To get to the massage room you're led down a corridor that has seen better days and overall the place feels run down. The massage room was okay, but it did not inspire confidence. There was no consultation on what I needed worked on before we started, and we began face up (every other massage I have ever had anywhere else always started face down). I then experienced a very uncomfortable 30 minutes before I had to end the session: firm pressure applied to bony areas like ankles, knees, and, most painfully, the front of my shins; improperly trimmed fingernails scratching my skin; massage of my belly (like, seriously?); weird attention to small areas like fingers and toes rather than large areas like my back or shoulders; and, finally, sharp fingernails digging into my neck--the therapist even said "Excuse me" as she knew that she had poked my skin with her nails when attempting to massage my neck. Unfortunately, this realization wasn't enough for the poking and scratching to stop. This was the worst massage experience I have ever had. I finally asked the therapist to stop, as there was no way she was going to be able to do anything about the fingernails. I explained the problems with massaging bony areas and the fingernails to both her and the manager of the facility and left. They claimed in an email to me that they had policies about appropriate nail length, but when I saw the long length of the manager's own nails I realized that these policies meant very little. She offered to give me a full massage at another time to demonstrate that the place could offer good service, but by that point my confidence in them was gone. They didn't ask me to pay the balance, but they also wouldn't return the deposit for the massage unless I signed a non-disparagement agreement, which, clearly, I refused to do, because you're reading this review. Obviously I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Easily the worst massage experience of my life: run-down facility, painful pressure applied to areas which shouldn't be massaged at all, scratched skin, and poor customer service. Avoid, and spend your money somewhere you won't be painfully massaged in areas no therapist is meant to apply pressure.

I got here right after she called and cancelled and she cancelled my appointment as well! She went to see if the masseuse was still there and he was so I got my massage first. The masseuse was kind, funny, and was great. He made sure he adjusted the pressure when I said to. I was very relaxed and my muscles felt looser in the end. It had been several months since my last massage so he was great at working out the tightness in my shoulders, back, etc. My pedicure followed my massage. They even gave me yogurt and water while I got my pedicure. I was surprised that the young lady who did my pedicure was one of the owners. She was so talkative and kind. She didn't rush though my pedicure and paid attention when she polished my nails. She was great. There wasn't any polish on my skin that needed to be removed. Since there was so much snow outside, they let me sit as long as I wanted under the dryer so my polish wouldn't mess up. The atmosphere is relaxing in Veola's, however, they do need to update the spa. I even suggested they start carrying their own products for sale. Some of the items they had up front looked like a hodgepodge of products. I think it will help them more to clean that out, update, and sell their own. Outside of that, I can see myself returning for services. Unlike other complaints, I liked my service. They were prompt, professional, and didn't try to sell me anything.
