For me, it started with going through the Xero HQ forums and credentialed Xero community - in a passionate effort to lay to rest the great archaic convoluted dinosaur of software known to some historians as "Quickbooks" (and ALL Intuit products for that matter, ugh) - this was a primary driving initiative for me to commence my search. I was looking for Xero experts and after vetting approximately 20 companies nationwide, Accountingprose was my choice and I haven't at ALL been disappointed. Accounting and bookkeeping doesn't have to be a nightmare. Honestly. Tina and her team chase all the Intuit Ghosts away, back to their evil lairs, back into the shadows of hellfire and confusion of sulphuric accounting sadness of where they should stay. :) I digress. We wanted him to tidy up our books, help change our filing status for our business and help with a transfer to QBO. But we were fed lines of crap on why he couldn't help. We switched firms for the 2025 tax season. When they were reviewing and prepping our books for taxes they found several things that should have been corrected a while ago and wondered why we were filing as an LLC and hadn't got a S Corp status. Well we were told we could only apply for S Corp status during a certain time, and we had missed it. Well come to find out that's not true. He could have saved our business a lot of money but he chose not to. Mr. Keeley has "offices"(he's not there and not staffed) in many states. He doesn't go the extra mile for his customers, he barely makes the block. He doesn't want to do your taxes if he doesn't do your books, but I didn't feel comfortable with that considering he never seemed to want to help or answer the phone. He's big on AI help, so that's who answers his phone. If I had a question I was given a very vague response as this was his way of persuading me to let him do the bookkeeping, basically saying I couldn't do it without him. My opinion you could get the same service using turbo tax and would be a hell of a lot cheaper. I would find someone who is more hands on and honest.

What a nightmare. I was with their "payroll service" for a month and never got paid it never processed correctly and I kept getting told "oh it should work now I fixed it". So I signed back up with PayChex who has never dropped the ball. My monthly financials were always late - by over a month. What a joke. Needless to say I went running back into the arms of my previous CPA. THEN of course, Miller & Associates now had access and changed all login credentials for all my state tax stuff. So I had no access to my accounts, I contacted Miller to find that those who had worked on my account were no longer there and the owner (Mike Miller) was claiming that he was not receiving password resets and did not have an email address associated with the payroll company....? That he owned? I had to spend 3 hours on hold with the state to re-set it and sure enough they verified that it was going to an address at his firm. Which I had point blank asked "do you own an email address ending in @bulldogpayroll" and he said "no, only @millerandassociates email addresses". And full on lied to me because he didn't want to deal with it. If I can prevent anyone from making the mistake of dealing with this joke of a company then I hope I save you some time and money.
