Medley - aka Northwest Hialeah aka Miami's industrial area - actually has a nice little hidden gem of a Mediterranean/ Lebanese restaurant. Located in the same building as another couple of favorite restaurants, I tried Takesh for dinner last night. It's near a few office parks and extended stay hotels so it's a gem for this area. When you step inside, it is a world away from the concrete plants and office & warehouse parks you expect. You can either sit at the bar or enjoy one of the tables inside. My recent visit, I sat at the bar to obtain some sustenance after a busy workday. I started with their purée lentil soup which was pretty flavorful. Their Muhammara also has a good mix of sweetness and heat. I even used it to add a little bit of extra seasoning to my chicken Kakob. Make sure to leave some space for their mango cheesecake. As other yelpers mentioned, prices are in line what you would expect in the nicer parts of town versus an industrial area. They also charge a 20 percent automatic gratuity and sell only filtered water (ie having to pay extra for each one.) These logistical issues are why I can't give it 5 stars. read more

I finally decided to give Takesh a try. Went there for lunch and dined in. The restaurant decor is simple and pretty. While I enjoyed my food and the refreshing mint lemonade, the price for the portion was not ideal. I ordered the Lamb Kabob lunch special, picture added. Lastly, the service was a bit slow and it wasn't busy. This was a bit hard to rate because as I stated, the food was tasty. read more

Enjoyed lunch here a few weeks ago. I had the branzino which was cooked perfectly. It was accompanied by rice and some nicely charred zucchini. Although located in an unassuming strip mall, the interior of the restaurant is very classy and well appointed. I loved it so much I came back for dinner. It was about 10 minutes from closing and the cook and server offered to stay to accommodate me. I declined because I felt bad since I was the only one in the restaurant. The only thing I don't understand is the 18% automatic gratuity. I generally try to do better (and it was definitely warranted) but maybe some people don't appreciate good service. This is a great middle-eastern restaurant- and right by my job!! Very convenient! The restaurant is decorated very nicely - very modern and elegant. The food is also amazing - a little pricey for an everyday lunch, but still very good. My coworkers and I loved the food here!! The only reason I am not putting 5 stars is that the service was pretty slow. My one hour lunch turned into two bc the server would disappear. But food wise - this place is great. When we don't feel like cooking at home or are out, Takesh is our go to. Amazing quality of both food and taste. The portions are great as well as the prices. My husband and I meet his parents at Takesh Grill at least once a month. We each travel about 30 miles to this mid-point meeting spot that has allowed us a place to have family time over a fantastic meal! The food and the service are phenomenal. Our meals are always made properly and are served steaming hot! We typically start with their mixed platter and Takesh Cauliflower plate. I am a vegetarian and order the Falafal wrap, my mother-in-law orders the Lamb Chops, my husband and father-in-law switch between the beef and chicken shawarma. All of us order our plates with french fries, because theirs are hands-down better then what you will eat at any other restaurant! When we are done eating we always finish with a cappuccino. Theirs is made to perfection; a delicious eye-opening cup of coffee topped with cinnamon-yumm!! Eating at Takesh Grill is like taking your palette on a foodie-tour. Their food is a wonderful blend of spices and flavors and has some recognizable dishes found in Greek, Turkesh and other Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean foods such as hummus, shawarma and Falafel. Takesh Grill is what we would consider affordable fine-dining. It is a family owned establishment using traditional recipes and creating an experience by sharing foods and flavors unique to their culture. The food here is excellent. I have ordered many times for work events, Christmas events at my house and often just for lunch. Not just me but my coworkers as well. We always have the same issue because they are extremely stingy with the pita bread. I just don't understand. I just picked up lunch and it was a platter, a salad and a hummus appetizer and we got 2 pita breads. I asked how many come with a hummus appetizer and he said only one. So you expect us to eat an entire hummus appetizer with one pita bread. I guess everyone eating the hummus appetizer will have to split the 1 pita bread. After I said how ridiculous that was and complained he said the chef approved to give me one more pita just this once. Any other Lebanese restaurant in the area and I'm talking Jabibi, Layali, Kabbab Grill, etc. will always give you enough pita for the appetizer or the meal that you are ordering. I'm not complaining because of the one time this has happened I'm complaining because this has happened every single time we order and as I mentioned before we order all the time. I suggested to the guy in the front he should bring it up with management as this is a recurring issue with take out. Apparently if you dine in the rules are different. My husband and I are vegan. We stopped by to try the restaurant as we have passed it a few times. The food is fresh and delicious! The restaurant doesn't serve plant-based protein or tofu as substitutions so we ordered from the appetizer menu. We HIGHLY recommend the restaurant if you enjoy the flavor of eggplant or chickpeas (two of our faves!) We tried the Mixed Mezze Platter and 2 orders of Spinach Fatayer. As soon as I saw the sign for "Lebanese Food", I was game! I wasn't really hungry at the time, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to taste some (assuming) tasty, garlicky, chicken and beef kabobs that I remember from years passed. I ordered the chicken kabobs, which included rice pilaf and grilled zucchini and onion. The meat was perfectly marinated and grilled with a tiny bit of char. The veggies were tender firm and the pilaf was seasoned to perfection. The waitresses were friendly, and prompt to greet us and take our orders. For dessert, my family and I shared a plate of Baklava and Turkish coffee. The luscious pastry had a relatively light texture compared some. It went hand-in-hand with the Turkish coffee. I can't have one without the other! Maybe this doesn't matter to others, but the women's restroom was very clean and well stocked. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine when restaurant restrooms are unclean. The cleanliness of the restroom is an indicator of how clean the kitchen is. If under great management, restrooms will be clean. The dining room was very clean and I didn't see any empty tables that needed attention. The lighting was slightly dim and romantic :) I don't want to end my review on a unappetizing subject, (sorry if TMI ) but I've said enough.
