Just a heads up on this one as a follow up. They severely water down their coolant. So much so that in less than a year later, most of the water in the coolant has evaporated. I did confirm with the Honda dealership. I have no other system leaks . I just brought it to Honda after I happen to notice a low coolant level and the Shop was the last shop to interact with that system. read more

With no one ahead of me in line this morning, it took a full HOUR at Take 5 for a simple oil change. I inquired after 40 minutes regarding why it was taking so long. The manager said, "well you're getting your oil changed now". Awful. My wife called & asked for a price on a synthetic oil change. She was quoted over the phone their lowest oil change price & sent a $25.00 off coupon. In reality, the price of a synthetic change was much higher, almost as much as the dealer WITH a coupon. Combined with the fact that I told them "Just an oil change" they rifled through my glovebox to get to the cabin filter so they could try & charge me for more service. In doing so, they left the contents of the glovebox scattered on the floor. OUTRAGEOUS behavior from a service provider. NEVER again. read more

Had to wait 1 1/2 hours behind a truck getting all kinds of fluids changed. Other lanes moving through every ten minutes. Could hav closed lane behind truck so it would be fair. Messed up my VIN on my vehicle inspection report, wasted 4 hours at the DMV trying to register an out of state vehicle. Had to go pay to get my vehicle reinspected somewhere else just because they filled out the paperwork wrong. My inspector was Luis Fuentes, save your time and money. Go somewhere else. read more

Marc was my technician this morning. They always treat me great here, but Marc filled my windshield water reservoir before I even asked, washed my windshield and checked the air pressure in all 4 tires. He also checked my A/C filter which had never been checked before. It was really bad, which explains why I was coughing every time I used the air conditioner. I was in and out within 15 minutes. This is a reliable oil change joint. The only issue is it can get a little crowded & busy at times. Got to be careful pulling out on Main St. (still a better location than Jiffy IMHO). Like everything else these days, I wish the cost was a bit lower but they do hunt down coupons for you. read more

They are always slow. Very unorganized. It's worth driving 20 min into San Antonio to a different Take 5.

I went back again since my first oil change with Take 5, and my experience was even better than the first! So much so, that I booked my agnostics check with their office in the back. Says five minutes past oil change however another person was pulled in before me. They had me pull in behind someone that was taking I don't know 20 to 30 minutes and the other guy was almost finished and he came in 15 minutes after me no one even said I'm sorry no one even came out and said anything and they just to take their time. read more

I needed a state inspection done. I was told they could not be doing state inspections because the ground was wet. I'm not making this up. 20 years in the business myself and someone told me they couldn't do the stop test on wet ground. Edit - since I can't reply to a reply. I'd like everyone to know exactly what was going on. Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. I went down the road and they got me in and out in less than 20 mins. I'll still need to find someone else to do my oil changes, but, I don't put up with laziness. Come to find out, Kendall county is a safety only inspection. It's not like TxDPS is standing over your shoulder making sure vehicles pass emissions testing. You test tint, seat belts, lights, and brakes. Make sure you can stop from 20 mph in 25 feet. It wasn't currently raining. It sprinkled and made the ground damp. There were no puddles. https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/vi/publications/rules/safety_manual/chapter4.pdf 6. Inspection may be made while it is raining or snowing. Care must be exercised when making inspection during inclement weather. Road (brake) tests will be permitted with due care when it is raining or when braking surfaces are wet. No road (brake) tests are permitted on icy road test areas. 7. Refusing to inspect a vehicle submitted for inspection without sufficient cause or the careless inspection and willful violation of inspection requirements may result in suspension of the Certificate of Appointment and possible court action. Actually, since I looked this up, you might want to talk to the store. If a TxDPS officer came in and was denied, by #7, you could have inspections suspended. read more

When I went to go get back a copy of my inspection report, they took my recycled oil out of the back of my pick up and literally degreased it and washed it for me and gave it back to me. They sell you on a lot of unnecessary upcharges offering discounts. At the end they claim to apply said discounts but in reality you're left with a higher bill. Was promised a discount on air filter and when provided receipt I showed attendant how discount hadn't been applied and he literally stopped talking and just waved me through towards the exit. read more

Absolute cluster F at this location. Once your in line your stuck and no way to get out. After calling to have someone come direct me out no ones ever came out, I had to call 3 times and the guy the came out was very unbothered by the issue and offered a discount if I waited another 12 minutes that turned into 20. I had called about an oil change and the girl told me there was no line, well there is no direction stating that the line they have is for inspection and after multiple calls the girl on the phone could not tell me if I was in the correct line. Wow. I can't say enough nice things about this place! The customer service is incredible! I went in the other day thinking I needed freon and an oil change. Turns out I had several broken and/or missing parts, a leaking oil pan, and a broken belt. They were sure to make sure that I knew what was going on and they called and gave me an estimate that was very modest modest compared to the amount of work that had to be done! They quoted me two days to get it all fixed and they finished in one day! When I went to pick the car up everyone was so polite and they went through the details of what they fixed and changed out. I truly appreciate everything they were able to help me with! I don't know anything about cars, and I am new to the area, so I and super thankful for these honest and hardworking people at Take 5! read more

Went to the location in Boerne for an oil change and inspection. We waited in our car for 20+ minutes and the employees never even acknowledged our presence. Looked like several employees were just standing around in the garage talking. We ended up leaving and getting work done at Jiffy Lube instead. I really don't like writing a bad review and understanding that there are two sides to all story's. I sent my daughter to have her oil changed for her Toyota Tacoma. Take 5 Oil Change charged her for Royal Purple oil the oil change, air filter and an in cab filter $207! I've sat in line at their service center for a vehicle inspection and noted on several occasions customer debating with the service guys. I can now see why. If you use Take 5 Oil Change for more than an inspection. You better get the quote up front! There are a couple oil change places in this town. I'd definitely shop around! read more

Waited an 1.5 hours for a State inspection. Just shouldn't take over 20 min for an inspection per vehicle. Half the time the staff was directing traffic in the lot. Move the credit card terminals out in the bays so Sebastian doesn't have to run back and forth wasting time. Get signage for inspection line, etc. I'll never return for any service! read more

I have used this place for years, but no more! They apparently forgot to report my inspection report to DMV. Since I didn't know to guard the signed paperwork they provided I will have to re-do it. The guy was incredibly rude when I called to inquire! He even hung up on me when I tried to ask for more information!~! So disappointed in that customer service!!! read more

wish i could give 0 stars. DO NOT COME HERE. they over charged and take FOREVER. they told me my filter was really dirty and needed to be changed but when they pulled out my "dirty" one it was just fine!!! of course the people who worked on my car didn't want me to see that so they hid the new one from me while putting it in my car. i got charged $90 for an oil change and air filter. that was including a 10$ coupon!!!!! these guys suck it's like they don't wanna work on your car ???? they told me i didn't even need an oil change even when my light was on?! they told me i could go longer without it being changed and then i can come back??? like what how does that makes since??? they seriously need to rethink their customer service read more

I had a wonderful experience at take 5. My baby was crying and crying during the whole oil change. We didn't leave our car, which made the entire ordeal easier to manage. I jumped in the backseat to feed my baby girl while the mechanic continued to work on my vehicle. He was so understanding. He was also very knowledgeable about my car, he checked my air filters which had never been changed!!! They were full of gunk! He put in new filters and I could immediately feel a difference. Definitely going back! They let me finish feeding my daughter, not pushing me to leave the bay and when she was satisfied and sleeping I pulled out of the bay and gave a honk. Because of Covid you'll need to wait in your vehicle and we were fine with that. We had to wait about 20 minutes, which we didn't mind either.
