After talking to Richard the owner, I decided to sign up on their intro flight lesions. The price was great, $139 for 2 flight hours in the Piper Warrior 2, 2 Ground School Lessons and an orientation. It was a great experience. I have completed my entire Ground School Requirements for the FAA exam. Jeff and Mike the 2 instructors are cool, and going to class from 7PM to 9:30 PM was great too. I met some real good people in that class. Now, I have passed the FAA exam, have taken 20 hours of flight time with my SUPER HERO also called Glenn Rauch. He has made learning flying to a new enjoyable level. Glenn is my second Certified Instructor (CFI). I am now so eager to meet up to go flying every 2nd. day. And every time I'm learning something new. The course is very well structured. Best if you take 2 to 3 flying lessons a week. Training this way is a lot better than taking only a few hours in a month. I can only speak for myself; I had to choose again, I would always go back to Golden State and ask to fly with Glenn. Thanks for a great learning experience; I couldn't have ask for a better school.

I am a mother of a student at this school. In other words, I am paying the bill…read more.. My experience with this school for 1 year before my son even started has been nothing short of professional, informative, responsive and also unique! I shopped schools for a week. I knew I found what would be best for my kid when we met Reza and Dina. They have their whole hearts into these students. Here I will share my experience. I will also let you know: my close friends also have sons going to different universities and CFA is on par with the public university system. The orientation was much anticipated! After waiting almost a year to start my son was very nervous and excited. Here, the 12 class members were inducted into the school with special guest speakers and data and tons of info. I was there with my son, it was really sweet and friendly and the staff really did well getting to know the basics of each student. Only 3 Americans! The appts were made for the medicals, the passwords were set and the logins were walked through. There were some things we had to buy: uniforms, headset, fuel tester, books, ipad.. none of these things were different from what I had to buy for my own education in nursing school (scrubs, stethoscope, sphygometer, books, computer, vaccinations etc) so it was no surprise, and shouldn't be for anyone who is serious about any career. These are things that he gets to keep forever, I still have my 1st stethoscope. They did get a flight go-bag to put everything in as a welcome. That was really awesome. CFA housing is great...it's cheap, basic, safe and close to the school. My son rides his bicycle to school in 20 mins. It is very much apartment like and the 3 other guys in my sons apartment are going through the school together so there is lots of bonding. They make dorm rules and study together and there is even incentive if they keep the cleanest dorm (gift certificate for av fuel). The housing Dad was really kind and friendly and promised the students would be taken care of as long as they communicate their needs. This experience has been great. This is a school who takes care of their students while also remembering they are adults and can make their own way. My kid is in good hands. I recommend this school to anyone looking for a structured learning environment flight school. This is not a DIY school. It engages you daily and you get out what you put in by showing up, studying and asking questions. The staff is there to help and guide. This is also different from other flight schools in the area because it takes the student to the commercial airline path, which is very different from other schools and students looking for a simple personal license.

The staff, fleet and weather in San Diego helped me into finishing as fast as I did. After finishing my training, I built my flight time as a flight instructor at CFA. Hi Johan, I want to…read morethank you for telling the public my personal story. Don't worry about deleting it I already took screen shots. Your passive aggressive response speaks volumes of the character of SAA and it's Employees. Allow me to give you a lesson. When you buy a business and rename it, relocate, hire new management, or a period of years go by, IT'S STILL THE SAME FREAKING BUSINESS! Even your own website says you have been training pilots since 2000. I find it interesting that when you do a quick search on the FAA website for SAA International you get nothing. When you search for Scandinavian Aviation Academy Inc, you get the SAA international address and phone number. It must be a terrible coincidence. I'll call them tomorrow morning and notify them of the computer glitch. Also, don't act like you did some spectacular search for my file. When I called Scandinavian or SAA or whatever fake business name you are operating under to finish my program I had to send all my paperwork because you "lost" it. The owner said I could come back and start training until I asked for a refund and then he acted like it was a different school. Your last response has moved me to start picketing outside the School. I wonder how the story will look on the news?

He is very responsive and nice to see someone so invested in helping them out with their goals! I had been researching quite a few schools in the San Diego area for flying the past couple months and very excited I chose LTFSD. They have very flexible scheduling which is convenient when working full time. For their rates, customer service, and instructors, you can't beat a school like this. I get it and we did provide background and history and giving up controls can be hard as a new instructor and new-to-you student. Either way we would definitely fly with Learn to FLY SD again just with a more experienced instructor who can meet my son where he is at. Priced appropriately too which is a plus!

Arrived at the school and before i could put a name to the face he actually greeted me and was cool but once i stated my name and told him it was me you were texting that he was super unprofessional and he should not talk to people/future students that way if i answer fine if not im busy and BUDDY WAS READY TO FIGHT. I said i need to talk to a higher up to file a complaint and he said he was the highest in the building and that we can talk. As we are conversating he became more agitated and started stepping up to me and telling me to be a "man" and then guided me to a empty classroom to talk behind closed doors. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT with the way he has been aggressive and essentially baiting me into an altercation. I stated i wanted a 3rd party there due to the tense situation he was creating. He then guided me to the welding area and pulled the welding teacher aside infront of students and started again saying be a man and say what you have to say and again i said i need someone thats in a high position i need to do some type of formal complaint and know its been acknowledged. Whole time the man was swaying back and forth belittling me and just asking for a fight which was not my intentions at all. The welding teacher was completely clueless and wasnt understanding what was even going on. At that point i just asked who can hell me file a complaing because this guy is extremely upset and wanting a altercation and i was directed to an office. In thay office a nice lady helped me and immediately stood up when she heard what i was trying to explain. Whole time the man was there being aggressive and still approaching me trying to coax me into doing something. The lady noticed that and quickly got me the Director of Operations even tho the man lied and said hes the highest in the building. As i was waiting the man and i were going back and forth and bickering and ultimately just displays his unprofessionalism and lack of control. He denied it was him that texted me even though he answered when i called the number with the unprofessional text message, he lied saying i came in making noise when he greeted me and i simply asked if he was who i think he is, he lied saying i went to the welding area disturbing them when he guided me there. All that for a simple text he should not have sent but he thought it was okay to do that. Never did i go with intentions for an altercation. I felt if he felt like he can just send a text like that as an employee to a possible student he clearly doesnt respect people as he should especially being in the front greeting people onna daily. I was disrespected and be littled being called less than a man and out of my name but none of it bothered me as i am confident in myself as a man, father and veteran. Moral of the story if you lose your temper as a employee and attempt to coax someone into fighting in your workplace behind closed doors theres no space for you in that establishment at all. I spoke to the director and followed the instructions he gave me to move forward and i have also submitted a complaint with BPPE. I have never been put in this situation before so i will file with whoever and wherever because this was unnecessary and someone could have been hurt or arrested.
