The customer service alone deserve five stars- helpful, knowledgeable, never pushy, communicative, timely, and a pleasure to work with. Even if you are unsure of what you want, they'll provide you a plethora of styling, fabric options, and advice (should you ask). I feel my words do not do justice to how truly fantastic every aspect of their work and business is. They truly take pride in their craft and it shows in the final product. Ryan and Tailors' Keep take care of me better than I expect every time. While they can help with both custom suiting/shirting and alterations I've primarily gone to them with my alterations needs. I had Ryan help redesign an old suit that fit so poorly I cannot adequately describe. I now get compliments on the fit and how I look in the suit all the time. How many of you remember that first time your boss said, "Really Peter? That same flippin' shirt again?" And mortified, you realized if you didn't update your button down collection you could kiss your career dreams bye bye... So, with pure desperation, you turn to the only tailor's that can be trusted with life and death situations like these: Ryan and the lucky seven over at Tailor's Keep. And GOD DAMN do those men look fine! In the straightest (But slighlty curious) way possible, I did not know a good shirt could make men look THAT DANG GOOD! Was this real life!?!?!? ... Some questions we shouldn't ask the answer to... so I left it alone... for now... As I naively walked into these gentlemen's open arms, I felt the embrace of a long lost brother that I had never known, but still, in the same breath, felt as if I'd always known, What witchery was this!? Nonetheless I continued on and inward with the stalwart and dapper fellows until we entered the inner courtyard they fondly called "The Junkyard." (Why they called it the junkyard is still unkown to this day but some sources say because (SPOILER ALERT) they were known to serve Jersey "Junkyard" dogs on certain Saturdays and so old timers fondly refer to it as the junkyard where back in the day they would take their young honey and swipe a junkyard dog and all would be right in the world.) *There are numerous other legends we don't have time to address for now. Once there, I received the most incredible attention to detail from these young gentlemen, as they built me a suit that had felt like it had been waiting for me my entire life. When we met, (Me and the suit) it was as if we were one and the same. It was like animorphs, but instead of me turning into an animal, I turned a little bit into the suit and the suit turned a little bit into me, and even years later people would often say that it was hard to tell where I ended and the suit began. Basically, it was the perfect fit. Ladies and gentlemen, don't believe the lies they tell you at those discount "men's retailers." The only ones who can make you the shirt, the socks, or surprise you with the whole suit, are Ryan and the Lucky Seven. I promise ya, those two will get yer swagger back quicker than you can say DAN BILZERIAN. So, all this to say: if you are a man, in need of perfectly fitting, stylish, sexy, flattering, indulgent, sensual, masculine, and yet still classically refined garb, go visit the rusty saloon they call the "Tailor's Keep" and let Ryan and the lucky boys give you a good measure and rub down while they pour whiskey down your gullet and feed you dreams of a more beautiful future! I had been by the shop once or twice and had a friend refer me to Ryan, the shop's owner. The shop itself is beautiful, and from the second you walk in you know this is a cut above the rest (no pun intended). Enjoy a cocktail while chatting about the options available to you (which are essentially limitless... if you can dream it up he can make it). I was looking for a suit for my wedding and decided to get it done here. Sam was giving me he initial consultation and took my measurements. He was very helpful with the details (button colors, etc) and gave me lots of tips. He was competent and easy to work with. I had to come in a total of 3 times (including the initial consultation) to get every detail right and Sam was always happy to help. 10/10, would recommend. Especially if you aren't 100% sure what you want, they are very helpful at figuring it out with you. read more

Ryan was so instrumental in creating a beautiful and comfortable suit for my wedding. I had never had a suit made for me and did not know a lot of the details. He was able to take what little ideas I had and guide me through all the details of figuring out what would look good. He is great at figuring out your imprecise words and willing to offer you his advice as to what would look best. I felt very comfortable and confident working with him and the others in subsequent appointments. Any detail you want or could think of and more got put into my suit without all kinds of nickle and dime charges. In fact, they are so considerate of cost I had to ask about what's the difference between some other fabric makers and costs that were higher. They really don't try and upsell you on anything and what you get is awesome. I was so happy with the results and got lots of compliments. My best man also had custom pants and a shirt made for the wedding and loved it. He looked great in his clothes as well. The price compared to other tailors in the area was very competitive. I feel like I got everything at a very good price. The craftsmanship and the materials were incredible. I have other pants and jackets that are nowhere near as comfortable as this suit. I got a full canvas jacket which was the only paid upgrade (you can get more pricey cloths too). I really could understand how you could wear a suit all day and be more comfortable than even some pajamas! My best man was sad to go back to jeans after trying on the trial and pants he bought. If you want to be comfortable and breathable (this is not to say thin either, the suit just keeps you at a great temperature and this includes walking on the Embarcadero at night) on your wedding day and wish you wore a suit every day it's so comfortable this is the place to go. read more

Given the significance of the event, I was obviously very picky about what I was going to be wearing and how well it fit. Tailors' keep is the only place I will go to spend some cash when considering a custom tailored suit. Ryan made me a fantastic suit and custom shirt for my wedding and it fit like a glove. I have trouble fitting into regular slacks because I have a bad case of what Ryan would call a "Big seat" (aka large behind). The staff at Tailors Keep made me a fantastic suit that looked great and fit even better. Don't think about going somewhere else, they are hands down the best. read more

Recently I needed a new suit to go to a wedding. Problem was, I have never been able to buy a suit off the rack. The size 38 jacket they put me in usually fits reasonably well, but when they try to adjust the matching pants the back pockets overlap so it never works. No problem. For once, I thought, I'll go to a tailor and have them made. So I went to Tailor's Keep where Ryan and crew measured me and helped me choose a fabric. Five or six weeks later the result arrived. Through a snaffu at the factory some of the measurements were off. Although the skirt was too long I did have something to wear to the wedding. Afterwards, Ryan discussed the issues with the people who made the jacket and they agreed to make another one in its place. Oddly, when the replacement arrived it, too, was off. Ryan went back to them again and they agreed to cut a third jacket. But now there was no more of the fabric I'd chosen. So we picked another fabric and a third jacket was made. This one fit much better. Ryan graciously had the second jacket modified, so now I have not one but two jackets that fit. Not only did he not charge me for the second jacket, he gave me a generous discount on the first by way of compensation. I felt bad about going back to the guys over and over again but there's really only one reason to go to a tailor - to get it done right. Happily Ryan agrees with that reasoning and insisted on resolving every issue to my satisfaction. Any manufacturing process is liable to experience glitches. The problems we ran into were not Tailor's Keep's fault, but their great customer service was the solution. I am a satisfied customer and can happily recommend Tailor's Keep. read more

I brought in a suit that I purchased off the rack to have it tailored. I had the pants hemmed and the sleeves shortened. I paid a little more to have the sleeves shortened by taking them up through the arm holes. I had inquired about having the button hole on the lapel opened up as well as the button holes on the sleeves. The cost for opening up the button holes on the sleeves were a little more than I wanted to pay, but Ryan mentioned that he would do the lapel hole at not extra charge. When I came in to pick up the suit, they did a fantastic job with the hem and with the sleeves. I was ready to go on my way when Ryan mentioned that they also opened up the button holes on the sleeves at no extra charge. I was blown away. I really can't say enough about the service that this shop provides. Ryan, Clint, and the staff at Tailor's Keep are great people to work with. I will definitely work with these guys in the future. I also like the fact that they have an automated calendar system to schedule drop off and pickup appointments. These guys are pretty busy so setting up an appointment is a real plus. read more
