For what you would pay for a bag at the mall that was made overseas by workers in a sweat factory; you can come here and spend about the same amount but go home with a bag that not only is unique and beautiful; but made by local artisans using locally sourced materials. However, after perusing the racks, I saw a variety of items both for on and off the resort. I was pleasantly surprised at how versatile many of the items were and the owner gave great suggestions on how to style the pieces. Ultimately, I purchased a cute purse and some really good smelling room spray. I could definitely see myself coming back for an outfit to wear around town or to refresh my wardrobe before a vacation.

In preparation for my wonderful partner's birthday, I was on the hunt for some special gifts and knew that I could find something wonderful in there. Always looking for any opportunity to support minority-owned businesses and woman-owned businesses in our awesome community of entrepreneurs, I was hyped to see what I could find. This shop is incredibly spacious! There were so many different sections of items by women of color such as socks, pins, books, items for kids, handbags, candles and more. I was so blown away, I think I browsed for like 30min+ just checking out all of the greatness! Anything you can think of purchasing, it was there. (Beyond food, but I could be wrong, lol) I decided to go with a beautiful, handmade sling bag from Ghana that my boyfriend ended up loving. The employee assisting me was so wonderful and patient, she even suggested some wonderful items to gift including this amazing "Happy Birthday, Black man" card. How special! There's even a full tshirt station ready for you to create a custom shirt of your own. I absolutely love that this store exists and focuses on uplifting brands from women of color. They did not have the size I needed in several, similar boot styles but I was able to get something in a completely different shoe (no refunds after 10 days, just store credit and I wasn't sure when I'd be able to get back there). The lady that helped me on my return trip was neither friendly or very helpful. The lady that helped me originally was busy with another customer (fine), and I DO NOT mind waiting, I teach my daughter all the time that you have to 'Wait your turn'. What I do not like when it comes to customer service is no acknowledgement of your presence, standing around until someone acknowledges that you exist (the store is VERY small, you can't be missed), being helped like there are a million other things you could be doing with your time and ultimately feeling like you could either take or leave my business. This is not a big-box shop, I never understood this attitude when it came to small business owners. Go for the shoes and the selection, take a gamble on the experience.
