They do everything in their power to provide you a pleasant environment for success. John has been guiding for a number of years and knows his business exceptionally well. Mate Rich is there to help you. If Rich sees that you are doing something wrong, he is not bashful about showing you the RIGHT way to accomplish a task. For instance, if you are not using the right rig for the fish that you are targeting, Rich will provide you with the correct rig. I STRONGLY recommend Reel Fun Sport Fishing and expect to go out again this year with Captain John and Rich. We had a nice day on the water today with a number of fluke and other fish. I personally ended the day by catching a 40 pound Cow Nose Ray---not exactly a creature that you target. It was the most unbelievable fishing experience of my life. Thankfully, Captain John and Rich were there to provide some VERY helpful pointers on bringing in the large ray (we did not hoist the ray into the boat; Rich unhooked the ray in the water at the boat's stern, so the ray swam away).

I've been here twice already. We did the short trail that had some steep hills. It was about 2 miles and we decided to do another round. I love it! Depending on where you go, you can see right across to Seabright Beach and the strip of perfectly lined homes. A beautiful view. Everyone is friendly, though I do not feel comfortable coming here by myself. Must be the native NYC part of me. I do recommend this park.

Regardless of catching keepers, we were reeling them in all day long. we went from 7:30am to 2:30pm and between the 4 of us we hooked about 40 fish. Although we only had one keeper, it may have to do with the fact that the limit was raised to 18". These guys stick to the rules and don't let anyone keep shorts. Overall fantastic crew and boat, great trip! Will be going again very soon!

As we arrive at the shore, the captain, Captain Tom, spotted us from afar and gave us a very welcoming greeting. He took pictures for us in front of the ship and tells us everything we need to know about the trip. The crew was amazing and very attentive. The weather was a little chilly today so Patrick, the superstar crew member, very kindly offered his spare hoodies to my friends who are freezing. We didn't catch any strip bass today, but we did manage to catch many blue fish. They are huge and really quite delicious. Ah yes! So once you have a fish on hook, the crew will help you pull it out of the water, and at the end fillet them for you. The fishing experience was really easy and relaxing because the crew is there to help with untangling the strings or helping us putting on baits. The bathroom was extremely clean and the indoor space is dry and comfortable. I like the fact that they have a separate restroom for the ladies, it is very considerate. This is my 3rd time fishing with the Atlantic Star and I'll definitely come back with more friends. Tips: - don't forget to tip the crew members well when you exit the ship, they worked really hard! - they have everything you need on board, just walk in and be prepared to catch some fish! - good for family with kids too

The 5-person skiffs are the boats that do not require a boat license to operate. They have 12 regular skiffs ($100), and 5 skiffs w/ tops ($115). They open at 7am, but I would suggest getting there 30 minutes earlier and putting your name on the reservation list to ensure you get a boat. The skiffs are in pretty good condition, and they're not difficult to operate even if it's your first time. Life jackets and seating pads are provided with the rental. If you need fishing or crabbing equipment, you can get it at the store on site.
