the time we were there, but that kept it more intimate. The next morning, breakfast was included (a small gratuity was requested) & there were 2 options. Danielle was our server & she was so pleasant & attentive! We started out with a parfait & a muffin that were delicious! Then we had the choice of french toast with a mixed berry compote or a Mediterranean dish called "Shakshuka" with fresh goat cheese. We each ordered 1 of each & tried a little of each other's. WOW. Just WOW! It was incredible, seriously. Check out was at 11 & we had some time to kill so again, we walked around the grounds & had a visit with the goats before parting ways to head to our next destination (Merrimack for the Budweiser Brewery tour!) It was difficult to leave, I have to say. Next time that I can go, I want to stay at least 2 nights! Thank you to all of the staff for being so wonderful! WE WILL BE BACK!

The quintessential New England inn, this place has it all: cozy, comfortable rooms, incredible gourmet food, friendly & attentive staff, and a charming town within walking distance. If you're a foodie or looking to move out of the fast lane for a bit, give this place a look. Finally, an old restored barn looks like it could be an amazing place for a wedding or party & the owners here seem to really care about the customers.

Tremendous experience! While the rest of the world was excited to bring 2020 to an end, we found a slice of perfection in this rustic, cozy inn with the charm of a New Hampshire mountain farm and attention to detail of a 5 star restaurant. The accommodation made for a perfect New Year's Eve celebration. The staff and owners attention to detail was second to none. The bed and sheets so wonderful we did not want to leave the bed! Our room had warm morning sunlight coming in from over the mountains. The food infuses local flavors, vibrancy and style into this sleepy mountain ski town. This place is a massive hidden gem. So fortunate there are inn owners who care so deeply about their quality of food and lodging to a level of detail which all the alchemy perfectly comes together!

We stayed at the Colby Hill Inn last night and I must say the food at The Grazing Room was incredible!!!! Chef Barnes did such an amazing job! We participated in a five course wine pairing dinner and the theme was Italian. I also ordered the cheese board. Breakfast was also phenomenal! If you are a major foodie like I am this is the place to be!

We stayed in one of the carriage house accommodations. The whirlpool tub was a nice touch, but there were a few things that needed upgrading within the room. The star of the show for us was the amazing dinner and breakfast served at the inn. Farm fresh and made to order, we were pleased at each meal. Finding hidden gems like this leaves one with the dilemma- to review or not to review. I would love to keep this to myself, but the rest of New England should know. A welcome retreat in any season. If you're looking for an all inclusive (nice room with food on property) place within close proximity to a brewery, and ski resorts- look no further.

Fantastic breakfast included with the stay. Everything is fresh & fantastic!!!

Built around 1817, they have done a great job bringing it up to date without losing its charm, meaning, it's immaculate and everything works fine! The walls are adorned with local art for sale and each room has its own name and character. We stayed in the Juliet and Romeo; the ladies are listed first on each door; a wise move. While there's not a lot to do in Greenfield, New Hampshire, it's all within a few doors of the Inn. Mi Corazon is an excellent Mexican restaurant two doors down; great food, margaritas, and Saturday night karaoke was a blast. Harvest Market, two more doors down, has everything plus locally sourced products from produce to craft beers and specialty foods. The church from the 1700s is across the street but Sunday we stayed behind enjoying the breakfast spread and Keurig coffees. This is a beautiful part of New Hampshire that has kept its charm. The church bell still chimes on the hour in this small town even as time itself seems to slow down.

My husband and I went skiing at Mt. Sunapee and searched for a nearby place to crash. There were not many options besides bigger motels, this option was perfect. The home has 3 guest bedrooms, all appointed with top of the line furnishings, 2 have mountain views. We had the apple blossom room. The bathroom had an awesome jetted tub that George showed us how to use. It was so high tech it even has a button to clean itself after. The bedroom was impeccable with a light carpet and no trace of wear on it. The bed was comfy and the room had a little deck and LCD TV. Outside is a big yard and little barn area with chickens. Linda left a plate of cheese and fruit out of us at our arrival. After skiing it was the perfect snack. I thought that was good then when we returned from dinner, she had put out a plate of home made cookies. We ate them by the fire with tea. She takes pride in the food she offers, even having a tea menu and serving in a individual pot. George saw we enjoyed the fire and brought in more logs to keep it going. Breakfast in the morning was incredibly filling and yummy. She started us with caramelized pears and Greek yogurt, then a plate of their own eggs, ham, corn-cakes and fruit. On the side we had a moist orange nut bread. While we were there, there was 1 other woman staying and we chatted her up. While we were getting ready to leave, Linda gave me a cookbook calendar with some of the recipes used in her breakfast. What a great way to leave and as a newlywed I'm already planning to make some recipes soon. I hope to come back in the summer too to explore and use the nearby lake. In the winter they have snowshoes to borrow. I highly recommend this place for an all seasons getaway.

I have almost forgotten how wonderful it can be to stay in a great B&B, and this one certainly…read morerestored my passion for it -- and then some. From the street it looked like a charming New England B&B and there are plenty of those in the area. What sets this particular one apart, in my opinion, are the following: * At the back of this charming home is a beautifully crafted, lush garden with a hammock and benches placed in strategic nooks designed for optimal book-reading or daydreaming. At the top of the small hill is a pergola -- for more daydreaming, or if you are a bride-to-be looking for a romantic venue, this tops the cake. * The added bonus: you get your own entrance to a walking trail (please see picture below) that connects to a network of trails. It's beautiful now in the the summer time. I imagined how much more beautiful it will be in autumn. I must come back. * The breakfasts are to die for!! Imaginative and definitely gourmet. BTW, I had stayed in some expensive hotels before (the Four Seasons, etc.) -- in my opinion, this B&B's breakfast is better. Way, way better. On my first day, the second course was freshly-baked frittata with a side of steamed kale and zucchini -- picked from their garden. The cheese had just the right gooey to it, and the eggs were fluffy. Day 2: French-toasted croissant filled with creamy custard and drizzled with maple-orange syrup. Yum! * The Owner, Lynn is a wonderful person who had lived in Brattleboro for a very long time and knows its ins and outs -- from where to get great cheese to Brattleboro's unique home architectures. Engaging when a guest needed help and wonderfully welcoming. Yet, I always felt I had my privacy. She has mastered how to be a great host. BTW, the rooms are clean and well kept with a touch of history and modern amenities -- for example: I had a double shower head (a rain shower and a handheld). One last thing: In a hotel or an Airbnb, I always felt unsafe -- locked and double locked. In contrast, in the three days that I stayed here, I left my windows open at night to feel the cool evening breezes from the garden, and during the day, I left my door unlocked while I ate breakfast at the dining room. Priceless. I would come back for the breakfast, or the garden and walking trails, or the wonderfully warm, welcoming atmosphere -- better still, get all three. This one is definitely worth going back to again and again whenever I find myself looking for a great place to stay in Vermont. Highly recommended!
