If ever there comes a time that I'd have to relocate to another country, street taho is one of the things I will sorely miss. And you should also forget about attempting to recreate it--it's not going to work.
And, as a testament to that, here is Taho Bar, a kiosk that sells non-traditional taho that's been "modernised" to accommodate several kinds of flavours. It's clearly impossible to recreate traditional street taho, so the people behind Taho Bar just made their own kind. Soya has been infused with several types of flavours such as chocolate, ube, almond (my favourite), buko pandan, mais, coffee, and so on. You can either have it cold or hot (microwaved).
It's a pretty good, creative rendition of taho. Best thing is it's accessible all day (well, mall hours). If it's difficult to wake up early in the morning to shout "Taho! Taho!" to the local vendor, head to Taho Bar instead. read more
