Tailor's Keep provided exceptional friendliness and professionalism (and patience!) when working with me to figure out my bespoke suit design for my wedding. I and everyone I know were exceedingly pleased with the final product. The cut and styling of the brown tweed came out as contemporary fashion meets timeless classic that was not only perfect for the big day but will also be my prized special-occasion suit for the rest of my life. One above-and-beyond customer service moment came in the days leading up to my wedding when I lost a brass accessory in the store as I was trying everything on for my final fitting. William tore the store apart helping me look for it, and just as I was about to give up hope, he called me two days later exclaiming that he found the piece stuck between the cushions in the fitting room. That's dedication! The summer before my wedding, I must have shopped around to half a dozen tailors in San Francisco, spanning the more entry-level shops like Indochino and Suit Supply to several of the higher-end options. I am so glad I trusted my instincts and stuck with Tailor's Keep, whose vibe I appreciated the first time I walked in. For as long as I live in the Bay Area, Tailor's Keep has a lifelong customer.

Can't say enough about the good folks at Tailors' Keep. While certainly you will have a wonderful experience if you are only looking for a suit for a special occasion, your best bet is to invest your time and trust your wardrobe with them long term. In the last year, I have commissioned everything from chinos, to sport coats, an overcoat, a car coat, and a multitude of shirts. They start out great already but keep getting better and better long term. They'll work to accommodate your own personal style as it evolves and provide you with clothes that are long term investments.

I just wanted to say I had the best experience with Ryan and the boys at Tailors Keep. I also own a wedding adjacent business and as a professional I was just really impressed with the whole operation from the first consultation, through the online scheduling process, to the in store experience. It was all really something to behold. I had them do me a three piece, three button vintage 60's mod suit from scratch and they really leapt at the challenge. Part of why I went to Tailors Keep, was that I didn't want it too be too kitschy, just really custom, modern and on point and that's definitely what they delivered. I don't usually shell out for nice things, but on this one it was important to me, and they really took the time and care to get it right. The suit is dope and on the day of the wedding people were really blown away. The vintage photos we did actually look like we're in the 60's, it's pretty amazing. And when all the girls were doing hair and make up, and me and the boys were still setting up and rigging lights and sound, it was the one thing that made me feel sane, pampered and like I was the groom and not the vendor for the few minutes before we walked. Also we ended up getting the same whiskey these guys have in the shop for the wedding, so once I had my big ice cube and imported Japanese whiskey in hand, I was chilling. Serious special shout out to these guys for running a tight ship and being my favorite of all the vendors we hired for our event. If everyone treated their customers like these guys do, I think the world would be a better place.

Place was cool liked the set up and what they are doing it's just hard for me cuz I'm in the South Bay and they are only open M-F closed on weekends For me that's a big reason I can't go with them but cool place

Where to begin with this amazing establishment. I had some fabric lying around for um, 20 years and I wanted to turn it into something 'someday'. Well, that someday finally happened and with Tailors' Keep, my suit dreams have come true:) I had the best experience dreaming up this suit. Ryan heard everything I said and he didn't make me feel like any of my ideas were crazy- my style is a bit quirky:) He even added the perfect final touch (of pink) to the collar before calling it finished! He made me feel so welcome and ultimately created the perfect suit for me! If you are looking for a suit (ladies, I'm talking to YOU too!) or are looking for a tailor, this is your place. It's in SF, but it's worth a flight, train ride, boat ride, if necessary Ps- the tailoring they do here is TOP NOTCH. They took one of my dresses and turned it into the perfect jumpsuit!

We spent two years planning our wedding and paying a lot of attention to fine details. It's the most important day I've lived, and it was one of the most beautiful, too. One of the things I'm so glad I spent a lot of time on was the design and craft of my tuxedo. Tailor's Keep is absolutely the right call. From the first visit of "I'm just trying to figure out what I want and what I don't know" all the way to final alterations and details, the guys at Tailor's Keep made me feel cared for and respected, and they understood exactly what we were going for. They were clearly masters of the craft, and knew the ins and outs of all the fabrics we selected, the designs and shapes of the garments, and the vision for the day. The tuxedo is beautiful and well-constructed - something I can enjoy for many years. And it's uniquely mine!

I got my first-ever custom suit for my wedding this past May at Tailor's Keep and could not be happier with how it turned out. Though I was unfamiliar with the process, Charles and Will did a fantastic job of educating me and making me comfortable during all of our appointments, which my wife and even our dog Otto thoroughly enjoyed. The craftsmanship is superb - the suit is by far the most comfortable I own, and the subtle details make it a garment I know I will cherish and always look forward to wearing. I can't recommend Tailor's Keep highly enough.

I came to Tailors' Keep to order a suit for my wedding. It's the first time I've treated myself to a custom tailored suit, so the process was all rather new to me. Fortunately, everyone at Tailors' Keep was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Daryn in particular guided me through the process and helped me find the perfect material, color and specifications for what I was looking for (which was admittedly vague). The whole experience was enjoyable and comfortable, and I was thrilled with the final result. (As was my now wife). I'd recommend Tailors' Keep to anyone looking for a tailored suit, and look forward to the next time I'll have an occasion to treat myself to another.

My suit from Tailors' Keep

The gentlemen at Tailors' Keep are devoted to two things: fashioning the highest-quality men's suits, and leveling up your look. On a recommendation from a friend very in-the-know on men's fashion, I contacted Tailors' Keep and set up a consultation. I wanted a three-piece suit that would make me look amazing for my outdoor Northern California wedding, and would last me for as many great occasions I could hope to join for years to come. Ryan and Daryn were my suiting guides, sharing their perspectives on the fabrics that would both look best for my vision and be the most versatile option for four seasons of wear. They were eager to educate me about fabric sourcing, the tailoring process, and why I should forego belt loops. Despite the supply chain uncertainty around the pandemic, they confidently steered the process to ensure I was able to get my suit in time for the wedding. The suit is in a category of its own for anything I've ever owned. It fits my body and my vibe perfectly - I texted a picture to a trusted female friend after the first fitting, and she responded "OMG you look sharp as ****!" I am excited to find many more occasions to suit up now that lockdown is lifted, and I'm already looking forward to commissioning something new from Tailors' Keep. If Tailors' Keep is an option for you, you have reached the end of your search.

I can't sing higher praises for Tailors' Keep. They made my wedding suit and it's a garment I will cherish for a lifetime. Everyone at this ship is an expert in the craft and they can work with any vision, big or small. Since they make custom clothing, the process does take some time so book early! It's definitely worth the wait though. My suit is high-quality and it fits me better than any piece of clothing I've owned. Whenever a friend needs a suit, I'm sending them to Tailors' Keep.

Ask the Community - Tailors' Keep

Good evening. Do you currently do alterations for suits purchased outside your store? I know that wasn't the case a few years ago- thanks and have a great wknd

Hey there - we no longer offer alterations work on outside garments. You’re correct though - we used to, but have stopped our alterations program since 2020.

Hi! What is the starting price for a custom suit? New to this and looking to understand the gamut. Thanks!

Hello! I recently purchased a suit that requires buttons on the sleeve and pants to be altered. Doe Tailor's keep provide alteration services too?

Hi Sam! Currently we don’t offer alteration services for outside garments not purchased through us. However, we can confidently recommend Jonathan at Martinez Tailor (www.martineztailor.com). His shop is one floor above ours!

Hi there do you do alterations for women's suit?

Hi, do you offer alterations on Men's suit?

Do you guys offer dark green suits (similar to hunter green)?

Hey there! Absolutely! We offer a wide selection of dark green fabrics that are great for full suits or separates. You’re welcome to book a consultation appt and see some of them in person: www.tailorskeep.com/bookings… Read more

I went here with my now-husband to get his suit for our destination wedding (this past Sept). We…read morehave never had a custom suit made in the U.S. before, and have only gone through the experience once ever for that matter, so we really didn't know what we were doing lol. He had some ideas in mind and so I started the search online. Only a few stores got back to me, and fewer still were able to do what we were looking for, and Knot Standard was one of them. There was a small hiccup in our initial experience - when trying to book online, the confirmed appointment time didn't match what was actually requested (tried more than once and it was always off by an hour). In the end, it was easy enough to email the consultant (Maggie) to fix the issue. We met with Maggie a few times over a few months. The initial meeting was getting an idea of what Knot Standard offers, prices, timelines, etc. Throughout the meeting, we felt informed but didn't feel overwhelmed (for the most part) nor pressured to continue the process if it turned out not to be what we needed. The following meetings were consultations + advice, measurements, fittings, and any adjustments. Maggie is very experienced and was able to answer our million questions! In the end, he chose a blue-ish purple fabric (from Italy IIRC) for a 3-piece tux. We were even able to bring a piece of home with us to our destination wedding via a hidden embroidery of our cats on his inner pocket. He also bought some custom-fitted dress shirts. Pickup was a breeze and included a couple garment bags and a pocket kerchief.

Very surprised at how well the suits fit my husband. Living in Reno, there is nowhere to shop for…read moresuits and because of the shape of my husband (arched back, wider hips) everything he wears for work needs to be tailored with the hopes that the tailor is not only good but current in style. After returning to the office and needing a complete wardrobe refresher, I found Knot Standard during tailored made suit searches. I'm making an appointment was very easy to do online. Maggie was our sales rep and she moved at lightening speed making recommendation of patterns, styles, and textiles. After just a quick 45 minutes, we purchased 3 suits, 2 jackets, and 2 dress shirts. The total was roughly $14k for all of this. Unfortunately one of the suit fabric was out of stock but a close substitute was made. About 6 weeks later, I followed up on the arrival of the clothing and scheduled an appointment for the fitting. During the fitting, my husband and I were shocked that everything fit him perfectly without needing any adjustments. He said the clothes fit him so well, they felt like they were clipped on him like a Lego piece. He was so happy with the look and fit of the clothing, he purchased another suit. Additional Comment-The unfortunate part of my experience is you must be the one to follow up with your suit's arrival. Your sales rep-at least in my experiences-never was the one to call or email me saying the orders where in. Every time, I have had to email the sales rep and when she didn't respond, email the company and they have never responded. So, if you want your orders, it is all up to you to follow up.
