Tried to scam me on a bait and switch. I originally made an appointment with a company called Tail Hook Towing Service at 3:39pm and they quoted me a 65 minute wait, but after 3 1/2 hours, they never showed up. After a little more than 2 hours of waiting at 5:51pm I started calling the number I originally made the appointment on, 10 times. (520-389-5067) No answer, full voicemail inbox so I couldn't leave a message.
The answering machine said, "Thank you for calling 24hr Towing and Roadside Assistance" (I thought it was weird it didn't mention Tail Hook Towing, and it also never mentioned 1st Choice Towing either) I called this number 10 times and got no answer and no call back.
This was unacceptable, so I had to get towed by a different company, and I finally got picked up by that other company at 7:05pm. Then, literally 4 hours exactly after making the initial appointment through Tail Hook, at 7:39pm, I get a call from 520-809-3832 (a 1st Choice Towing number, but I am speaking to the same man I spoke to earlier when I called Tail Hook Towing) claiming that they were there, but I wasn't, so they still have the audacity to try to charge me anyway. Even though I tried calling them back at 5:51pm to cancel the service, and continuously kept calling throughout the afternoon.
Then the representative tells me that the Tail Hook Towing phone number is a Google generated phone number and there is no such company in Tucson called Tail Hook Towing, that it's a California company and I've been dealing with 1st Choice Towing the whole time. He mentioned something along the lines about an $8000 advertising service that forwards customers to 1st Choice Towing through that phone number. I told him I made an appointment through Tail Hook Towing, I tried canceling the appointment with plenty of time when they did not show up after 2 plus hours of waiting, but the number I originally made the appointment on, ignored to answer my phone calls and refused calling me back. That is the number I got from the Tail Hook Towing website, (which claims to be local)
Then I conveniently get called by a completely different number claiming that I wasted their time and they will charge my card. I was charged by 1st Choice Towing for a service they never provided. I tried making an appointment with a completely different company. They never showed up after 3 1/2 hours of waiting, and I tried cancelling that service with plenty of notice, my phone calls were ignored. Now some other company wants me to pay them, for not answering the same phone number I called to make the initial appointment in the first place. read more
